I emailed, of all people, the author of Curator Defense, the one game in the last year that really opened my eyes to a new genre.  http://www.davidbhowe.net/cd/main.htm

Can you guys try:
https://www.donation...ScreenshotCaptor.exe

It *should* use the dpi settings for the image to control size when pasted in programs that support it, so change your dpi settings to make it appear bigger or smaller.

could it be your antiivirus?

might be nice to make a non-installer version while we are testing since it doesnt really need to be installed, and it would make stuff simpler for testers.

gravity needs improvement!

« Last post by mouser on February 08, 2007, 09:44 PM »
first things first:
you don't have to uninstall old version before installing the new version, just install new over old.

HOWEVER,
you do have to make sure the program is *not* still running in the tray when you install the new version.

It sounds like that might be the case for you.  Make sure you right click on the screenshot captor icon in your system tray and choose exit.

Then install the new verison and assuming it doesnt complain about not being able to replace a file that is in use, you should be ok.

Let me know.

i knew there was something i was forgetting in the latest release..
working on it now..
27662
I will try to do some investigation into better ways to do this..
Also another option is to have a way to specify windows/programs to exclude or include.
27663
go to general options and uncheck "Auto copy selected text to clipboard" option..
perhaps i need to disable that by default..

Word Processor Roundup / Re: 3rd Party Tools like Bibliography Addins
« Last post by mouser on February 08, 2007, 07:35 PM »
i once considered making a free high powered bibliog tool to replace endnote.. someone should.  but it's a major job. it's something that in a rational society universities would band together and fund.

Word Processor Roundup / 3rd Party Tools like Bibliography Addins
« Last post by mouser on February 08, 2007, 07:02 PM »
Another important point is that some of us use addings like a bibliography tool (EndNote or Procite), which only work on MS Word.
I know that they have some bibliography funcitons built in, but I rely on my bibliography tool so much for academic papers that i wouldnt even consider switching away from MS until it was ported..

Very nice point.

There are two games that come to mind when playing this:
https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=5812.0
https://www.donation...?topic=6859.msg47838 (this one in particular)

It might be nice to experiment with some gravity effects and faster moving ball.. something to make things more challenging..

It's always great to get suggestions for features that can be easily added, so keep them coming :)

LaunchBar Commander / Re: Option to move dock(s)?
« Last post by mouser on February 08, 2007, 02:02 PM »
you can dock it to any side, just right click on the dock and say "toggle docking" and then drag it to the other side of your screen.  (Might be nesc. to go into preferences after that and Save to get it to remember on next boot).
27670
i remember your suggestion well and fully meant to implement that, but i see it isn't happening.  Will fix for next release.
27671
Great point - that is a serious advantage for some people.  Zaine should add that into his review.

UrlSnooper / Re: LATEST VERSION INFO THREAD - URL SNOOPER - v2.18.01, FEB 7th, 2006
« Last post by mouser on February 08, 2007, 12:01 PM »
If urlsnooper is working fine for you already with version 2.14.02 then there is no real reason to update.

[
Technically this is a beta; depending on how confident I am about a beta release i will sometimes put on the web page a link to the Latest (beta) and Previous (stable) versions, OR i might but a link to Latest Stable and More Recent Beta. Sorry for any confusion - in almost all cases i would recommend people use the latest beta versions.  For non-mission-critical software there isn't much reason not to use the betas.

i may just add a column sorting feature which would do what you really want in a cleaner fashion.  the problem you encountered is because it's also scoring files based on their filename length which is also effecting the score.

The Getting Organized Experiment of 2006 / Re: Do wallpapers aid your productivity?
« Last post by mouser on February 07, 2007, 11:53 PM »
Add guidelines to any image to show different resolutions. This is what my desktop looks like. I have my resolution set to 1280 x 1024 and have an image on my desktop with guidelines for 640 x 480, 800 x 600, and 1024 x 768. What this does is let me see how much of a screen an applications window will fill.

hey now that is clever.. i've never heard of that idea before. very clever.

Count me in the group of people that finds anything other than a plain solid color distracting.
I have no icons and no wallpaper on my desktop - just a LaunchBar Commander (shameless self-promotion) dock on the side of the screen.
