Contro, some interesting freeware such as STDU Viewer and STDU Explorer can be found here:

Interesting indeed, but don't cover dwg and doc. Or I think so.

Ohhhh Yessss. I promised test deeply.  :-*
I am beyond many whats and returning. I have to complete the vast information project with your program.

Best Regards
 :P

As you said the program now copy directories, even empty folders. Give information about process copying shortcuts and make copy of the entire original folder any, but give election to copy or not copy the shortcuts, even rewriting. Splendid.

I understand the possibility to rewrite shortcuts not in the original folder, only in the target folder. That's the transformation.
I understand the possibility to delete shortcuts in the original folder, but for me is not interesting this thing. May be only in the case I want to transform the original folder in the target folder in the same position.
Perhaps I am confusing myself.

Ouwwww. That's not my spirit. I use shortcuts precisely to not duplicate file space. With seven real hard disk in my new pc I am plenty of space. Super plenty of space. I think a hard drive goes better is plenty of space. Today is easy with disks of 2 TB with variable speed.
I have downloaded the soft and try for the future.
 :P

At the present moment I need to export some information and create recopilations of real files under relative hyperlinks under one single folder. Not a dozen folders inside 7 hard disks specialized. That's is mi situation for the rest of my life, but not for the rest of the world I need to communicate.

Sometimes I need duplicate the information in one single folder to share.....

Better to share.

General Software Discussion / Re: Portable hyperlinker
« Last post by Contro on February 23, 2011, 12:06 PM »
I think with relative hyperlinks is possible with word 2002. but I don't know if is possible to modify the the initial hyperlinks by the final ones, or obtain a list of existing hyperlink to modify before burn to a cd/dvd/usb or external drive.
The problem is the work system used. Initially I used a folder to the topic I want to export to cd/dvd/usb or external drive. I build that folder with many links to my disks (image disk O: , data disk Y:, and a large etc of special uses).

Then I make a new folder in other place and recopile everything with shortcuts in a special way : crono and theme organize by month, date and so on.

Then I transform the shortcuts to real files and folders inside that new folder. With a program developed by 4wd

https://www.donation...?topic=25770.new#new

Then I create the word document and begin the explanation linking to folders, files, images, sound, videos and any element contained in that new folder.

If I have to used this presentation again I can add the newer real files , modify the word document, or even create a newer folder in other place, if I use relative hyperlinks.

Suppose I have a word document in the older first folder with hyperlinks to several files, folders in several disks. Can I obtain a list of the hyperlinks to edit with ease ?

Best Regards
Excuse my language and "complexity". I think I must simplify all this. aSuite have no spanish language and I would like in spanish because the final user is spanish.
I use many years ago locate32 for indexing my seven hard disks at the present moment in the new pc, and four hard disks in the old one.  :-\

Where can I find information and software for the webserver to be used in local mode (I have seen in the past cd/dvd developed in this way) or even specialized software to make menus on usb, cd, dvd...... ?

Best Regards

General Software Discussion / Portable hyperlinker

Portable hyperlinker

I would like to know about soft for :

I have a folder in my pc with subfolders and files inside. In the main folder a would like to put a director document or a sort of menu with explanations (I was thinking in word xp with hyperlinks to the documents - images, audio, video, pdf, doc, etc)
But I need relative hyperlinks because I can change the entire folder to another location (usb, dvd, external hard drive....) .

I prefer a freeware because I give that information in a disk to other people. No problem with anyone format of file because everyone has free soft for reading like universal Viewer.

There are several hundreds of links. So it's necessary a sof with alternatives finding the shortcuts in every situation.

Do you know anyone ?

Best regards

(this is only an introduction). Your splendid codesnack is finished at the above state.
By the way. I am looking for a sort of director file with universal shortcuts or something near that.

I try to explain the best I can. In the main original folder I use by example (a document word xp) with links (hyperlinks) . I suppose i will lose those links when move the .doc document to the new folder. And obviously sure when I move the word document to a cd/dvd/usb/external hard drive.

I use from many years ago a CRM Goldmine 5.5 that have the possibility to offer alternativas paths when an original link is not found.

http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/198/screenshot2202201109060.png

I don't know the exact concept behing : universal shortcut. Perhaps have other utilities like explore other hard disk when the link is not found in the first. Or a desktop shortcut tha may vary according the external disk you have connected.

When me like a little ant have to link several hundreds of linked files revised each time I move the word document is a tedious task.

Anyone knows alternatives ?

Best Regards

Miroirs - Makes it easy to replicate complex directory structures without copying the files within
(see attachment in previous post)
http://www.scanialab...Miroirs/Miroirs.aspx

Requires .net

I don't know. I try treecopy as a portable version. But to solve the recursevely mode I think an array.
to control over the past copy shorts.

wasnt there a dc app/coding snack that did this as well (?)

Sorry, I know English isn't your native language but I'm still having trouble following what you need to happen.

Is there any chance you could give me a sample before and after folder structure.

eg. Can you do 'dir /b /s (source path) >src.txt' and then create the destination as you wish it to look and do 'dir /b /s (dest path) >dest.txt' and then PM me the two text files ?

I'll try of my best. Excuse me. I'll tell you later.

First proofs great.

Now I need a program to reproduce the folder structure. Copy the directory structure of the original folder. I think i've seen or have something like that. I will comment.

I observed the behaviour of this wonderful program : short2real , and the initial folder only contains other real folders, so do nothing.
Over the rest of folders acts one by one interacting with the user to transform file shortcuts and folder shortcuts to real files and real folders.

I have to test the behaviour under hard circunstances like more deeper shortcuts or cycle shortcuts.

Perhaps I can propose a better feature of this program, but from now is very useful.
