im sure people will know better than me, but my understanding tends to be like this:
1) yes, they are "legit"
but
2) they are usually designed to show ads and so
3) they dont want people just downloading files from your site without visiting it and seeing ads, so
4) they will only allow downloads from the actual page, not let you just link to the files from offiste, and
5) they have limits on bandwidth and size of files, etc.

a way to copy (to clipboard) a row or column of text from an html table?

right now, im copying the entire table, then having to manually go through and edit it to get the data i want - big pain.

I seem to be the only person interested in this tool  :huh: but i'll just talk to myself here anyway.

But I thought that i would post a little screenshot of the simulation this morning (sunday June 11 before any games played), and where it advises putting your money.

The red numbers at the right are bets that have "expected" positive payoff (bets which in the longrun would be profitable).

So at this point, the program would advise putting money on Portugal, Germany, Spain, France (in order).

Caveat: I don't advise gambling - this is just for fun!

It's nothing, I'm sure. No really, I mean it. It's just that, well, I noticed that Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) insiders are continuing to drop shares on the public at a rate that boggles the mind. Here's just a brief peek at the latest tallies.

I bring it up only because I occasionally entertain the thought that Google has, in fact, destroyed the Internet. Well, not the physical Internet, mind you. Just the whole "looking for data" part of it that's key to Google's (alleged) information-based mission. The part that's held the key (so far) to its financial success.

Any of you try searching lately? Notice the astounding lack of quality across the board, even at revamped competitors like Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) and IAC/InterActiveCorp's (Nasdaq: IACI) Ask.com? I feel your pain. I, too, have spent hours stuck in the revolving door of link farms, splogs, and scraper sites. These sites look like they contain content, but when you see the results page, often it's not there (because of tricks like keyword stuffing and cloaking). If it is there, it's often recycled material from other providers, compiled by an automated process.

The jokers who create these sites have one goal: Trying to get you to click on a Google AdSense link.

As I was jumping through the usual hoops required to download a file from sourceforge.net, I stumbled upon a new hoop they put in. Apparently the kind folks over at sourceforge decided it would be a good idea to change the download link into a javascript function that submitted a hidden form. Why they did this, I doubt we’ll ever know, but it really makes using the site much more difficult.
