Don't think I qualify for that particular designation, but this sounds like a question of practicality/applicability/if it ain't broke. If VLC still does what you want it to do, keep it. If it doesn't, then hopefully the audio folk here can point out the least painful alternative.-barney (August 20, 2012, 10:25 PM)

The Mission
Old browsers hurt the web! They don't understand modern technologies, lack features, they're buggy, have security holes and prevent you from seeing the web the way it should be seen. Imagine if everyone didn't upgrade their TV or computer? It would mean all the great enhancements like HD, DVD's etc would all go to waste. Imagine what you'd be missing out on!
Using IE8 and below makes the web less than what it is. Potentially holding back the web!
The PlanGo Dark For IE
Our plan: To get websites to go dark on October 26, 2012 to users of Internet Explorer below version 9.
1) I suspect ideally an empty partition would be good for the virtual machine(s) - but dont know.
2) I presume it will create a virtual drive anyway?
3) if yes to #2: can it create virtual partitions on the virtual drive?
4) if yes to #3: can files on virtual partitions be accessed from outside the virtual OS?
5) within the virtual OS, will I be able to access and modify files from the "real" machine i.e. outside of the virtual machine-tomos (August 17, 2012, 09:11 AM)
I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.-f0dder (August 16, 2012, 04:34 PM)

I only mis-typed the one word because mouser failed to believe that I could type faster than he. Your challenge has been accepted!-Josh (August 11, 2012, 02:34 PM)

You mean like HTTP 1.1, GZIP, REGEX, Per Site Filtering, USB Portability, Per-site statistics, and many other features?-Josh (July 25, 2012, 12:00 PM)
Nope - I mean like just what I said.
