Recently upgraded from 1 GB to 2 GB and put the other module into the dual-channel mode. Wow! It feels like a new machine! Recommended.

Better to mention it twice than to miss it. ;) QT is worth trying -- and using!

https://www.donation...22.msg75430#msg75430 a week ago...  :)

I prefer these to all those discussed Explorer replacements.

Thanks, I did this three times before and did once more now. I can see my pin and picture in the first place, but I'm not listed neither in Photos, nor in Members. Or can you see me there?

Also, I don't have any "Maps I'm on" in my profile and on "Settings > Invite poeple" I can see only "You must be on this map yourself before inviting others."

I tried using Opera Merlin and IE7. No way.
432
Sorry, the same with "donationcoder.com". Both used to work a couple of day ago, though.
433
Still unable to add myself to Frappr. More, when searching for "donationcoder" all I get is:
frappr-donationcoder-not-found.png

The direct link works, though. Any clue?

Personally I prefer simplicity, lucidity and speed to all those elaborate windows previews. For those like me there's one app not mentioned here yet: SmartTab (http://www.smarttab.org). It's a minimalist Alt-Tab replacement. I especially like that you can directly select from dozens of running apps with a number/letter key.
435
The same here. I concluded that it's me (PICNIC--see https://www.donation...65.msg70754#msg70754), but maybe not... I even registered at Frappr, but to no avail. I can see myself on the DC map, but I'm not listed neither in Photos nor the Members section. Any idea?

You're right. It's a pity. But the application itself is very well done. Worth trying, unless you hate regex!  :P

My favorite is PFrank (http://www3.telus.net/pfrank). With the regular expressions you just can do anything...

LogMeIn requires just a browser and installing small ActiveX or Java component. In the paid "Pro" version you can invite a guest, see details at https://secure.logme.../faq.asp#account-03a. I'm afraid just one at a time, though.

Just came across this: http://www.remote.cz/en/. Maybe this could help, but I don't have any experience with it.

From the website:

The server runs on the remote computer, waiting for requests from client. You can connect more users to the server.

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: ZTreeWin File Manager August Sale - 50% Off
« Last post by yksyks on August 23, 2007, 12:45 PM »
If you hit Alt+Enter while the program is running, it will switch to full screen text mode.

Thanks for that tip - that's better. ZTWin takes me right back to dos and Norton. Memories... It DOES work with 4NT, etc. I'm going to trial it to see if I actually use it (given that I have DOpus and XYPlorer already). Hmm... wonder if it will run off a USB stick?

Actually I don't like this, mainly because of the delay of monitor recovery from the mode change. Besides, on modern monitors you can set the ZTW window to show much more characters (both width and height) than you could in full-screen mode. And it will look much better, you can select font and its size.

Of course, it runs on USB quite well, this is the very first application I'm always carrying with me.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean, but certainly you can run ZTreeWin from the 4NT command line. I'm not using this very often, I prefer to run ZTW (or several instances of it) separately and in bigger window than 4NT allows, but for the case I need to navigate command prompt to any folder it's very convenient and fast to start ZTW, navigate there using the incremental search or history, press Alt-Q and I'm there.

Definitely try it out and enjoy!

Living Room / Re: Free landline calls?
« Last post by yksyks on August 12, 2007, 05:36 PM »
I'm not going to make any advertisement here, but for those interested: I'm using VoipBuster (http://www.voipbuster.com/en/index.html), which is another client of Betamax GmbH & Co., like most mentioned in this thread. They only differ in the free destination countries list.

I can confirm I'm absolutely satisfied and I don't use my current landline anymore (only for incoming calls). The quality is excellent, usually better than Skype. More, it uses SIP standard, so you can even use SIP phone instead of a PC client. Or, using USB Telbox B2K with proper software you can connect your PC client to an ordinary analog phone, optionally together with your landline at the same time. Then when you pick up the handset the PC client pops up, you can dial using your phone's keyboard, etc.

Recommended!

For me using a single pane browser is not "going back", I seldom need it--ZTree usage differs from all those mouse extensive browsers. But if you want it, just press F8 (or configure ZTree to use it all the time).

This is not a modern GUI at all--it's a console application, so all you can do is to change its window size, fonts and colors. On the other hand, if you're a keyboard maniac like me, you can't have any faster file manager with many additional functions, and you'll certainly won't miss drag & drop support. However, some operations could be performed with a mouse, if you insist. For me ZTree quickly became indispensable.

Any news regarding taming disk access (as discussed at https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=6803.0). That's the only feature I'm missing. Is it feasible at all? Thx.
