10. Cody's Internet Citizen's Club Assignments
Cody, our rambunctious little bird mascot, has decided to form his own club and he wants you to join it!  What's it all about? Mainly it's about being good internet citizens and active DC participants, and working as a team.  In each newsletter you'll have a small assignment or two - like finding a freeware author you like and emailing them a thank you, or participating in a forum poll.  As a Cody Club member, we ask that you perform the Cody Club newsletter task (or else invent one of your own if you object to the one we've chosen).  Occasionally you'll get a little treat, like a postcard in the mail, or a Cody Club iron-on.  Only Cody knows for sure.

So.. have you completed this month's Cody Club tasks yet?

im actually a big fan of these kinds of games.

i do think the controls are painful though - i'd really like to see you get them working smoothly and make it more of an enjoyable experience.  right now it feels clunky and hard to change directions etc.  sometimes its like it's ignoring me.

the first page should have instructions about the fact you should move to 1 or 2 to select # of players and get rid of that flag on the first page - it's confusing!

NOW,
having said that - the idea of having a two-player game like this - where you can actually BLOCK the other player as you can in your game, has WONDERFUL possibilities and could make for some huge fun - i'd really like to see you pursue this aspect..

I would like to see you try some alternate smoother movement systems (maybe one with some gravity effects?)

General Software Discussion / Re: CD Ripping

I just remembered the cd ripping software i liked the most:
Easy CD-DA Extractor
http://www.poikosoft.com/

Maybe we can try to get a discount on the best shareware rippers once we get a consensus about the top ones.  Or maybe someone feels up to doing a big review comparing them all (free+shareware)?

While accurate, Exact Audio Copy can also be blazingly SLOW so that's probably not what you want.
Audiograbber is pretty fast.
27687
I'll be posting pictures of the project so you can all follow along and see the masterpiece or the disaster, as the case may be [pun intended].
27688
Great find, Rob, you're right - it's definitely needed.

Updating my version and i'll credit you in the release notes for next release :)

thanks farmsteader i will probably take you up on your offer to look at my plans in a personal message when the time gets nearer
27691
thanks for the great woodbin.com find chris

Farmsteader thank you for that summary - that pretty much describes what i expected - paper and pencil are probably better for me.

Im going to be building a full wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling bookcase.  I have some books that describe the process and equipment and i plan to rent some power tools for a weekend since it seems wastefull to try to buy all this stuff for just one project.  Wish me luck!

Anyone know of any specialized software for helping you plan woodworking projects like bookcases, cabinets, tables, etc?
Im planning on building some bookcases and my computer is asking me to let it help..
