Guess you are talking about an SD card, not SD-Ram, that's totally not compatible with car-audio :-[

Has anybody here ever even seen an Itanium-based machine, let alone worked with one?

I have, both seen and worked with, but it wasn't running Windows but HP-UX. It's rock-steady, and performs quite good, for the tasks it was designed for. Not particularly good in any Windows environment though.

Please re-read the readme file, it has samples and explanations, and weblinks to the key mnemonics to use.

Your sample could look something like this, assuming the title of your form really is 'UserForm1' :
Shell "S:\WinSendKeys.exe -w UserForm1 {TAB} a"   'try to send Tab key &&  "a"  to UserForm1

But eventually, Excel vba offers enough methods to control that dialog directly, you don't need an external tool for that.
Probably someone with more vba experience can help out here?

It's usually a troubleshooting reason.

Oh, Ok, hm, I always just try to get it set up right the first time ;) but that's without guarantees...

Since I've switched to MSE from Kaspersky, there is one thing I miss: the "block all network traffic" button.

Have you ever actually used that feature? And if so, what was happening that made you decide to turn your network off?

I've seen that (big) switch in ZoneAlarm ever since it was introduced, years ago, and I never understood what would have to happen, that I should switch the connection off :o

I think this behaviour is due to a vista theme where the progress bars animate from zero to their current spot.
and since I use xp, I didn't understand at first what you meant.

here's a customized version - see if it solves the problem for you.
and heh, I had to choose a color, green looks classic.

Pfew, that a lot less distracting. And that green is really classic, close to my car's color, British Racing Green  :-*

When clicking a bit on the +1/-1 semi-button, it changes to some count (up and down with left/right mouseclicks), that has no relation to the number of app-titles shown, don't know what that's supposed to mean? The +1/-1 didn't return, but I could it to go to "15 items shown" (and more if I wanted to), though there are only 4 items actually showing

If it's just a number, then it would fit nicely next to the "Posts:" number, and it would probably in green or gold color.

1) I like the concept of the badge counting the number of entries (or "helps" in this case).  So it would be really cool if there was a count on the badge for the number of times someone has provided a good solution for the individual asking.

You mean we can build up Kudo's here :-* That's nice, but I'd be expecting some folks to get way bigger numbers there than would fit in the standard badge icons we currently have :tellme:

Hm, it's pretty useless for registering what app is been most active, as it's selected based on the windows title instead of app-class, as the title changes with ever new page I select using my browser, or changing directories with my file explorer.

And the constantly moving progress bar is quite annoying as well, after about 10 seconds :o.

I've been running TrueLaunchBar for years now, and there is a nice "Shut Down Computer" plugin that does just what you suggest. I don't think it's available as a standalone tool though.

Hm, sorry you missed my post, earlier in this thread. I pointed to my blog to the script we used for JottiQ, that is modular, and can detect .NET 4, and download and install it during the setup phase if it's missing. I looked at the kynosarges page before, but I missed the automatic download feature, so I upgraded another initiative.

If you can wait a few hours (I'm now at the start of my working day, and I'm busy for the next 10 hours or so) I can update your script to have that incorporated.
The whirlwind at the JottiQ thread shows it's quite tested a few times ;) And it'd be for free ofcourse :D

The features Eóin lists are nice and all, but .msi installers always seem so godawful slow compared to solutions
IMHO that's some kind of a feature, it scares ppl away from MSI... :D

and how do you easily get files out of a .msi package without running the installer?

There's always Orca, a tool by Microsoft to edit an MSI, instructions for installation and use are here

Does this new caching stuff have impact on the refresh/update of the main forum page, at the bottom where the last 10 updated threads are shown? Now if I make a post, it takes a little while and a few screen refreshes for it to show up there :o

N.A.N.Y. 2011 / Re: NANY 2011 Release: Park Cursor Aside
« Last post by Ath on January 30, 2011, 09:37 AM »
More and more to my own surprise I'm beginning to love this tool. I've even enabled it at startup on my work-computer 8)
After some weeks of use I'm still not fed up with it, as I expected at first :-\

Now I myself am finding the park relative to window, better than relative to screen. You see, now the mouse cursor does not block my view of the document or field, but still is near by, specially on large monitor. Planning to make this as default for next version. But some more feedback on it will be appreciated.

I'd totally agree with this change, all I need now is the higher count of keystrokes and the black-list/white-list features. Don't rush, I understand you're busy with other stuff, but it would be really nice to have...

