i think it's just ezboard but you're right it's getting insane over there.

i think it's time move the forum over to donationcoder.com..

veblin, if you can read this, what do you say?

the ads are insane over at ezboard and the smf forum is better than ezboard in every way..

let's do it.

you absolutely can do this yourself right now, just make a folder in your start menu and create shortcuts to the control panel items you are interested in.  but part of F+R appeal is out-of-the-box already set up to search common things, so i think its worth adding to the program.

i LOVE the color scheme and font, and i think these are WONDERFUL to add to the program

But 2 requests:

1) Smaller text that doesn't touch the circle border (give some space between text and circle).
2) Maybe circle border could be a tiny bit thinner if it's not too much trouble.

Living Room / Re: Having 2 monitors - will change your life
« Last post by mouser on October 18, 2005, 06:04 AM »
there was a recent thread on the forum discussions improved free alt+tab replacements, and i think one said it supported multimonitor - see if you can find that thread and let us know what you find.

as for ultramon - i agree completely, the 2nd taskbar is super useful.  i've not seen a freeware alternative for such an app either, unforunately.

Official Announcements / Re: NEW - Automatic Instant Activation after Donating
« Last post by mouser on October 18, 2005, 05:51 AM »
That's a great point carol - but the solution i adopted does NOT require any connection between your paypal account info and your forum account info.
I know that people often like to keep such things separate and not use their good email for signing up at forums.

What happens now is that when you make a donation you are sent an "activation code" which you can use to activate any one (and only one) forum profile.

So basically after you donate you get a license key for our programs and an activation code that will let you activate any forum login you wish.   :)

I'm a bit proud of the solution actually  :D

(much of the motivation for automating this was just exactly for the reason you site, that it was a pain for everyone to have to coordinate between donations and logins - now you don't have to worry about it at all).

Official Announcements / NEW - Automatic Instant Activation after Donating
« Last post by mouser on October 18, 2005, 12:24 AM »
After some days of intense php coding, I'm happy to say that we now have a set of fully automated scripts in place for responding to donations instantly with both a universal license key for all of ours programs, and a special activation code that will let donators instantly upgrade their forum account to full charter member status on their own.

This means instant gratification the minute you donate (via paypal)

We'll still be sending out personal welcome messages to every donation but this should make it a little easier to get a good night's sleep without worrying that we are keeping someone waiting..

Those who have been with us since the begining and have donated in the past know that your donation was handled manually -
a reply was sent manually and then the forum was searched for a matching name - if it was found, it was manually updated; if not an email was sent to the donator asking them to let use know after they sign up.  License keys had to be gotten manually by person visiting the special license key page.

maybe the first plugin will simply be a plugin that can shell a command to a commandline app, capture the output, and display it nicely in the results window - seems like that would be useful for lots of things like this.

General Software Discussion / Re: How to decide which bugs to fix (and when)?
« Last post by mouser on October 17, 2005, 05:02 PM »
Start on a bug at random, and when you're halfway finished, switch to another. Repeat.
i wish this didn't strike so close to home...

you have to check out this site about apple lore that mark0 told me about yesterday, its related:
http://www.folklore.org/index.py

especially see this post which your top 10 list reminded me of:
http://www.folklore....te&detail=medium

excerpt:
"... We all gathered around as Chris showed the calculator to Steve and then held his breath, waiting for Steve's reaction. "Well, it's a start", Steve said, "but basically, it stinks. The background color is too dark, some lines are the wrong thickness, and the buttons are too big." Chris told Steve he'll keep changing it, until Steve thought he got it right. ..."

ProcessTamer / Re: feature request: historical log

the next version of process tamer coming out in the next week will be smarter about detecting when 2 processes team up to overload the cpu and punish both :)

ProcessTamer / Re: feature request: historical log
« Last post by mouser on October 17, 2005, 06:59 AM »
there is a log of when process priorities are changed (see configuration tab), but i see you are asking for something a little different, to get a complete list of all processes running when cpu priority get too high.. i think i might be able to add that.

as for the bug you report i will check into that this week - you might have found a bug in the code that is supposed to only temporarily postpone changes.

i am supposed to release a new version of process tamer very soon, i think at the end of this week(!)
so hopefully i should be able to address this stuff.

"step
 two"

"step
 three"

ugh!  :-[

i'm ebarassed to say that i just checked screenshot captor clipart directory, and you already included two excellent sets of numbers 1-10 with the clipart you already sent me last time!!!

so no need for this - we have it already! :)

in general i think png is best, it has more flexible transparency (in this case it doesn't matter though, since it is all purely transparent or purely opaque).

i like images 1 and 3.

no need to be sorry and thank you for the kind words.

the site was designed so that people who can afford to donate make it possible for us to keep the site free for those who can't, so they are really the ones to thank :)

i'll move this post into the url snooper section in a bit.

the picture above with 7 in a circle is perfect (but without the background stuff), just plain numbers 1-9 in circles like that would be great.
maybe a tiny bit thicker circle?

might be nice to have a set in black and a set in red?

ps. should be transparent outside of the circle, and not transparent inside of it.

we will get this solved, i think it's important.

one thing i'd like to know is if another "launcher" type app would suffer from this too?

if anyone finds a web page describing why this happens i'd love to take a look.
