Here you go:  TaoCopier
That's getting close!

If you feel like tweaking it, something about the size of the box makes the instructions "how many copies" etc completely unreadable - maybe you could make the box taller.

Also, a quick feature that would be nice is because Windows (other OS's?) get grumpy with two copies of the same file, I tend to always start my files with trailing digits like 1, etc. So NewFolder1 gave me Newfolder11, Newfolder 12, up to NewFolder110. So Start With Trailing Digit would be nice.

Another case is when I have files like ElegyForSkwire Unrecited.txt, aka trailing descriptive info that should stay the same, when I make the copies, I'd really rather have ElegyForSkwire2 Unrecited.txt ElegyForSkwire3 Unrecited.txt ElegyForSkwire4 Unrecited.txt etc. So that feature would be Insert Numerals X characters from the left. Is that still simple to do?

Your fan,

I seem to remember there being "four boxes" without even the coffin ... Got it - y'all forgot Jury Box.

The four boxes of liberty is a meme that proposes: "There are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury and ammo. Please use in that order." It is often quoted by conservative groups that oppose gun control."

Hmm.

I don't have any experience with Autohotkey, so does that code compile into the clicky exe's you've been making or is that something else entirely?

I think 2012 will be a turning point. We're either going to escape from all of this stuff, or we slide into eternal darkness. 1 of the 2.

SOPA Cody is upset!

What if a message is really dangerous?  The following message could destroy the entire US!
Spoiler
Under a rock in New York seventy eight feet from where Mrs. Whipple sits is a pirated copy of One Missed Call.

Heh I tried to make nested spoilers but it didn't work. Also I don't think you need an = key. It was erroneously showing up for me and went away when I took it out.

This is not going to end well...

What kind of unbelievable pace is this going at?! Damn I wish InternetSpeed was left for Kittens.

This is one of the few sites with NSFW hiding buttons. I like that. Are users (Not mods) putting those on their posts and how do you do it?

Y'all are right that there's the Bluenose theme quietly silencing the far edges of the responses we'd really rather make. It's a really bounded version of the school bully trick "I'll bully you because I know the teachers won't care / be around every time, then when you lose your cool it will be when they conveniently are."

And re: your metaphor - there's lots of them to help with the ...

Deozaan that would have been a clever image for a protest to mimic, but a true 404/etc in protest would have been "too thin of a message" and even savvy users wouldn't know it's not just one more site that didn't keep their site up.

Hi Skwire!

I agree Flexible Renamer has more horsepower to repair existing junk names etc.

Yes, what I see the need for is a single file / folder smart copier so that I don't get all that junk that requires Flexible Renamer to fix!  ;D

Usage wise, I'd see it as something that sits in the tray so that the new smartcopy is "just there", tied to some key, rather than having to open the app and "import target folder or file".

Looks like a lot of flip-flopping there... I think that's a list of politicians that really shouldn't be re-elected. They're doing the same back-peddling as GoDaddy -- they're not sincere.

Even the snakes that co-sponsored it are flipping.

This is the second half of the "Fix the problem not the symptom" discussion. Physical protests seem to be passe - see what happened to Occupy. So this time the Web Collective Mind protested.

Now we should track where the individual provisions go to other places (or even rebuilt versions of the same bill.)

Next, this outrage needs to be cemented with pledges to vote out anyone who supported this bill.

Sorry, I spent my 100th post protesting SOPA!

News Flash. SOPA is a Zombie!

"Wishful thinking, because today SOPA is back in full force.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith just announced that the SOPA markup is expected to continue next month."

Heh - that's like the big secret among agents.

With apologies for minor provincialism, "Most Actors/Actresses" are of "blah heritage". "Grew up in NY of Italian/Germanic-Hungarian heritage" - basically a recipe for those dark looks.

Okay, let's go up a step. Try Star Trek TNG's Marina Sirtis. British-American of Greek stock. Getting there.

Then for Hugo Weaving I can only quote Wikipedia.
"Weaving was born at the University Teaching Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria, to English parents Anne, a tour guide and former teacher, and Wallace Weaving, a seismologist. His maternal grandmother was Belgian. A year after his birth, his family returned to England... before relocating to Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, Johannesburg in South Africa, and then returning to England again. While in England, he attended the independent boarding school Queen Elizabeth's Hospital. His family moved back to Australia in 1976..."
(Edited lightly for Wiki-cite crap.)

Oh man...I sometimes get stuck reading an hour's worth of those demotivational things.  So funny.

Nah, not "stuck" - you can learn more about life in an hour of reading those than an entire week of MainStream Media.

^It says motifake.com on the bottom. Best check with them.  :)

I've seen dozens of "demotivational" variants using that exact same image all over the web.  Good luck identifying who really owns it assuming anybody does.  Looks to me like somebody just photoshopped an old archived navy nuclear test photo.

"Not Good Enough" - you made THAT. So you are the Rightsholder of First Recourse with your text and arrangement. So - what are YOUR license terms for your "derivative work"?  : )

THEN, once I have secured YOUR permission, I can go up the food chain. (Incidentally, I checked for 7 seconds, the site is really vague on licensing!)

See how much Copyright sux?

Why would SOPA care about people talking about software?   ;D

What...I can't talk about how ribbons suck and traditional toolbars were awesome?

Heh I'd call you a troll if you weren't so nice! : )
Answer is, SOPA is such a burgeoning cauldron of seething evil that absolutely anything falls under its provisions. To "duck and hide by only talking about narrow software" would be a crime of silence to ignore the biggest censorship attempt in X years.

Anyone want to take a whack at this?

I'm stuck making more folders again, and here we go renaming away from "doc copy copy copy" to "doc1" "doc2" etc.

Edit: Flexible Renamer is pretty good, and it got me past today, though I like "low-res" tricks too, so there's still room for the "1-button" widget.

But how precisely do we apply the Dharma to saving the internet?

One of the poker players on those poker shows says he keeps llamas. (No joke, I just forget who.) He says of course the first is named Dalai.

The second was named Barack O'llama.
