on the search page you can choose to use google; but google does not index instantly and there can be a real delay between a post on the forum and the time google indexes it.

I thought we posted about this but i can't find it.

Good point..
Perhaps i should just get rid of the escape-to-minimize behavior - thinking about it now it seems a bit unintuitive and likely to cause confusion in other cases.

Very fun and inventive..

Shows you how nice it can be to make a game where users can create levels - each level tells you who created it,
and each level gets a bit more interesting.

locking the workstation is nice but does it do the main thing wong asked for?
i.e. give you a warning first and a few seconds to cancel the lock?

Hi sindifizer -
I'm not 100% sure i understand what is happening.
It sounds like it must have something to do with the auto capture thing, since that is so rarely used by people.
Can you describe the issue a bit more? You can also email me directly about it ([email protected]).

Intro:

My father sent me a DYMO 330 Labeler and after using it to print out 50 or so shipping labels for DC Member Kits I felt compelled to to post about it.

It's one of those things you might not realize that a device would make much of a difference with, but I have to say I'm really loving how super fast it is now to create a label.

More Discussion:

The software and hardware are both great.  You just start up the software, paste or type in the mailing address, and it quickly resizes the text to fit the label size and adds a BARDCODE if appropriate.  The auto resizing makes such a difference because it means the whole process is so fast.

I used to just use a full page of labels and print on my laser printer.  Which is fine and cheaper, but you know it gets tedius always feeding the label sheets and keeping track of what labels are unused, etc.  You might not think it's a big deal but this is one of those gadgets that actually does streamline the process.

Alternatives:

The label results look great on my 330; the newer versions may be a bit faster or better in some minor ways but i wouldn't hesitate buying an older version on ebay at all.

There are other similar label printers, and I can't say if this one is better or worse than those, EXCEPT to say that i've tried one of these other kinds with the full keyboard, and multiple size labels.  I found these things more annoying than useful.  One of the pleasures is that this thing is so small and simple.  The full keyboard ones are annoying if you ask me, and i never had the urge to use anything but the included software.
