N.A.N.Y. 2013 / Re: NANY 2013 Release: sImgurUploader

thanks lanux.  so do all img tags show up behind a button?

Sorry, I am just having a hard time wrapping my head around all this.   :-[

actually the button is due to the [spoiler] tag since the image was quite large and i didn't want to annoy anyone by leaving such a large image out in the open. :)

another example without the spoiler tag:
i type this: [img]http://i.imgur.com/5ZrVJmi.png[/img]

and i get this:

@techidave: one shows the image in-line while the other points to the location which you have to click to view. :)

@wraith808: thanks for the new version with new configurable options!

btw, currently I think ImgFloat locks the previewed file because I keep getting 'file-in-use' error when I try to delete unless I fully exit ImgFloat. is it possible to have an option to delete the last previewed file without exiting the ImgFloat?

gmail is terrible at this. if someone sets my email as *their* recovery address, gmail merrily sends me a congratulatory message (with an advice to disregard if it was not intentional). shouldn't they first send a verification code to the person who keyed-in my email as their recovery email?

Since I don't use recovery email addresses, does it tell you who you are a recovery address for?

Send them an email politely asking them to change it ...

Then you can get nasty if they don't do it.  >:D

Just Delete Me

Account Killer covers more accounts.

i contacted one such person and he said that couldn't get his username of choice so he used the one google suggested. then he goes on to use the email that he *did* want as the recovery email because according to him, that is what google told him to do. i am pretty sure he got it wrong but i still feel that google dropped the ball on this one by not asking for verification.

but thanks for the account-killers! will go through them to see if they are effective. :)

good to see that the recent allegations by an Ubuntu dev did not take away from the wind from their sails. more about that here but with more and more distros becoming an attractive alternative to existing desktop OSes, the comments are likely to be more frequent. *shrug*

Screenshot Captor / Re: How to make SC go to the last file?
« Last post by lanux128 on November 30, 2013, 03:26 AM »
this is the format i use in the "File Naming Template":
%quickfield%%windowtitle%_%customdate%_%num%

1. i wanted to fine-tune the filenames further so i wrote a custom ahk script to do that as part of the post-capture options.
2. this script parses the newly captured filenames and rename them if it is matches the list of word i want to exclude.
3. after renaming is done, SC refreshes the thumbnail panel and somehow loses the focus on the last captured file.
4. now when i toggle SC's main window, no file has the focus, necessitating a scroll down the panel for the latest file.
5. i would to avoid #3 if possible.
6. in the meantime i will try out your suggestion of calling "ScreenshotCaptor.exe filepath" within the script after renaming is done.

thanks again!

ok, that makes sense. the script renames certain newly captured files.

as per title, i have a custom ahk script running after each capture (post-capture options). after the script runs, SC auto-refreshes the thumbnail panel and does not set focus on the latest captured file. is there anything i can do about it?

Firefox also blocks several other plugins out of the box, there is a full list here.

@saralynn: other than crashes and general updating annoyances, i have not been affected by any malware using the plugins as a conduit (touch wood). however my primary concern is whether casual users need flash/java in their computers. i feel that the plugins system is so clunky and awkward and casual users shouldn't be expected to keep up with the latest news of security issues and update/patch diligently.

especially java, i seem to need it for only minecraft (lucky me) and as for flash videos, i don't mind since i don't/can't access to any streaming video sites (e.g. Hulu, Netflix, ESPN, etc) so whenever i see this:

Spoiler

i take it as their loss, not mine. :)
