If we were living on Mars, and made all the technological advances and such..then moved to Earth...where are all the habitats and such? Why would we move to Earth but not bring any of that knowledge/tech?  :tellme:

Right. It did come to my mind. I found the answer in "Pyramid of Egypt". There are more around the Earth which we still can not explain with our knowledge till now. So maybe we did bring the knowledge/tech.

But why we lost them ? To get this answer I take myself to Mars as of now.

If I go to Mars today, I will carry my Phone, Laptop, foods, oxygen (maybe) etc. So I am carrying some thing to survive and latest technology. I need electricity but I can not carry electric plant, which is so obvious here.

Anyway when I reach Mars, I must have this connection from Earth to survive and also have the latest gadgets running. By any means, if I get cut off. I will only have human power and energy with me to survive. My knowledge and skill. I will have to find ways to get food, shelter etc. to survive. Add to it many other like me and even some couples. We can imagine what will happen as the population grows.

I am not insisting that this happened when we came to Earth. It is just logical with what we are seeing here and what we know till now.

Regards,

Anand

"But the evidence of this groundwater system potentially extends the period of time when Mars could have been habitable. And that increases the odds that life formed there. "
http://www.theverge....e-crater-mount-sharp

Was it that "we" were living in Mars and made all the latest science technology advances, like today and killed all our natural resources, like nowadays and started looking for another planet to shift, like we are doing now and found Earth habitable.

This looks more likely to me. We destroyed our planet Mars then. Now we are doing same to Earth.

I am so grateful to Mouser and DonationCoder that I can not repay ever.

DC gave me the platform to prove myself as a programmer. Now the world knows that there is a guy named, self, somewhere in this world who make some useful tools  :)

From "no one" to "some one". Thank you Mouser.  :Thmbsup:

As an update, I have three full apps ready to go with a fourth in-development.
I envy you.

Well, that might compensate a little for me not having enough time to participate this year :-[. Other chores and work have kept me too busy for the whole year to come up with something, and it's continuing to be busy for the next couple of months :huh:
Same here.

Anybody made "PAUSE the Time" App ? I need one now  :)

General Software Discussion / Re: Total Commander v9.00 Public Betas

But there is a major difference between a "classic style" and a "horribly outdated look". My SpeedCommander uses the classic white-on-blue color theme, but it still looks good. Can you imagine what it could be?
Hmm..so TC needs a "theme" option to dress it up as per users preference. Hope next version allows it or some extension may do it. But the basic should remain the same. I have forgotten that Windows has an Explorer for file management.

Actually, it's not. It's only the most obvious complaint.
And very very usable till the very last dr..er..key.

I hope they don't fall in the trap of MS converting Xp to beautiful Win 8.

Thanks for the "Feedback Hub"

It does not solve my problem but guides to post the problem to MS.

"The Feedback Hub is available for download in the Windows Store, allowing users to provide their valuable feedback about the bugs and problems to the Windows team. The app description reads: Help us make Windows better! Provide feedback about Windows and apps by sharing your suggestions or problems."

Now I know how to tell MS about their problem.

You see, when we had Win95, we did not expected any "whats new" from MS as we did not update the OS till Win98 was released. At the release MS itself made all the "whats new" news in newspaper, website and tv. Same happened for Win 2000, Win Xp, Win 7 and Win 8. It was all unto us to upgrade or not, but at least we knew what we will get on upgrade. We still have Win Xp with SP1 and we are happy with it.

Now in Win10 it always downloading something and informing "Updates installed", but how many times MS has to update for "Security fix and Critical Error fix" ? Are they always missing these fixes ? Is disabling auto updates only option now ?

Well I understand expecting from so big MS is problem, same as expecting from Google which keep updating Chrome now and then.

Hope they will understand that not all user have free unlimited broadband in their disposal and give us some "list of goodies" we may get if we update, leave the rest to us.

Anand

May be I could clarify myself. I am trying again.

I can read in other people website and blogs, say for example, "Win10 now supports title color etc."

What is the problem with MS not directly mentioning or giving a straightforward webpage with these list. Why someone else have to dig deep and find out and put for the world to see.

Not sure whether you will have tried this already:

Yes I did it many times but mostly I get "Critical Error" fix list.

I expect something like below, from another program "changes" file,

// History

v23.20

  - Brace auto-completion
    * Brace pairs defined in wordfile are auto-closed when opening brace is typed
    * If no braces in wordfile, or if file is not syntax highlighted, "()", "{}", and "[]" are used as defaults
  - String auto-completion
    * Can be disabled for non-highlighted (plain text) files
  - Lightning fast file sorting
    * Sort large files in a fraction of the time of previous versions
    * More efficient memory management when sorting

Is it expecting too much from MS ?

Anand

Win10 auto updates now and then. It gives me message that "updates installed. learn more". I try to learn more of "what's new in this update" in a "lay user term", but no. It has all sorts of information in various webpages but not a clear cut what it just gave me in this update, other that decreasing my broadband limit.

Is there a way I can see "whats new" in this version/update of Win10 ?

is the newsletter actually needed?  I mean is it something people have requested?

just wondering.

Yes. Maybe not for some but yes for me and some.
It is the newsletter which gives me scope to get all the goodies of DC in one place and scope to not check DC everyday lest I miss some gold here  :)

Case in point https://addons.mozil...irefox/addon/shelve/. I needed something like this for all the urls I have accumulated and was going to develop similar app for NANY 2017, no need now.

Thanks all to Mouser :Thmbsup:, we are always the beneficiary.

I've disabled automatic updates on my device. I usually just click "Update All" once a month and ignore any prompts about app updates until the next time I'm ready to update them.

Same here. I should be in control not the stupid phone.

Hi holt,

I will suggest you install winpatrol It is one of my MUST_HAVE.

It will give you list of "startup Programs" and you can easily disable which you do not want, like "Glarysoft updater" here.

This simple horse algebra question has left the internet baffled – but can YOU solve it?

They say the answer is 21. I say it is 42(with MDAS order of operations). Who has the problem with their math?

are you making the mistake of thinking that there is a pair of boots and a pair of horseshoes in the last line?
Or am I missing something :-\

Converting images to letter,

a + a + a = 30
a + 2 b + 2 b = 18
2 b - 2 c = 2
c + a * b = ?

Solving the Algebra equations,

3 a = 30
=> a = 30 / 3 = 10

a + 4 b = 18
=> 4 b = 18 - a = 18 - 10 = 8
=> b = 8 / 4 = 2

2 b - 2 c = 2
=> 2 c = 2 b - 2 = 2 * 2 - 2 = 4 - 2 = 2
=> c = 2 / 2 = 1

c + a * b = 1 + 10 * 2 = 1 + 20 = 21

Answer 21

Regards,

Anand

P.S. Somehow the horse image is not showing in the quoted message. Tried many times but could not set it.
