killed one cpu in one machine and almost certainly killed a stick of ram from cleaning out computer cases with a brush

It can be a ticklish operation!

I brought his tower into my room, connected the HD to my mobo (this was done by turning his whole computer upside down... ugh)

This I have to see.. post photos  ;D

If you can't avoid spending money, at least spend it wisely.

Unfortunately, our 2000 Altima has reached an 'epic fail.'
Thanks for the pointer!

Sorry to hear about your car.  I like to buy a decent a car and then keep it for as long as I reasonably can... I'm not keen on change.
At least now is a great time to buy.  Some dealers have inventory stacked to the rafters,  with existing contracts for more.
Of course, you need to feel there'll still be dealers around come time for parts and service.

Went to two doctors, they wanted to prescribe viagra. WTF!
Well, I'm truly sorry to learn about the headaches.

There is, however, item 2) and you do also say "I'll be in bed for 1-3 days at a time".

But I would love to have a little, battery-powered vacuum again that is made for inside computer cases. Does anyone know of any that are currently sold?
If you have a spare (or broken) tool for your vacuum, you can cut that down and then improvise a home-made step-down adapter and attach an appropriate length of small-bore flexible plastic tubing to the vacuum pipe.  With that you can get just about anywhere in the case (and clean out your keyboard).  It's easy enough to adjust the amount of air flow from the vacuum cleaner.

My house is an older model and it tends to create dust spontaneously.

 ;D ;D ;D

I have a dog that must be from the same era!

Thanks for the leaf-blower image... boggles the mind!

Bunny died in an unfortunate accident, and was replaced with a random quote script.

Pity you weren't able to retrieve Bunny's reading glasses from the coffin!

Let me get this clear.  Are you proposing, as an economy measure, to trade in Mrs. Darwin in order to free up more funds for software?

This thread reminds me of the remark, attributed to Sir Thomas Beecham, addressed to a lady cellist with whose rehearsal performance he was displeased.

What did he say?
“Madam, you have between your legs an instrument capable of giving pleasure to thousands - and all you can do is scratch it”

Wegman’s email system failed to recognize the proprietary HTML tags of Outlook and hence this goof-up.

I don't like to quibble, but those are HBTY tags.

Now to be fair, meat is expensive, but I never understood how come the warmed-over goo they so graciously pre-package for you is pennies by comparison.

Nor do you want to understand if you plan on eating it...   ;D
3466

I'm probably preaching to the choir round here but...

If you're a meat eater, drop it from your diet.
Meat's expensive, vegetables aren't nor are (some) alternative sources of protein.

A L is, or is part of, Plantronics nowadays, I think.
$20-$40 is a bit low.  You'll have to look out for a discount deal in one of your local stores, I suspect, otherwise shipping costs will kill you.
You could try your local yard/jumble/boot sales...

Now the dust has settled after the foot-stomping, fun-filled board game bonanza, let's review the situation.

Of the tangible gifts that you received during the gift-giving season which one was your favourite?

Just to stir the pot a little, was there a gift that made you cringe?

sigh
Personally, I had my hopes raised when I noticed my wife buying a nice, working, scale model of a catapult.
I pictured dogs lying stunned all around the house as my aim improved.
Alas my dreams were shattered when I discovered that it was for her eight-year-old nephew.
Apparently it was considered an unsafe toy for the likes of me.

Well, not every sport.  What about the mouse toss, for example?

You are correct, that link also 404's for me.

If you click on the small icon showing a letter 'H', however, that will show you the AutoHotKey code.
With the free AutoHotKey software you can either run that code yourself or compile it.
The AutoHotkey material is available from this link: AutoHotKey Web site

On the other hand, as a stop-gap measure, if you need someone to compile the code and upload the program, leave another message here.

And I promise to do my best to pull all the documentation together and create a PDF user manual by the time I "get" it all.

And you'll be doing most FARR users a service!
In a way, though, I'll miss the great FARR detective game a.k.a. hmmm what was that alias again?

Also, it’s much more advanced than Vista or Windows 7 “Search programs and files” feature.

Mouser, why don't you stop dipsy-doodling about with FARR and get on with Windows8?
