I am not one of those who might care too much about other people's blogging or blog editor problems (my Firefox spelling editor didn't know "blog" or "blogging" right now!), because I have not yet started a blog myself. But of course one day I just might, so I am curious how to maybe do it via Firefox. Did you try ScribeFire (or maybe you don't use Firefox or Chrome?) which some of the posts spoke so highly about?

well, I had to try out my new Copywhiz  :-) It really is a renewed PikyBasket. And it is not a competitor to TeraCopy in any way: Right-click and copy-whiz any file, and another, and another, from here and there and everywhere,,, and then right-click and paste-whiz the lot at once! Or paste "special" or "advanced"...

Remember, it is for Explorer (and Total Commander, xplorer2 , Directory Opus, RecentX, XYPlorer, and ExplorerXP), not Internet Explorer.

Edited:
"Paste" and "Paste Special" will do for me, but here is also "Paste Advanced":

General Software Discussion / No, you cannot upgrade to MS-DOS
« Last post by Curt on June 04, 2010, 11:45 AM »
Wow, this is confusing to me!  :o

The last MS-DOS was version 8, produced in year 2000. Version 5 was made between 1991 and 1993. Maybe the question was about NT version 5 and 6 ? Of course NT is build upon MS-DOS, but that doesn't make it MS-DOS, it is still NT. NT 5 was used for XP, and NT 6 for Vista. I will assume (as Josh obviously did) that the question is about NT ?? However, my worry is that if you fail to understand the difference between MS-DOS 6 and NT 6, then you're bound to make some crucial mistake.

re-Edited:
So my advice would be not to go alone, if you insist on upgrading (upgrading from XP to Vista, that is; it is impossible to "upgrade" to MS-DOS, because Microsoft stopped using MS-DOS ten (10) years ago!).

----------
or maybe you really want an original MS-DOS 6.22 from June 1994 ?
-it was the last MS-DOS to be launched without Windows!

I found this post from TeX on the MG forum that explains better what happened, and also explains what WUG is:
And finally a question: Would it be possible that MG could host the portable and U3 version of XSP also?

Sorry, Darwin. I have both, but I don't remember using PikyBasket for the last couple of years, so I am not expecting to ever have a qualified opinion on Copywhiz, either.

Copywhiz will install in different folder from PikyBasket

Because of the insolvency of WUG ...

It is always time to learn something new. And this certainly was new to me even it was from half a century ago:

WUG

Wug test

The wug test is an experiment in linguistics, created by Jean Berko Gleason in 1958. It was designed as a way to investigate the acquisition of the plural and other inflectional morphemes in English-speaking children.

There are three plural allomorphs  in English:

    * /z/, the most general form (dogs, pronounced /ˈdɒɡz/)
    * /s/, which appears after voiceless consonants (cats, /ˈkæts/)
    * /ɨz/, which appears after sibilants (horses, /ˈhɔrsɨz/).

The child is presented with a drawing of an unfamiliar creature, often blue and bird-like,[1][2] and told, "This is a wug." Another wug is revealed, and the researcher says, "Now there are two of them. There are two...?" Children who have successfully acquired the allomorph /z/ of the plural morpheme will respond: wugs /ˈwʌɡz/.

Very young children are baffled by the question and are unable to answer correctly, sometimes responding with "Two wug."

and more...
-Wikipedia

guess it was another WUG  8)

Guess I can stop waiting for an updated version of X-Find now...

sorry that I also have brought confusion to the thread:
Xteq is fine and kicking. And freeware. X-Find will most likely be updated, in time.

The reason I listed Xteq's programs was that they used to handle the support for X-Setup.

just two tiny snippets from the long list of features:

... With the BartPE Enabler Tool, you can use X-Setup Pro on a bootable CD-ROM created by the freely available BartPE system. This means, you can put X-Setup Pro on a CD, boot this CD on any computer and tweak the settings without even installing X-Setup Pro. This can also be a huge help for repairing a misbehaving system.

Network administrator will love X-Setup Pro Recording. Simply turn recording on, change the settings you want and it generates a *.REG file on the fly that can be deployed to thousands of computers without installing X-Setup Pro.

X-Setup Pro uses XML-based plugins - they are very small (3-6 kB) so updating them is easy too. You can always view the source for any plug-in, and even create your own plugins or wizards and use them in X-Setup Pro.

The mother of all Windows-tweakers has died!, but is now free.

Dead:

Because of the insolvency of WUG all operations regarding X-Setup Pro have been shut down.

You can still download the last version from Major Geeks: www.majorgeeks.com/download4083.html

After I wrote my original post, I discovered that ClipCache Pro has this sort of capability. It is called Clipboard Routing and I am trying it out to see if it suits my desire.

I would be pleased if you will tell the result of your test. Clipboard Routing has been of the many features on my computer's programs that I haven't tried because I had no idea what those words meant. ;-)

Copywhiz is marginal easier to use than PikyBasket.

If you purchased the suite (and don't have programs like Open++ installed), Copywhiz will make it good sense to so far keep both PikyTools & PikyFolders, because you can't get them any more!

To upgrade from PikySuite: $10
To purchase full key for Copywhiz: $20
Homepage: http://www.conceptworld.com/Copywhiz

Out of the three products PikyBasket, PikyTools & PikyFolders that were part of PikySuite, we have discontinued PikyTools & PikyFolders. The reason being, redundancy of similar features in Windows Vista/7 and also their incompatibility with 64-bit Windows.

We are pleased to let you know that we have launched the new version of PikyBasket by a new name called Copywhiz.

Many users felt that the previous version (PikyBasket) was not easy to use. We agree to them completely. The new version Copywhiz is simpler & more intuitive. Copywhiz is now compatible with 64-bit Windows and also lighter than PikySuite (no extra programs run in the background). Also, we have removed the desktop basket icon in the new version.

Please visit http://www.conceptworld.com/Copywhiz to learn more about Copywhiz.

Installation: Copywhiz will install as another program on your system. You can continue to use PikyTools & PikyFolders and also disable PikyBasket after installing Copywhiz. PikyBasket can be disabled from PikySuite's Preferences.

Thank you very much for your continuous co-operation & encouragement.

The Conceptworld Team,

Look for FWIW ?

"FWIW" is short for "For What It's Worth"
"FWIW" is Internet slang, meaning "for whatever help it may provide" or "for whatever its value may be"

This is not precisely what you asked for, but it is really good, and it is there:

CreateShortcutThere v1.0

Rightclick a file and select the contextmenu CreateShortcutThere... to choose where to place the shortcut

Bits du Jour - Comment Reply

There has been a reply to your comment on the Bits du Jour comments board for Reshade Image Enlarger by Roger Thomasson.

“@ Curt

No, we haven't been hacked :-)

RegNow recently requested that all purchase, download, and affiliated links be converted to hotdownloads.com links.  You'll notice that howdownloads.com sport a "Digital River" logo -- that's the parent company of RegNow and a number of other eCommerce providers.

We've been using the converted hotdownloads.com links for several months now with no issues.

Sorry for the confusion!

General Software Discussion / I think Bits du Jour has been hacked!!
« Last post by Curt on June 01, 2010, 06:08 AM »
Today I wanted to purchase a discounted license for Reshade Enlarger, so I clicked "buy" on the Bits du Jour homepage. However, instead of taking me to https(://www.)regnow(.com)/softsell/... I was re-directed to the IDENTICAL (identical as a picture!) http(://www.)hotdownloads(.com)/softsell/... where I clicked "order" and was taken to https(://www.)hotdownloads(.com)/softsell/..., and Firefox started warning me.

To me this sounds as if Bits du Jour has been hacked!!   :o
