Wrong. It's a pole shift. The world will have 1000 tsunamis all at the same time. All life will be extinguished, except for the zombies. Oh, forgot - a zombie apocalypse will start in the morning. The pole shift is at noon. Alien invasion in the late afternoon, and the rapture in the evening. :P

Two hours into my first day of work as a Wal-Mart greeter, an ugly woman came in with her two kids. Hearing her swear at them, I said, 'Good morning, welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice kids, are they twins?' The mom answered, 'Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7. Why would you think they're twins? Are you blind or stupid?' I replied, 'I'm not blind or stupid. I just couldn't believe someone slept with you twice. Have a good day, and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.' My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work!

From other side of the fence:
http://www.theverge....hat-they-really-mean
-fenixproductions (December 18, 2012, 04:37 PM)

The new terms actually make things clearer and — importantly — more limited. That "on, about, or in conjunction" with language is dead and gone. Now you're only agreeing that someone else can pay Instagram to display your photos and other information only in connection with paid or sponsored content. These phrases have very specific meanings — Instagram can't sell your photos to anyone, for example. It simply doesn't have permission. And Budweiser isn't allowed to crop your photo of a bar, slap a logo on it, and run it as an ad on Instagram — that would go well beyond "display" and into modification, which Instagram doesn't have a license to do

Seems like splitting hairs.

Thanks for posting that Phil. I hadn't seen those.

I just found this:

A news report on it. I'd not seen it as we don't have a TV at home.

I remember the one fellow in there, Francis Armstrong (from the video), spraying the hose there. The cool water was certainly welcome. My thoughts there were about thanking god there was some kind of fire retardant to help us.

The fellow that helped pull him out, I remember him afterwards at the side of the road, but don't remember talking to him. (I should walk down the street and say hello.) I wasn't even looking at anyone else, and only saw him after I'd gone back home, washed the blood off, and come back. I couldn't have gotten that fellow out without help there. I was just too fixated at the time.

One of the people in the news video said, "I'll never forget the guy, um, like smashing his window from the outside, trying to scream for his life." I do hope he remembers to vote libertarian~! :P (Sorry... Had to sneak that in~! :P )

Phil, thank you for that. It meant a lot to me and I really appreciate it. I was a bit busy to record any video there. :D

It was a pretty traumatic event for me as I'm not used to that.

So for luck I left the house at 12. Got to the store and played 12 lottery tickets at 12:12. Picked all sorts of fun numbers. Fibonacci numbers. Prime numbers. Birthdays. Ages. Random numbers. Squares, roots, powers of 2, etc. Spent $12.10.

HA! See! Infidels! Non-believers!

There are MOAR than just integers! The cosmos is with me!

It has sent me a sign, in the form of a winning lottery ticket!

Just how much did the god's of fortune rain down on Renegade?
$21.40 :P

What will Renegade do with his new found fortune?
Blow it on a lottery that's drawn before December 21st, 2012, just so that I can be rich for a short time before the world ends due to...

Send me:

  • $5.00 for a hint
  • $50.00 for specifics
  • $500.00 for exactly how you will expire
  • $5000.00 for how to stop the end!

Act now or lose out on this once in a lifetime opportunity~! ;D

What the hell? Renegade, tell us the story!

He did here, please pay more attention to your forum  ;D

That has definite Basement material in it that is likely to be inflammatory for some people.

Anyways, I wanted to get it down along with some of the thoughts that were speeding through my head at the time, and wrote it up here:

I left out the grizzly parts as they're better forgotten.

Aaaaannnd... Looks like I popped a stitch. I've splinted it, so back to slow typing again.

On the other hand, it is a good way to avoid import taxed on the "Value" of the item being shipped.   :P

Unfortunately not in the UK - import duties are charged on the value of the package (including shipping costs!). I have been stung by this more than once buying from Amazon.com.

HUH?!? You've got to be kidding... On shipping costs? Cripes. They have no shame when it comes to looting people.

Anti-slip material:
 (see attachment in previous post)
The blue material in the image has been much handier than I expected.

