Living Room / Re: chrome browser is so nasty

Use a different browser - isn't there a 'cleaned' version of Chrome?
=> SRWare Iron browser:
http://www.srware.ne...ware_srware_iron.php

Portable apps has a portable version, there may be others.

Agent Ransack does not build or maintain an index, it searches on the fly. So it can be accurate (at least when I've used it) but don't expect results fast if you're looking through a lot of stuff. It's most useful if you can narrow down the best place to look.

as an aside, I see they have a very generous license:
free version is also available for commercial use. (Obviously well worth the requested single user 'supporter package' for 10$ if you use it.)

I get the feeling that 90% of "kalos posts" are some sort of homework assignment and you lot are unknowingly completing them for him.

I think we're not doing a very good job of it though :-/

Anand,
I'm unable to download:
the link above leads to download page - the link there for version #2 leads to a page with just a download button - clicking on that does nothing.
(Using Pale Moon & IE without addons.)

^Perhaps "schlock" wasn't quite the word I was looking for. Let's call it "sweet" instead... :)

ouch, I watched a live concert from 1976 (Carpenters - Live in Holland) - that was schlock, painful really most of it :(
But still a fan of most of the studio stuff - the singles anyways, I never had an album by them.

Also..Tomos, what other posts have I made in the last sorta 6 months or so, that would be considered "Basement-Style"? o.O

fair question - and difficult for me to answer cause I dont know which threads were moved.

I just remember a couple of times saying that the topic was bound to head south, so-to-speak. OTOH I can be over-careful at times.

It's debatable what terrorists *do* want, and I guess that's where it goes basementy, for me anyways.

You're making a habit of starting 'basement-style' threads Stephen :p

I'm trying Splat simply for opening a group of files - it seems like a great way to open, and keep a record of, files related to a specific query/topic/whatever.

I'm wondering:
  • Having hotkeys is great, but would you consider a generic shortcut to launch the selected profile e.g. Enter; or Ctrl+Enter
  • would it be possible to run one entry in a profile (I presume this could also be advantageous when testing) either via context menu, or again, with Enter or variation on same

Hi KLR71,

I'm not sure why that would happen... Can someone with win7 x64 chime in to tell us if they can reproduce this issue?

only to say I cannot reproduce the issue here in Win 7 x64 -
i.e. F12 works as it should, adding window to exceptions:

---------------------------
GridMove.exe
---------------------------
added MozillaWindowClass to exceptions
---------------------------
OK

I have used, since the start of this thread, and lived by http://www.gmailnotifier.se/

Worth the small price of a license! Very responsive author as well (12.95 currently)!

thanks Josh
ah, I see that's the Gmail Notifier Pro mentioned above

Karen Carpenter was another one of these vocalists (like Presley) who might have left an even bigger mark in music history had they not done so much schlock (although very good schlock) pop music in their careers.

I know what you mean, yet I think the stuff they did was perfect. Perfectly done, perfectly sung, with this dreamlike perfect-world vibe (I know the lyrics were at times about darker things).
And what a voice :-*

I mean like a service, a business, etc

I think it's the ideas that will change society - the services and businesses will follow.

PS a big  to Tao's suggestion

Try webmail notifier, an excellent Firefox add-on. FF can run in the background and you still get notified.

this is now called X-notifier

Reviews of recent versions are mixed.

Anyone got a recommendation (for gmail in particular) for 2015?

Screenshot Captor / Re: Cutting out an image from it's background..
« Last post by tomos on January 11, 2015, 08:36 AM »
That being said, when I then Save it, I have the desired item now resting on the Screenshot Capture Grey rectangular background..

haven't done this myself, but just wondering, have you checked how the image looks in a different image viewer? Or on your website even.
It is possible that the grey background is actually transparent - and showing SC's default grey background through the image - which is what you need.
3073

Shouldn't there be a link to this in this thread:D

That is this thread.

Dang clipboard managers!  I really meant this one:-[

hah, I thought you being extra smart in some way I hadn't quite figured out :-[ ;D

I'm never sure of the dance music genres - what's what, I mean.
There's no video here, but worth a listen I reckon:
