Post New Requests Here / Re: Create shortcuts from a list
« Last post by mouser on November 21, 2006, 12:22 AM »
if you can find a commandline program to make a single shortcut of a file, you could use my drag+drop robot to just paste your list of files in the file list and run it on all of them.

MS has been working on PowerShell recently - a scripting language thing for windows (lookout autohotkey!).  Here's a cool looking tool for working with PowerShell scripts.

Harnessing the Power of Powershell.
Powershell Analyzer is a rich interactive environment for Windows Powershell. Its goal is to be the powershell host of choice for IT professionals and system administrators. It has all the typical editor and IDE functionality that you would expect when working on a modern language, but it focuses on the real time interactive experience as if you were at the console, helping you compose the commands you want to use, and also giving you rich graphical visualization of the results. Powershell may seem to just return text like the average Unix shell, but in reality, it is returning rich self describing Dotnet objects.  Powershell Analyzer not only helps you with the INPUT, but also with the output.  It shows you the properties of the rich objects that the commands return, as well as specific visualizers to help you interact with output such as XML, HTML, charts, tables, and hierarchical data structures.

LaunchBar Commander / Re: suggestion: More docking options
« Last post by mouser on November 20, 2006, 06:05 PM »
this was just posted on shell extension city, which might be worth a try:

SideSlide - Stretch Your Desktop:
SideSlide is an advanced, unobtrusive, dockable, skinnable, keyboard accessible, highly configurable Desktop Extension on Steroids! SideSlide will help you to finally clean desktop clutter and will make your computer friendlier and faster than ever before. Get instant access to everything you have and so much more...

Dock SideSlide to any screen edge; keep shortcuts to files, folders and URLs you frequently visit; execute various commands quicker than ever; add multiple notes; multiple, sizable, pictures; schedule reminders; save web snippets and more...Customize it to emphasize the things you use the most and make more information accessible without occupying precious screen space. By using containers you can shrink and fold, linking containers to actual folders on disk, Launch Groups that allow you to start multiple programs at once, zooming in and out of shortcuts, keyboard navigation, different skins, different size pictures, picture containers and colored notes; SideSlide is designed to make a great deal of content instantly accessible.

oh thats a very good point. i'll have to put something bak in there to help that.
perhaps a good solution is to have a sample Launch bar on that actual skin theme tab that you can play with while you are testing themes..

LaunchBar Commander / Re: suggestion: More docking options
« Last post by mouser on November 20, 2006, 04:54 PM »
yes, i will give these high priority.

an additional one you didn't mention is: hotkey activation, which is actually the easiest to implement in many ways.

you would configure the bar however you want - floating or docked, and then have a hotkey to toggle it as visible or not, much in the way that farr works (yet another reason to perhaps merge farr and lbc?)
28782
yes - i'm afraid that was necesary - because otherwise you could end up with a launch bar that was out of sync with the tree data, which could cause some bad behavior :(

Living Room / Re: Software Competition

disclosure is the key word here.  you can criticize whatever you want but you should disclose if you have any relationship at all to a competitor of a program you are critizing, or if you are part of the team creating software you are praising.

« Last post by mouser on November 20, 2006, 12:26 AM »
imply plug OhMiBod into your iPodĀ® or any music player and it automatically vibrates to the rhythm and intensity of the music. Let your body feel the vibrations as you get down with your favorite tunes. The combination of listening and feeling your music quickly transports you to a place where music, mind and body come together to create an unbeatable sexual experience.

ps. Thanks to HamRadio for letting me include his unique custom icon set with this version!
You'll also find a sample launchbar configuration file using the icons, which you can use to start your own new launchbar:

Ok v1.60.06 is now official (still beta), and is a highly recommended update for all users.

Although it doesn't include many new features, it includes numerous bugfixes.

As always, do yourself a favor and backup your launchbars occasionally!

add an alternate "teleport" folder.

if we are making a wish list - what would be nice is let user specify a list of alternative folders, and then the popup would let them select from a menu where it should go.

General Software Discussion / Re: Tool or Shell to Browse+Play .WAV files?
« Last post by mouser on November 19, 2006, 08:18 PM »
this is actually a good idea - surely there must be a program that will take a directory full of files and play a few seconds of each in turn.

« Last post by mouser on November 18, 2006, 06:43 PM »
that is pretty gosh darned cool.

some thoughts:

1) add "browse to teleport folder" in tray and popup dialog.
2) make escape key do something from popup dialog (not sure if it should be cancel or abort)
3) add accelerator to "dont save" choice
4) what happens when a file of same name exists in teleport folder - should it autorename ( i think it probably should, at least if file contents or size is different).
5) id love a single log file with filename + date + note of each file moved.
6) dont save blank notes.

Post New Requests Here / Re: AutoClose
« Last post by mouser on November 18, 2006, 12:01 PM »
if i understand what you are saying:
you have certain programs that when the computer tries to "shut down", they don't exit -
but instead they display that dialog that shows them just sitting there refusing to exit properly.

you want a tool that can kill these processes when your computer is trying to shut down, is that right?
