I know it worked in 17 and when I first upgraded to 17.1. But somewhere between 17.1 and 17.2 my WiFi stopped working.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. However Wifi is easily the top 3 issue with Linux in my admittedly limited experience.

Doesn't smf have builtin ignore list feature? Surely it does.

Mint 13 on a decent Lenovo laptop. Wifi dropped connections so often I am only able to use it reliably wired. I posted here about it a couple of years ago (googling 'Mint or other distro wifi not working' was/is a very good indication of the prevalence of Linux and Wifi issues).  The reason I am posting this is I am pretty certain going back version (major ones at least) is probably the wrong way.

A link to mark as read is in drop down menus on other forums by default. vBulletin's had it since v.2 for example

Speaking of message boards in the traditional sense.... Looking purely at frontend interface something like Mybb is simple, nice and clean but it will not come close to commercial ones or the likes of SMF or phpBB in wide selection of addons and feature possibilities.

As for forums not dying, if dying is not the word something close to it is. Of course very large ones still exist but I confidently say "traditional" forums internet wide are easily 50% of users of 10 years ago, active users is probably closer to 25%.

The move towards short and quick like twitter and snapchat or places where you know everybody is there like facebook. There are certainly big forums still around but the average user is less inclined. Not forgetting media is not really a forum's strength. Users create galleries and post videos in a much personal way using more web 2.0 tools than a thread or a reply on a forum.

Curiouser still, the Windows Insider Preview .iso download page is now disabled.

That's what I saw when I posted above and made me ask the question

StackExchange is a venue for a very specific type of Q&A format, and for that format, it is a very good resource.  You just have to know if your needs fit that type of format.  And it is very dependent on the specific community.  I've had very good experience there.

Not to drag this... If I can explain my question "well" then I can google it 9 times out of 10 and not need asking, the answer may be on stackexchange itself for all I know :D

You might have better luck on Google+ communities or Facebook groups these days. Search those two places if you can, not traditional message boards.

And yes stackexchange is a joke, they spend more energy on asking you to write your question properly than trying to help you find answers. By a huge margin.

When the insider program has the message that it's over (close to launch...), does this mean installing the last build on a pc for first time won't work or?

It is my understanding you need to either have W10 on already, so you can get the latest via update, or download the iso images from the net someplace.  I don't think MS has yet released iso for 10240 build.

If you can find an iso for 10166 with license key and put it on you will likely get the update for 10240.  The other guys at www.tenforums.com would know more than I.

Will try it and see, thanks

Even if Windows 10 is a success, Windows 13 will still be doomed. At least with that number.

They will skip it, of course  :D

A bit offtopic: I have experience in moving from a cms to WordPress, non static of course and good amount of headaches due to db  collation among other issues.

Unless something comes up, I should be available for some copy paste as well.

Another alternative in case anyone needs it is namecheap $10.69 for .com and privacy is free for first year and I believe $2.88 years after. If I am not mistaken Hover registration is $12.99 (with included privacy) so prices are pretty even.

Living Room / Re: Bing moving to encrypt search traffic
« Last post by rgdot on June 21, 2015, 08:55 AM »
If you do a Bing search for nipple clamps and select a site from the results, what's passed on to the site is a referrer letting the site owner that you came via Bing. However, what search terms you used to get there are not disclosed. The site owner can use Bing's query tools and discover that 17 people did search for nipple clamps before visiting their site, but nothing that personally identifies you will be disclosed.

That wouldn't be a new thing, as far as Google Analytics go

Am I the only person in the world who just remembers all of his passwords, instead of trusting any service (be it online or offline) to store it?
-Stephen66515 (June 16, 2015, 01:46 PM)

I remember most if not all too, but in the world needing complex passwords that shouldn't be the way if it discourages you from having passwords like dsae$^TFV11d

Not currently but used Yahoo Pipes before, never Yahoo maps that I recall.

And I agree with Oshyan.

Vigilance but not paranoia or words to that effect ;)

By the way, I am sure PC/hardware manufacturers are thrilled MS is giving people reason to keep their current systems  :P
