Quizo’s back!
By ShiningMasamune, on June 3rd, 2011
He’s uploaded a beta of his own 2.0 version on the original site.
On the one hand, he’s fixed a few things that I couldn’t, including the Desktop bar. Plus the icons have a fresh coat of paint, and the options dialog (while still a little messy) appears to have been redesigned. However, a lot of other stuff is broken.
I don’t know what this means for me. Should our versions merge? Would he even agree to that? Should I just keep going and fork the project? That Quizo released this without so much as a cursory email to me is pretty upsetting. I have to wonder if he’s mad at me for taking over.
To top it off, this happened at the worst possible time for me; I’m leaving for a trip to France in two days to attend an academic conference. And now here I am with my head spinning off. I really just don’t have time to deal with this right now. I guess all I can do for now is wait to see how things play out while I’m away, and see if I can get any kind of communication going with Quizo.
EDIT: Thanks everyone for the encouraging comments. Quizo did send me an email and it looks like everything will work out. I’ll post the full details when I return from my trip. Au revoir!-ShiningMasamune

Every three Danish home now houses a so-called smartphone - a sophisticated mobile phone that functions as a mini computer. But less than five percent protects it from hackers and viruses! In comparison, 90 percent protects their computer.
The punched security and increasing penetration gets a number of IT security experts to warn that targeted attacks on Danish smartphones is imminent. It can cost owners their credit card information, codes for private e-mail accounts, and at worst can be milked their accounts via online banking."Where the Danes earlier walked around with a simple phone in the pocket, they now have a computer. And because the sensitive informations, that criminals are hunting for, are stored on that computer, our security has become markedly worse", says associate professor at the IT University and hacking specialist Joseph Kiniry.
Free games on smartphones
There are already several examples of Danish credit card informations, e-mail codes, and passwords for, say, Facebook, showing up for sale on the Internet. And Joseph Kiniry's concern is shared by security experts that monitors the Danish population's vulnerability on the Internet, and the Danish telecom operators and manufacturers of security solutions.
- In the physical world, we are accustomed to someone always is protecting us. On smartphones, there is preliminary free games for criminals, said Michael Dahl Politiken.
He is the country responsible for Denmark for a world-leading antivirus company, F-Secure.
The Danes have been so active on the Internet via their small smart phones, that data traffic increased by 86 percent, from first to second half of 2010-Politiken (Danish newspaper), Saturday

Logos Bible Software 4 has been named the winner of the SIIA’s prestigious CODiE Award for Best Educational Reference Solution.
Due to the large undertaking in rebuilding Logos from the ground up —instead of simply reusing 15–20-year old code for an update— we hoped Logos users would find Logos 4 to exceed their expectations. It did. Logos users quickly navigated past the initial learning curve Logos 4 posed, and discovered a new way of doing Bible study. And the CODiE Award judges got to see exactly what makes Logos 4 so special.
Judges put Logos 4 through a stringent review process consisting of evaluating product-specific material and online support articles and training videos. Finally, a live online product demonstration was coordinated so judges could see a first-hand demonstration before evaluating and scoring Logos 4. Part of the evaluation focused on the program’s customization features, ease of use, navigation, richness and focus of search results, and use of graphics, among other components.
Based on the above components, Logos Bible Software 4 seemed to be exactly what the Best Educational Reference Solution category was intended for. Among others in the same category, Logos 4 beat out NBC News Archives on Demand from NBC Learn.
Some 425 products and services were nominated this year. Then third-party judges reviewed and evaluated each item before determining finalists. SIIA members then reviewed the finalists and voted to select the winners.
Winning the 2011 CODiE Award now puts Logos Bible Software in the company of past CODiE Award winners such as Adobe, Dell, Cision, Red Hat, SalesForce, Wall Street Journal Professional, and Zendesk.
