Screenshot Captor / Re: Screenshot Captor
« Last post by mouser on March 21, 2017, 03:41 PM »
What version are you using?  Do the other buttons work?
3852
There is an option "Don't ask me to confirm deletion of files" -- but note that it's in the Image Browser tool (under File menu) not in the Automatic Screenshotter tool.

New version uploaded:
v1.05.1 - Mar 21, 2017
  • Support for High-DPI displays (where text magnification setting is over 100%).
  • Improved default sound.
  • New option for capturing a specific region by coordinates.
3854
"We recommend you to not perform this action" does not sound natural in (American) English, but perhaps it would sound better to say "We recommend that you do not perform this action."
3855
Thanks very much, dluby, will fix.

Nircmd is an awesome free third party tool that I installed with LBC so that you can make buttons that do things like put computer to sleep, etc.  The antivirus programs that alert on it are being incredibly unfair to label such a program as dangerous when it is not.  Nevertheless you can always block that program if you want, it won't affect the functioning of LBC.

New beta version has been uploaded.

For those of us who occasionally test "untrustworthy" software from sources we can't be sure of, using a virtual machine is generally considered "safe".  Whatever happens in a virtual machine stays in a virtual machine -- or so we hope.

This is just a reminder that malware authors are actively trying to find ways to break out of virtual machines and infect the host pc, and to be careful.

Contestants at this year's Pwn2Own hacking competition in Vancouver just pulled off an unusually impressive feat: they compromised Microsoft's heavily fortified Edge browser in a way that escapes a VMware Workstation virtual machine it runs in. The hack fetched a prize of $105,000, the highest awarded so far over the past three days.

Hi Carl, welcome to the site
(I'm in Champaign IL by the way).

Glad to hear about the flashing being vanquished.

Sounds like I left in a debug message.  I will upload new version tonight with latest fixes.
3861
Not really what you're looking for but when the error message about autosize/stretch appears, if one opens the configuration menu without first closing the warning message, then LBC locks up.

That's helpful.

Plus, can you be more explicit about turning off stretch? I don't see an entry that matches your wording. If I check 'on' for Do not stretch, on the second docking panel, nothing seems to change.

Will do.

Something has gone terribly wrong if you have found yourself in a universe where Adobe Acrobat doesn't read pdf files..

Updated:
v1.153.01 - Mar 17, 2017
  • [MajorFeature] First High-dpi compatible version beta.
  • [BugFix] Too many backup files were sometimes being created.
  • [MajorFeature] You can now set custom icon sizes for large and small buttons (see main options tab 3).
  • [Improvement] Improved message when you try to launch a second instance.
  • [Feature] Added an "auto-size" bar to right-click bar pop-up menu.
  • [BugFix] Fixed error that could occur on rare occasions that the configuration tree attempted to display twice.

Any testing would be appreciated.

LaunchBar Commander / Re: Hoping to add custom icon sizes soon
« Last post by mouser on March 18, 2017, 12:17 AM »
This is a bit off topic but on my systems, say I have 4 hidden launch bars, when LBC starts up it redraws the bars for what seems to be the number of times that there are bars.

Ok I can confirm there was an issue with LBC recreating bars more than it had to.
(this was happening both at startup and when resolution change was detected).

I may have this fixed. Can you try the latest beta and let me know?

My only concern is that docks may not be laid out properly at boot time, since I can see that one of the reasons the extra code was there was to kludge a fix for LBC being launched before the display was properly set up.  Hopefully that bug doesn't come back.

Funny thing is, I have a high DPI monitor without the font set to over 100%, a

Well I guess I should refer to these fixes as fixes for those with Windows Text Size setting over 100%, as that is what is improved -- regardless of the resolution.  Hopefully these latest fixes won't cause any issues for those with 100% text size setting.

The latest release is a beta, not available via update.  Download link is on first post of this thread.

Some other questions. What does "First High-dpi compatible version beta" on the change log mean?
It's for people who have their windows display options set to > 100% text size, typically users with super hi-res 4k monitors.  For everyone else it should hopefully have no effect.

Those buttons are used to manually step through packets one at a time.  You would first click "Pause" and then click "Parse 1" for each new packet you want to parse, while the new packets are buffered in a queue.
It can be useful if you need to examine all packets as they come in from a requested stream, though note that it's really only useful in the initial packets as there will quickly be too many to examine..

I'm assuming that's a key that the authors of Wonderfox are ok with being given away here? If not we need to remove it.

Oooh nice!!  I always have to take the arms off my office chairs because they get in the way of my desk.  The ability to lift them out of the way would be awesome.

The Alera Elusion has been recommended on a few sites I've seen as an affordable high quality alternative to the big boys, so I bought one on craigslist without much testing, and I can't say I really like it.  I don't know it just doesn't feel very comfortable no matter how I adjust it.