Another update and now WinSendKeys 2.5 is released

Latest release & download moved to separate thread

The changelog for 2.5 since the previous release, copied from the script:
; 2011-01-29, version 2.5-beta
; + Added -f strokesfile option to read keystrokes and mousestrokes from named file,
;            commandline strokes are handled first
; - Minor adjustments
; 2011-01-30, version 2.5
; ! Avoid ever overwriting the script with debug-log-file (if not .au3 or .exe extension, add .log to scriptname)
; + Added reading settings from optional .ini file:
;   Get parameters from .ini file with the same name as this script/exe, only if the file exists, create file manually!
;   Sectionname: [Settings]
;   Variables:
;   delay=100 : delay between keystrokes/mousestrokes sent to the application
;   mousestrokes=0 : Enable mousestrokes by setting this to 1
;   mousespeed=0 : Speedfactor for mouse move, value between 0 and 100, 0 = immediate, 1 = fast, 100 = slow
; - Documented and optimized script functions

Attachment includes AutoIt3 source, updated readme, a sample strokefile (.stro) and .exe

So, got the most stuff tested and corrected, and a readable readme done, so I can release WinSendKeys 2.0

Latest release & download moved to separate thread

Here's the Changelog for 2.0, copied from the script:
; 2011-01-27, version 2.0-beta,
; + Added mouse-modes, postfix with ## for ControlClick, #% for MouseClick
; + Added more logging and messages
; 2011-01-28, version 2.0,
; * Changed WinTitleMatchMode to be case-insensitive
; ! Fixed MouseClick mode
; + Allow Activate-Only by giving no keystrokes
; - Window not found message shows only in debug mode
; - Updated helpmessage

Hm, maybe Mouser could move/split this thread to the Coding Snacks/Finished section, as that's what it basically was  :-[

Attachment includes AutoIt3 source, readme and .exe

I've been fiddling with the script last night, and now it can also send mouse-clicks (so you won't need the separate ahk script for that). I'd call it v2.0 I guess :-\

I'll write down a readme, do some more testing, and wrap it all in one zip file for a little easier download, later tonight.

When creating the installer for JottiQ together with worstje, I published the Inno Setup script-base on my blog
It's a bit more modular then the template by kyrathaba, but also a bit more complex maybe... If you need any support, just ping ;)

My "Tool Properties" window fields are:
Title: WinSendKeys
Program: C:\Users\Tyler\Books\Software\Ripping books\WinSendKeys.exe
Working Dir: C:\Users\Tyler\Books\Software\Ripping books\
Parameters: (blank)
That looks alright to me, now add the below stuff into 'Parameters:'

WinSendKeys <50> <"Materials"> <"{RIGHT}">
WinSendKeys [-t 50] [-d] [-w] <"Materials"> <"{RIGHT}">
WinSendKeys [-t 50] [-d] [-w] "Materials" "{RIGHT}"

The window is "Materials Science and Engineering: An Introduction, 8th Edition - CourseSmart Bookshelf". I've tried using the full name and different lengths, different times, different keys... :/
Hm, I've used the default documentation conventions for including optional parameters in square-brackets '[]' and 'explaining words' in angle-brackets '<>', and those shouldn't be actually included in the parameter list.
If you need to use a title with multiple words separated by spaces, then surround that with double-quotes.

So your parameters could be:
"- CourseSmart Bookshelf" {RIGHT}
To select the application CourseSmart Bookshelf with an opened document (the dash before CourseSmart indicates that), and send it a 'cursor right' keystroke, just like you pressed that key on the keyboard. If you want the PgDn key pressed, replace {RIGHT} with {PGDN}. You obviously found the list I referred. ;)
The timedelay should only be changed if your application can't handle the current speed of sending multiple keystrokes. It's only applied if the keystroke names/mnemonics are separated by spaces, so:
"{RIGHT} {RIGHT}" : Sends Right-Cursor, Space, Right-Cursor without any delay
{RIGHT} {RIGHT} : Sends Right-Cursor, (delay for 100 msec), Right-Cursor
You can (and probably should) experiment/test from a cmd-prompt.

I updated the original script, to write to WinSendKeys.log when -d parameter is used, effectively re-enabling this option. The compiled attachment is ofcourse also updated.

Thanks a ton in advance!
This might have triggered me, even though I just yet read close enough to spot it :-*

Now let's wait for the OP to comment on this.

Also, I'd like to know if we're doing better with things like ctrl+enter, win+G, alt-something-or-other
Tested the Ctrl-Enter issue and build 91 at least fixes that (didn't get to see build 89, just saw 91 today).

I now have 2 issues, 1st that double-clicking the systray icon doesn't restore the main screen (like others reported), and 2nd, right-click/Show pops the main screen up at my secondary monitor, to the left of my main monitor, even though it was closed when on the main monitor...
