does anyone still have the downloaded file for Canvas for OneNote 2010?
-Jimdoria

I have found this:
http://web.archive.o...e/Pages/default.aspx
Clicking on "TRY IT" you get CanvasForOneNoteSetup.msi whose files are dated 2009.
Is it the one you want?

General Software Discussion / Re: Does the browser Opera suck?
« Last post by Giampy on October 15, 2012, 09:46 AM »
When I started this thread I believed those drawbacks depended on my inexperience and ignorance about Opera, therefore I expected some solution.
I see instead nobody has provided a solution to the drawbacks I reported (*).
At this point I believe Opera is just in that way. Keep it or leave it.
If so, what a shame.

(*) though points 1 and 2 can be solved enabling the "Automatic Redirection". What a beautiful new: even using Opera I may enter in Facebook and then ending up again in that Spanish tourist website I already know...

6) even if I enable the "Automatic Redirection", when I change website I sometimes get the message:
"Moved Permanently
The document has moved here"
A further useless click is required...

7) when I scroll a page, the text doesn't flow smoothly. It moves like a squeeze box or a worm: it shrinks and then it expands, it shrinks and then it expands etc...

8) in the search box of http://www.wordreference.com, to start the search I must press Enter twice, one Enter doesn't work (it may seem a trifle indeed, but considering that I use very often Wordreference, and adding together the points 1...7, such drawback becomes a further bother anyway)

General Software Discussion / Does the browser Opera suck?
« Last post by Giampy on October 10, 2012, 05:18 PM »
I would leave Internet Explorer as many people blame it for security reasons. In fact in the last months I have been sometimes victim of redirections towards unwanted website.
Some days ago I began to use Opera with Ghostery and AdBlock. First of all I disabled the "Automatic Redirection". I was happy!
But I soon found out severe drawbacks.

1) when I click on a link, when I want to go in that website, Opera often asks me the permission. That is just annoying and useless as my operation is not a redirection by an intruder website: it's a direct operation by the user, it's the will of the user.
It's still more deplorable when the destination address is similar to the starting address. For example, if I am in http://www.microsoft.com/x and I want to go in http://www.microsoft.com/y it's obvious it's not a redirection by an intruder website

2) if I choose certain websites from the address bar (like http://www.winpenpack.com and http://www.vipreantivirus.com) Opera brings me to that website. It's right. But I see nothing. I see a white empty page

Moreover:

3) setting the fonts of the characters for the websites is a great confusion. I haven't found a help page

4) characters are badly readable as their stroke is very thin, thinner than the characters we usually see in all the other programs (note: the stroke is thin, while the height is normal)

5) from the address bar it's possible to see the list of the recent websites (just like in Internet Explorer). They are badly readable as they are pale blue on a white background. Besides I can't delete the useless ones

Is there a solution for those drawbacks? Or must I come back to the "dangerous" but relaxing Internet Explorer?

I apologize if I bore you with personal matters. I hope my troubles may be useful/interesting for someone else too (but I don't believe it).

Could this be a driver conflict issue?  Don't have a clue how you'd hunt it down, though, other than trial and error

There is a little new: yesterday I have seen those images just while they were changing colour.

I look at an image. It's normal. If I open other windows (for example I start 7Zip, Explorer, the window of the properties of the files etc...), within some seconds the image slowly becomes reddish. If I close those new windows, within some seconds the image slowly returns to normality.

My monitor is perfect. No doubt. Those few photos instead still show their variable behaviour without a known reason.
I feel the reason is a software matter. I suspect the viewer of XP ("rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1") is conditional on something... but I don't still understand what.

In the meantime, since 29 August, have you got some idea?

what changed?

That's just the point: in my PC and monitor nothing is changed.

Any Internet page, any program, any photo, the desktop, and so on... everything is fine for years. Some weeks ago instead, those few photos have spontaneously got that slightly red veil. No reason.

I have realized that veil is not permanent. If I open/close the viewer more times, if I jump among the photos, that veil sometimes disappears and the next time it may appear again.

I have hundreds of photos downloaded from Internet. I have perfectly fine-tuned those photos with regard to brightness, contrast, colours etc... I look at them by the viewer of Windows Xp.
Few weeks ago some of those photos, and some of them only, suddenly appeared slightly red. I perfectly remember to have fine-tuned them too.
Such thing, really unexplainable, has thrown me in a deep uneasiness and uncertainty.
I am sure my question is hopeless: can you explain what has happened?

But if you visit sites of that... quality... where they use advertisements that are allowed to use those tactics? You really, really, really shouldn't be browsing without NoScript + AdBlockPlus. Heck, people who frequent that kind of warez/pr0n/stream-tv-shows sites should be doing so from a browser not just with NS+ABP, but preferably a sandboxed one, and it definitely wouldn't hurt running it from a VM.

I want to clarify that website is not of that kind. It's more serious. It shows the list of Tv programs just like http://au.tv.yahoo.com/tv-guide for example.

General Software Discussion / A strange Hijack?
« Last post by Giampy on August 02, 2012, 06:22 AM »
Hail!
Every day I see dozens of websites without inconveniences. When I instead surf into a certain website (it shows Tv programs) I am sometimes redirected to other extraneous pages. I usually see a page that claims I got a virus and that page offers the way to delete that infection. Of course it's all false.
As far as I know such behavior is typical of an Hijack (or similar) but I have a doubt: is it possible/normal that a Hijack hits one website only and that website only?
Besides: such Hijack is affecting me or that website? Who should be worried, me or the owner of that website?

General Software Discussion / A better sound
« Last post by Giampy on July 28, 2012, 11:58 AM »
Music from YouTube and similar is sometimes bad. It's the perfect example of "digital" sound in the worst sense of the word: cold, cutting, caustic, harsh, metallic. Who has refined ears surely understands what I say.
Do you know a tool to improve the situation? Do you know a tool to soften that sound?

A man comes back home after one year of work abroad.
Of course he is very happy to see his wife again but he is also worried about her marital fidelity.
She says: "My dear, at last you are here again! You can't realize how much I have suffered because of your absence... I have spent all that endless time living alone, in a deep solitude, waiting patiently and faithfully for you... what a pain to lie every night in our bed, alone with my tears, without someone who comforted me...".
The man feels better now.
When it's night, of course they make sex and they do it very noisily.
From the other side of the wall a neighbor screams:
Spoiler
"Stop it!!! Stop iiiiiit!!!!!! Every night the same story!!!"

General Software Discussion / Re: Choice.com and Choice.exe for Windows XP
« Last post by Giampy on July 14, 2012, 08:07 AM »
Looks like you can use "set /p" on XP:
Choice_(command)w

Yes, I knew Set /p, but it requires to press Enter after the choice. Only an idiot can design a program that requires Enter when the choice consists of one character only. I refuse to use it. It’s a matter of principle.

I am using Choice.exe from http://hp.vector.co....nesup/dkclonesup.zip and it is fine.

In this video there is a nice music and dozens of moments where the eyes of famous actors/actresses looked straight at the camera.
If you see this video using the direct below link to Youtube, see the video in full screen mode so the texts will not cover the images.
