No need to apologize -- these antivirus false positives are absolutely infuriating and unfair.

In this case the solution is simple and easy, especially since for security software having the source is always preferable.

Yeah I think we have to remove the EXE with so many flags even if they are false positives, just because the site will start to get marked as dangerous.  But the source code download is what people probably want anyway.

Whew, that's good to hear.  Still don't know why the problem is happening without this workaround, but at least there is a workaround..

There are a few methods available when attempting to get the automatic paging to work when doing a scrolling capture with screenshot captor..
You could also just set Screenshot Captor to capture and stay minimized and do page down manually, just hitting page down, prtscr, page down, prtscr, etc.. which shouldn't be too painful once you set Screenshot Captor to not pop up any dialog after each capture.

The other option would be to script the process using some tool and using a commandline screen capture like my MiniCap (https://www.donation...r/MiniCap/index.html).

"I'm not sure if it can be set to save separate shots per page (which I presume you'ld prefer), as opposed to making one long screenshot."

Screenshot Captor does now have an option to save each screen as a separate image (it's under the ... button after you finish the scrolling capture).

hold control and click to select multiple items one by one or shift and click to select a range.
Or Ctrl+A to select all.

Investing takes a lot of effort though. Read, read, watch, watch, think, think, buy... hold... SELL! Timing is everything.

I'll just point out that a very common theme of all of the serious investing books I have read, from absolute trusted names, are unanimous that trying to time the market and buy and sell stocks in anticipation of stocks going up and down is folly and almost certain to lead you to failure.  They all emphasize that you are not going to be able to beat the market and the professional day traders, and that the way to win the game of investing is to be cautious and put your money in for the long run in a very diversified set of conservative investments and just let your money grow with the overall trends of the market.

Hopefully we can find an existing program that already does this, but if not, the task can be broken up into 2 parts:

1. Code that detects when monitors are about to be put to sleep and saves last state (position, size maximization, etc.) of current windows (or alternatively simply saves them regularly).
2. Code that detects when monitors come out of sleep, and restores these positions/sizes/etc. after they FULLY wake up.
3. Code that can save and restore window states easily and without user interaction/configuration.

But hopefully there is something..

I think someone is going to have to write a program that memorizes window positions before they go to sleep and restores them after they wake up since Windows is doing a bad job of it..

Many people don't realize what these "I am not a robot" (re)Captcha things are actually doing..

It's pretty cool -- it's all about watching your BEHAVIOR and mouse movement:

Living Room / Re: DonationCoder Down?
« Last post by mouser on February 06, 2017, 11:44 AM »
I was just going to post about this but now ill post here.

On Saturday I flew into new york city to do the second round of cleanup of my father's apartment (he passed away last year). The first round was much more work but this was still a solid day of cleaning and sorting, and then more time coordinating tasks, etc.

Anyway, i haven't been sleeping much for a bunch of reasons including there is no bed and im just anxious about all of the processes, and i connected remotely and learned the dc server went down.  but worse was it went down in a way i had never seen before -- the normal way i use vmware vsphere to connect to the main server and reboot it was not working.  i was so overhwhelmed with other stuff and the fact that i was connecting with laptop over tethered mobile hotspot was just making everything that much more exasperating.  long story short I couldnt figure out what to do and so a whole day passed with DC unreachable.

Eventually stephen6615 talked me off the ledge on irc chat channel and we had softlayer server company reboot the hardware of the server, and once they did that, the normal vmware process worked again and i was able to restart the donationcoder virtual machine, do the little dances that are needed to make the forum come back to life without losing any data, and we are back.

I apologize for the down time --- that's the longest we've been down in many years.

The only positive thing is that this may be the kick in the pants we needed to finish moving to a new cms/server.

Unfortunately this problem has come back with a vengeance for me after swapping out monitors, and none of the posted registry edits seem to help..
Anyone else find another way around this? I'm on Win7.

I have no desire to talk to my computer, I prefer to type.  And I don't use a mobile device often.

Having said that, I have a friend who does use the voice thing with his mobile phone and can tell you without a doubt that asking your phone google to search for something using your voice is about 20x faster than typing it in.

When it works, and it works most of the time -- it can be a huge time saver on a mobile device.

On a full keyboard I'd rather just type, but for a small mobile phone or tablet -- voice searching is much more efficient.

Watching and enjoying!

Note for viewers: I think this video is really going to be of interest only to coders.

Days after former Firefox developer Robert O'Callahan said that antivirus security suites are not necessary, and AV vendors are of little help. A Google Chrome engineer has echoed the same message, reaffirming that Microsoft's built-in software is indeed the most well-behaved security suite.
