After all, how hard can it be to spell bee?

Aunt Bea would someday like be a bee but it's just not possible.   :P

I've tried that, and it doesn't seem to work so well. There are a few games that change the wave sound level. And Volume Locker doesn't seem to protect the wave volume.
-Captain_Crunch (May 16, 2011, 08:34 AM)

Sorry to hear that.  Which OS are you using?  It wouldn't take much to write an app that would poll the master and wave values every second or so and reset them if they're changed from the original value.  I realise this is a brutish way of doing things but it should work fine.

If we're getting rid of cursive, why not go a step further and make English more efficient?  I like the famous bit that Dolton Edward wrote, years ago: "Meihem In Ce Klasrum"

Ironically enough, I think it bears a resemblance to the lolcat language, lolspeak.   :P

Much as I hate to rely on a cloud based service GMail may be the ultimate fix - given that it's unlikely that I'll get much assistance from the ISP and the fact that it's so intermittent it may not be worth trying to troubleshoot it (plus it insulates us from future ISP changes)

With my GMail accounts, I never use the web interface.  I use them via IMAP within my email client of choice, Becky.  I periodically back up the GMail accounts with IMAPSize.

My oldest daughter (age 11) can read and write very well in cursive.  As for our youngest daughter (age 7), we'll be teaching her cursive at home if it's out of the curriculum by the time she should be learning it.  I think it's a skill that one should have.  For one thing, I can't imagine block-printing a signature.

And, if you refresh it manually, it updates?  (I have enough grey hair to go around  :D)

Hmmm...I cannot reproduce the issue.  I've left it open all day and it's updating just fine.

AFAICT, seems to be working fine here...at least I have not seen the NA icon in some time.

And it seems to be updating hourly even after a hibernation, right?

Seems to work here fine.  Are you seeing this after a hibernation?  ewemoa, are you seeing this as well?

Furthermore, look up CoordMode in the AHK docs.  Specifically: CoordMode, Mouse, Relative

Good luck!

I've seen it happen when you adjust the font size for the browser.  Perhaps that's the issue?

General Software Discussion / Re: Automatic Archiving?
« Last post by skwire on May 10, 2011, 05:26 PM »
Being able to choose between either would be great, but if only one then I think last modified would be best. Thanks so much if you're planning to code this up!

Give this a shot: 30 Day Archiver

2011-05-10_171608.png

I wrote it around the 7-zip commandline app (7za.exe) so you will need to provide that yourself.  You can download it from here: http://downloads.sou.../sevenzip/7za920.zip Just put the 7za.exe in the same folder as the 30DayArchiver.exe.

The options should be self-explanatory.  Notes/caveats:

  • To use the different types of archive formats, simply specify that in the Output field i.e. c:\path\file.zip or c:\path\file.7z, etc.
  • If you attempt to use the same archive file, the program will give you option to update the existing archive file.
  • If you cancel whilst updating an existing archive file, you will corrupt it.  If this proves to be an issue, let me know and I'll code around it.
  • Obviously, choosing zero compression will lead to the fastest results.

What do you think?

I think I'll be sticking to my WHS v1 for a while to come yet.   :P

I just uploaded v1.0.8 build 2 with the standy/hibernate tweak.  I have it set so that, fifteen seconds after a resume from standby/hibernation, it will attempt a refresh.  After that, it will go back to the default hourly refresh.

joiwind/ewemoa, please let me know if this works.  Thanks.

My opinion is one of, "is it really that big of a deal to manually refresh it?"  :tellme: Furthermore, just because a device comes out of hibernation doesn't guarantee that there is a network connection.
