Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR2?
« Last post by mouser on August 07, 2006, 02:53 AM »
i have not forgotten nor lost any interest in farr v2.. i know i am behind schedule on it just because other projects demand my attention, including lots of general site work.  i thank god that for those people who are helping to do some of the other site stuff, like ampa taking over discounts, and javajones and mukester taking over the podcast.  soon i will be have more time to work on it.

my plan is to release an update of farr v1 first, in the next couple of weeks, and then having gotten my beak wet again with it, draw up some plans for v2 and make some tough decisions about the user interface.

Drag&Drop Robot / Re: any drag&drop users?
« Last post by mouser on August 06, 2006, 09:07 PM »
im afraid the program is for only for running a single, repetitive command on each member of the file list.

but perhaps adding a mode to do what you want is not a bad idea..

Official Announcements / Re: COMING SOON: Site tour section w/ screencasts
« Last post by mouser on August 05, 2006, 07:16 PM »
i just want to say this would be sooooo incredibliy useful to the site, to have a Tour Page like this that people could visit to discover features of the site.

we use simplemachines.org here (smf).
i like the forum approach to interacting with users, assuming you do want to interact with them.  if you dont have time to answer posts though, then dont start it, because it will give a bad impression if there are people posting questions and no one answering.

Living Room / Re: B drive
« Last post by mouser on August 05, 2006, 09:48 AM »
even with one drive, my memory is you could use things like
"copy A:*.* B:"

and what would happen is, after it copied the files from the drive, you would be prompted to swap in a new floppy disk to complete the copy.  So it was a useful kludge for copying things between floppies.

In the spirit of the amazing flash animator vs. animation movie, comes this extremely brilliant one (different author). I *LOVE* these.

note: i also automatically remove people from mailing list if we receive one of those antispam "click this to verify you are a member", so if you want the newsletter make sure you put donationcodernews.com on a whitelist and go to your profile and re-enable receiving announcements.

doublebogey, we love db90h but don't feel like you *have* to change your nickname here if you don't want to - db90h was just being his normal gruff self.  if you don't mind changing it, that's fine, especially since i'm used to calling db90h by "db" in the irc channel, but don't feel pressured into it.
30372
i think dB and db90h are the same person with split personality.  :P

ps. the still-in-progress program we are working on called "Context Menu Commander" would be ideal for adding such a conext-menu to your right-click options..
