The playlist file is situated in the main music directory on my C: drive together with some of the audio files, while other music files from the playlist are placed in the extra music directory on my D: drive.
Both fixed 'internal' drives.

nah,.. it will take at least half a year before version 3 is ready. More likely a full year. They first update what is selling.

But of course, I might need it just as little in a year as I do now.  ;)

The hardest part for me, reaching 200 proggys, may be to say good-bye to all those invested money! ("invested"? Ha!) I ALMOST only have $hareware versions left on my PC, but still the number is beyond double up.

But of course one way would be to purchase much better programs, so I can skip all the second grade apps. One giant replacing 25 dwarfs, or so. The better programs are much more expensive, but if I add the total of all my dwarfs, they might add up to several giants! However, that will take for me to save money each month, holding back for several months until I have half a zillion. And I am not good at holding back, I suffer from premature purchasing syndrome...

Geez!! I didn't realize Explorer will show the total time of selected media files if you have Details Pane selected in Layout(or at least it does on both my Vista PCs but I have MediaInfo installed on each so I'm not sure who is doing what.)

-oh, how I have been struggling to figure out how to replicate this. I have fumbled for several hours with Vista Explorer, MediaInfo, and QTTabbar, but so far Vista will still only tell me "last modified date (period)". No 'Total Playtime' info!

What do you say, Miles; any idea how you've managed to have Explorer tell you the total playtime?
Anyone?  :tellme:

1) re-edited: my PlayTime cannot read .wpl!?

2) I see PlayTime already is able of exporting as .CSV files, so I wonder how little (much) it would take to make it capable of CREATING playlists? Or is that an all different game? The PlayTime name would still be perfect...

It may be interesting for very short period of time only. Let's say, in ten years from now, only a minority will know who characters like X-Zibit, Kim Kardashian,  Halle Bery, Paris Hilton, Usher, ever were.

..., with 8.845 Yiggles on my account, I (too) am a PREMIUM member (>>As our valued Ashampoo Premium Customer you are free to choose.<<). Actually I already had planned to get both Burning Studio 10 FULL (I only have the upgrade) and that $300 CAD-something, for my Yiggles. But I am hesitating because I don't need either of them... and I will probably never will use the CAD thing anyway. Come to think of it, the same thing can be said about almost every piece of software I have from Ashampoo. Hmm... What's new?

re-Edited:
Eve, dear,..ehh... sorry; Mike, my man, Mike, don't you miss playing around with all sorts of programs? I mean, I don't *use* all my programs, but I do 'play around' with all of them!

Nonesense, sorry.

I also have 120% version 7 installed, and I like Ashampoo's better for the very simple reason that the Ashampoo GUI is made for dummies like me!  ;)

go to benware.org, and install Id3ToFolder. I use version 2.21; the new version 3_BETA works fine but is a bit confusing to me. Do the settings (you can copy mine), try first with a single folder, check. When okay, do it with the entire directory  while you're walking the dog!

Yes, I agree with you, diva; the thread is about on-line solutions and not about off-liners like Babylon. Otherwise I  WOULD HAVE  displayed this picture from an old thread from year 2007:

The poll seems to be missing an "OFF-Line dict's only"... I know the world is full of fantastic dictionaries etcetera, but it is so easy (and common) for me to merely Ctrl+RightClick and see the result at once in Babylon, that I almost never will search another place. Due to money, the best of the dictionaries are already a part of my Babylon: Merriam-Webster Thesaurus & Dictionary, Britannnica Concise Encyclopedia, and of course the free Wikipedia, hEnglish Advanced, etcetera etcetera.

Wikipedia is my favourite on-line thingy, but because I am using Firefox  I have some more on-line machines close at hand:

# = No, it was from "Won't Get Fooled Again". Only thing is, I was, wasn't I; fooled again!
As I recall, the Who were one of many groups inolved in the "Rock Opera" Tommy - So tehnically either answer would be correct.
-Stoic Joker (May 20, 2010, 05:48 AM)

Only, it wasn't from Tommy.

>>"Won't Get Fooled Again" is a song by the rock  band The Who. Written by Pete Townshend, it combines guitar power chords with heavily processed organ and synthesizer sounds to create a textured, atmospheric introduction that explodes into the verse. It tells of a "revolution of revolutions" in an endless cycle, where "the change it had to come, we knew it all along" but each successive new regime turns out to be just like the old one "meet the new boss, same as the old boss", so that straight away it's time once again to "pick up my guitar and play, just like yesterday, then I'll get on my knees and pray we don't get fooled again".

The original version of the song appears as the final track on the album Who's Next. The 1971 single release (a drastically edited version at three-and-a-half minutes in length) reached #9 on the UK Singles Chart, #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #14 on the Australian Singles Chart (Go-Set).[1]<<

When I first looked at my new Burning Studio 10 (Beta) Tommy started playing inside my head: "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss". Well, at least I think to remember that it was from Tommy#. I am not meaning to say that Burning Studio ever was the boss, but it may be hard to tell the difference between version 9 and version 10, as it also was between version 8 and 9. "Of course", some might say, "it is Ashampoo; what were you expecting? You said yourself they will name it a major versions upgrade  when a honest company will call it a minor versions update!" - and they would be partly right, saying so. "Only partly?". Yes. To be honest, Ashampoo seems to be putting all of their powers into the Burning Studio; the list of features is  * L .. O .. N .. G *! Frankly, it is much too long to quote here, so go and have a look for yourself at their site:

thanks a lot for all the inputs.

The problems went away when I removed Outpost and installed Online Armor++   I hope!

However, when I think back on the various blue screens, or more correctly when I think at what happened the seconds before the blue screens, I think I remember that at least 3 out of 4 times, I was just about to enter some homepage. Well, today I was changing the settings inside AnVir Task Manager Pro, and the following words that I never read or understood before  suddenly made new sense to me:

2010-05-19_174648-728.gif

This will explain why Outpost was able to cause problems; it was checking all traffic and each and every homepage I was visiting. AnVir knew all along that such a feature can cause errors! Now you and I can finally know it, too.

XXClone is maybe what you want, ...  However, ..., I suspect there are a few issues.

I remember trying XXClone back then, around 2007, and I think to remeber that the problem was that it doesn't fully support Unicode; Most of the way, but not all of the way.

-----

Regarding zip, etcetera: I want to be able to browse my backup, in Explorer, just as you would brose your every day hard drive. Further more I download several zip files each day, so I *know* first-hand that they are much too fragile for back up jobs. There is not a month without "container may be broken, etc...". This is unacceptable for a back up. So in general containers are not wanted, zip containers in particular.
