Any ideas?
An old thread, I know, but... Window Tabifier

Host several open Windows in one parent window so that you can easily access and navigate between them, as well as clean up space in the taskbar... Windows will be hosted in a tabcontrol. There will be one more tabpage called Menu which has two buttons: one for adding open Windows to the tabcontrol and another for choosing files that will be automatically opened in new tabs. You can also drag & drop files or folders from Windows Explorer on this tabpage for having them opened in new tabs automatically. You can navigate between tabs by clicking Ctrl1, Ctrl2 and so on or you can just simply hover mouse over the tab and it will be selected automatically....

i remember the big trak.. i also never got it.. dont know why.
Some parents are sooo inconsiderate!

Did everyone else in your class have one?
Apparently, every other kid always already had whatever
expensive item mine wanted, so denying them was akin to cruelty.

I STILL want one...
There's a working one in my basement, together with the trailer.
I never could quite bring myself to throw it out when my son grew up.
My wife's 9-year-old nephew was quite taken with it when he came for a visit.

Could have called it Enza.
As in 'my computer has a virus, it got in through Enza.'

Right now, if you shake a window, it will minimize all others

Can you insert any code to stabilize me after a night of heavy drinking (that Horlicks is powerul stuff)?
I'm shaking so much here that, with your program running, my windows keep disappearing!

Seriously, thanks for documenting what you're up to. It's interesting to follow these kinds of adventures on DoCo.

Why do we fail to attract nasty trolls and stupid idiots?
So, you think you're free of stupid idiots, eh?

Time for another limerick, perhaps... :o

I have yet to hear of a single person who has had Windows Defender actually defend against anything

Come now Carol, the best defense is a good offense, and WD offends many.

someone tell Microsoft to focus on operating systems and stop trying to write one of every program in the world.  not helping.

Have you not yet sent out the press release for your Microsoft Ousting Universal System Engine Robot?

Another, GUI-if-desired alternative might be Beyond Compare.
With it, you could load your files and merge the differences into one, which might satisfy your needs.

Leapfrog developed FirstDefense-ISR, I believe.
They also took it back from Raxco.

I went through the same thing a year or so ago.  Trackballs seemed to vanish from the local stores.
FWIW I bought a few Logitech models from here which all were good, and cheap (I'm using one right now).
I'm not associated with this outfit in any way but the odd item(s) that I've bought from them all have arrived well-packed and in good working order.
I'll buy from them again without qualms if/when they have something I can't find locally.

[edit: can't spell]

And sometimes, irreversible brain damage.

Isn't that the very point of learning to program ?

It certainly is, and it works too... look what happened to me  ;)

I, too, had the initial reaction that the new price was a bit of a 'gulp'.

A little thought, however, reminded me that it's nothing compared to the prices we used to pay for commercial software some years ago, nor to the prices that many larger vendors are asking. I think we've been spoiled.

It was my good luck to qualify for the upgrade price for v.3 (especially since I'd decided to fork over the full price if need be). What decided me to go ahead (apart from the improvements to the software itself) was unfailingly polite, helpful and prompt responses to any and all queries.

Neville's points about the realities of commercial life are more than valid. I certainly don't offer my clients 50% discounts!.

Acceptable cost comes down to how much an individual values a particular product or service. Surely there cannot really be any 'rights' or 'wrongs' to a price structure. The market will decide whether or not Neville's pricing is appropriate.  My own view is that if we want something to survive we should be prepared to support it. If not, well...

I remember someone showing me a formula and when it appeared it said shell oil!

I could do with a formula for Shell oil right now, just had my heating tank refilled  :(

Didn't have a four-banger until I was working for a living... I'd hate to tell you what that thing cost.

My daughter's name is Giselle, so she was intrigued to see 3773519 when the rudimentary LED display was inverted. I guess she'd have been about 8 years old.

Semaphore
Mores code

Used all of 'em to talk to and fro' when I was a kid.

[edit] I thought I'd typed "Morse".
Now I think of it, mores code seems also to be of the past.  :)

Qliner site:
"Just hold the Windows key for three seconds and up pops a on screen Keyboard with icons on the keys that are configured. This you can use , not only to remind you of hotkey combinations...." and "Use to quickly look up key combinations "

Thanks tsaint, not long ago I was trying to squeeze out that name from my memory!

Here's another possibility; Dsynchronize.
I don't have first-hand knowledge of what it can do, or how well it performs.

DSynchronize is a stand-alone utility that let you periodically synchronize two or more folders on Hard Disk, Floppy Disk, LAN, USB Key, CD-DVD (with packet writing software) and FTP server.

It is also possible to specify the time and the day to schedule the synchronization to run, and to create some additional "filters" for other factors.

Real-Time sync is also supported.

Yes, you're right. I used to have nightmares about the Soviets nuking us
I glad to have forgotten (almost) growing up in a London full of bomb craters, where virtually every street had gaping holes that once had been houses, and where food rationing was severe. Everybody had lost somebody.

And why don't we all still use quill pens, or animal blood on the walls, for that matter?
Speaking for myself, because I've plucked my goose bare and, no matter how hard I bang it against the wall, no more blood comes out.

We have no more writing fluid available, except for one tiny bottle that remains in that room where we do the cooking.
I can't find anything else suitable in the house, and I've tried everything but the kitchen's ink.

One of the 'partners' had better be good at marketing, and both had better be good at accounting.

Might be worth a try, for all that.