Use it to open jars, stabilize tablet / pc stands, support make-shift arrangements for standing tablets, etc.

IIRC, obtained some at a Daiso store.

It looks like the stuff I used to line our cupboards. Never thought to use it elsewhere though. That might be because it's all used already. :D

IIRC, I bought it in a roll. Was that how yours came?

I've got one, but a little different.  Mine looks like a toilet and shoots water up from a spigot close to the water level.  The reason the cats like drinking from it so much is because it's aerated, which makes the water taste better.  Basically the same reason our inside faucets have aeraters, mixes in oxygen into the water giving it a better taste.

I thought that oxygenation was why, but couldn't remember where I heard it.

These are good to have for cat owners because the more cats drink the less chance they have of having urinary tract problems, which cats are well known for....

Didn't know that.

...everyone must pay...

The dominant theme. Pay, pay, and pay more.

Why must people be forced to pay? Why not just have the radio/TV stations actually have a business model other than stealing from people? Why not just give people the freedom to pay for what they want? Is that too much to ask? To not have the fruits of your labour stolen from you?

Saw an interesting little graphic:

The UN's failure is our victory:

http://www.rawstory....ternet-treaty-fails/

A proposed global telecoms treaty that would give national governments control of the internet has been blocked by the US and key western and African nations. They said they are “not able to sign the agreement in its current form” at the end of a International Telecoms Union (ITU) conference in Dubai.

Thank God.

There is NEVER a good reason to regulate, control, and censor information.

An interesting article on an app that helps to lose weight:

http://www.scienceda.../12/121210163628.htm

People who used the mobile phone technology and attended 80 percent of the health education sessions lost 15 pounds and maintained the loss for one year. The average weight loss for the mobile phone group -- including those who did not attend the education sessions -- was 8.6 pounds. The control group -- which received the education sessions but no mobile app -- did not lose weight.

Living Room / 0-Day TV Exploit
« Last post by Renegade on December 15, 2012, 08:06 AM »
Looks like TVs have joined the crowd in getting hacked:

http://securityledge...allow-remote-spying/

The company that made headlines in October for publicizing zero day holes in SCADA products now says it has uncovered a remotely exploitable security hole in Samsung Smart TVs. If left unpatched, the vulnerability could allow hackers to make off with owners’ social media credentials and even to spy on those watching the TV using compatible video cameras and microphones.

In an e-mail exchange with Security Ledger, the Malta-based firm said that the previously unknown (“zero day”) hole affects Samsung Smart TVs running the latest version of the company’s Linux-based firmware. It could give an attacker the ability to access any file available on the remote device, as well as external devices (such as USB drives) connected to the TV. And, in a Orwellian twist, the hole could be used to access cameras and microphones attached to the Smart TVs, giving remote attacker the ability to spy on those viewing a compromised set.

In short, if it has a network connection... It's fair game.

This is a pretty common scam. You see it on eBay ALL the time. I've seen shipping set at over $100. Other times you'll see the shipping is about the normal cost that you'd expect for the item for similarly small items that would fit in a common letter envelope, then there's the actual price on top of that, starting at $0.99.

Here's a picture of pure fraud:

Screenshot - 2012-10-17 , 2_05_15 PM.png

That is worth less than what is being bid, and yet the shipping is $34? $2.50 is even over priced.

Great post! :)

This all boils down to collectivist systems being inherently violent. i.e. Socialism is violence (as it is practised).

You are robbed. It's not simple theft - theft doesn't necessarily imply violence. You are ROBBED. You are put at the end of a gun, and your money is stolen from you. If you resist, you are violently punished.

The TV tax is robbery. Pure and simple. (Income tax on people is also robbery.)

But even worse, it's a tax on speech. A tax on communication. A tax on a basic human right.

It's just another example in a long string of ways that our governments are morally bankrupt, criminal organisations.

Any time you need to put a gun to someone's head in order for them to accept you "brilliant idea", that's probably an indication that your idea isn't all that great. But this is the exact violence that is inherent in the twisted brand of radical socialism we have today.
