the donation page has a link to alternative electronic payment services we accept (including amazon.com, 2checkout, and others): https://www.donation...te/DonateMethod.html

Keep in mind we are a very informal operation here; at the bottom of the about page: https://www.donation...com/About/index.html
you will see a mailing address you can send cash, diamonds, chocolates, paintings, intelligent robots from the future, etc.

And if you are in a far away country where donating would be difficult, you can simply make a donation to a local charity and send us a postcard instead.

i played it to the end - amazing that they put that into 100k.

try the latest download please - and thank you for the reporting - you're a life saver.

regarding floats: it's actually a new thing for farr to use float scores - i only added it because one feature requested a lot for v2 was that the history list keep some track of how often you launched files so that they could be given higher scores, and i felt that the decay rate for items in the history list really needed to be fractional (though it's possible in retrospect that leaving it integral probably would have been ok).  Hopefully it's fixed now though so it won't matter.

thank you for the information about the floating point (fractional) scores getting messed up depending on the locale - that's a huge bug.  working on it now.
ps. what locale are you?

Exactly.  It's really a compromise to give people both a chance to win, and also time to consider using the discount.

Realize that unlike some of these other websites which have popped up recently whose entire business model is designed around making affiliate fees from sales, etc., that the discounts and giveaways as never planned, it just sort of happened.

When we first started with the discounts and giveaways we had the giveaway end at the very end of the month, and then there would be like 24 hours between people finding out they didn't win until the end of the discount.  Seemed kind of crazy and unfair to the companies too.

So now the idea is that we end the giveaway in the middle of the month, and then peopl have the other half of the month to contemplate the discount.  It also matches up well now with our newsletters since the first newsletter we can remind people about the giveaway deadline, close enough to deadline that they actually remember, and in the second newsletter of the month we can do the same about the end of discount deadline.

Official Announcements / JANUARY 2007 SOFTWARE DRAWING RESULTS POSTED
« Last post by mouser on January 15, 2007, 03:58 AM »
WINNERS OF THE JANUARY 2007 FREE SOFTWARE GIVEAWAY

A huge thanks to all of the companies who donated software for us to give away, and made very generous discounts available for our members.  The discounts are still available throughout the month if you didn't win a copy in the drawing:

More information about this month's discounts can be found here and here.

Winners of 'Fineprint' (5):
  • briandorsey
  • doncodfish
  • garywooldridge
  • rkr3
  • wnitzan

Winners of 'Net Transport' (5):
  • angelia
  • GeorgeH
  • markan
  • Midnight Rambler
  • woolly

About Net Transport:
Let me just say a few words about Net Transport - I use it personally to record a few internet radio stations on a schedule.  Net Transport is *extremely* good at recording streaming media, and has a wonderful scheduler.  It is reliable, stable, and just one of those programs that should be getting a hell of a lot more attention than it does, probably because it doesn't have the marketing forces behind it that some of the much less sophisticated tools do.  If you are serious about recording streaming media, this should be the very first program you check out.  Really a fantastic product in my opinion - mouser

About FinePrint:
Read the long member mini-review of fineprint (and comments): Here.

All winners are now being notified by email to their forum email address.  If you haven't received an email but your name is listed above, check spam filters and forum email address, and then mail [email protected] and let us know you never got any mail.  It can take a few days for companies to send you your serial number; if a few days pass and you haven't received it - send a reminder to the company email as noted in your winning notification email, or to us by replying to the email you received or to us directly.

Curious about how we award prizes?  See https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=1684.0 for a discussion about our custom prize optimizer utility. Winning something one month reduces your chances of winning the next month, and being helpful on the forum slightly increases your chances.

Screenshot Captor / Re: suddenly my captures are all B/W
« Last post by mouser on January 14, 2007, 10:21 PM »
but i really need my captures to be in color
you sure are spoiled  :P  hehehehe

i'm trying to think what would cause this.. Couple of possibilities:

Check in your OnCapture tab of preferences, in far right - see if you have it set to grey the area outside of active window.

If nothing strange there, try fully EXITING screenshot captor from tray and restarting.  If it still does the B&W thing then email me your ScreenshotCaptor.ini options file ([email protected]) and i'll see what i can find.

Hi little fish - i will check into win98 this week and hopefully have a fix, or at least a definitive answer.

Actually it looks like i left it in and just changed the shortcut to CTRL+ALT+Enter.
Hit that and it should launch all results currently listed.

I shall add it.
(actually it used to launch all with CTRL+Enter but i disabled this very recently because i felt it was too likely to hit by accident).

I will bring back this feature, it's useful for actually the stuff pomj says.  the only question is what hotkey to use to mean launch all results (all items in the alias).
