yes, you're right.. if i had started PE then i have to reboot the PC, just closing the program won't do..

thanks for the suggestions, Ralf but i'm sure that i wasn't running Process Explorer in the background but anyway as i'm already playing Gothic 3 at the moment, maybe i'll take a 2nd look when the dust settles..

knowing full well that i won't have enough time to play BioShock, i downloaded the 1GB+ demo.. after installing, i had attached a hard drive from another PC for trouble-shooting and the next time i tried to launch the demo, there was the standard warning from SecureROM and since i'm disinclined to find out more about this "protection" & how to disable it, i'm just going to take a deep breath & uninstall the demo without even playing.. ah, the irony!

Lashiec, i mentioned the same thing here but i think it's a good feature to have in SpinZip as well since i can copy it into a USB drive & use it where WinRAR is not available..

the reason Farr2 is still "alpha preview release" is because mouser is a one-man show and he also codes other programs, answer feature requests, trouble-shoot bug reports, participates in the DC IRC Channel (you can chat with him there), send out member kits all over the world and occasionally takes time off to sleep, eat and do other things not directly related to DC and i mean this as a compliment.

so i do hope that you try out Farr2..

Oh, and the printing support is kind of surreal, but that's a "nice to have" feature since I usually paste into Word and annotate there before printing.

i found this program while trawling the Gothic 3 forums. since it's concept is somewhat like our DCUpdater, i thought that i'd just post a screenshot here. this updater is simple enough even though the interface & the web-site is in German. the program basically lists down all the latest patches & tools in a single screen instead of searching through the forum threads..

another way is to drop a mail to the devs of ClamAV, letting them know that you intend to re-distribute their program bundled with others.. a confirmation from them would definitely be easier to understand than the legalese..

i remember that last month my wife's internet banking account was "discontinued" due to "non-active" usage. and since we were ill-equipped to deal with the bureaucracy, we just decided to by-pass the whole re-activate process altogether and got another account at the same bank..
