I just meant that while "run as administrator" functionality is built in to LBC, I'm not sure it's worth the trouble building in functionality to run apps as arbitrary users, so you may have to find a separate commandline tool that can do that, and launch that tool from LBC, via a commandline or batch file.

Living Room / Photographer Tutorial Company Release Satire Version for Pirates
« Last post by mouser on March 21, 2018, 09:38 AM »
When it comes to content producers reacting to the pirating of their works, we've seen just about every reaction possible... They decided to release a version of Photographing the World 3 on several torrent sites a few days before it went to retail, but the version they released was much different than the actual product. It was close enough to the real thing that many people were left wondering just what the hell was going on, but ridiculous enough that it's downright funny.  “The whole time we were thinking: ‘This isn’t even on the market yet! You guys are totally stealing this and emailing us and complaining about it,”

2579
You may have to make a batch file for that.

Living Room / Re: Image attachment problems
« Last post by mouser on March 21, 2018, 09:04 AM »
don't do "(d) host them elsewhere and use the img link instead of attaching them." because then eventually they are lost forever.

Definitely DO save photos as jpg.
(tip in screenshot captor you can just change the filename in the bottom quick edit box to have a .jpg extension and hit enter).

Every time the editor undoes *all* of the attachments instead of just the offenders.  I've already spent 15 minutes.  I'll try again later, maybe.

The best solution to that is probably to do what I do sometimes when I'm making a post with a dozen images and lots of text: First write your main message and post it. Then MODIFY the message and add one or two images and save it.  Repeat.

There is a "Run as administrator" checkbox for application node items.  Are you trying that and it's not working or?

Actually let me sort of force someone else to go first by sharing some photos of the paintings that made me think to start this thread.
Long time DC member cranioscopical recently mentioned a website he had made for the paintings of his wife (Barbara Bickell),  and I was blown away by them.

The website is http://www.barbarabickell.ca.

Here are just a few of my favorites:

barb1.jpg barb2.jpg barb3.jpg barb4.jpg barb5.jpg barb6.jpg barb5b.jpg barb7.jpg

I am completely captivated and mesmerized by them.. Amazing.

Ok now don't let those intimidate you -- this thread is for everyone here to share their work, no matter your level of skill... Show us what you got!

Living Room / Artists: Share your artwork with the forum!
« Last post by mouser on March 19, 2018, 07:48 PM »
I know we have some artists out there on the forum (painters, sculptors, illustrators.. digital or analog).  One of the best things about this site is when members share their lives with us a little bit.

Please share a little bit of your artwork with us, and tell us a little bit about what motivates you and when you enjoy doing, etc.

And I'm not talking about professional artists, just people who enjoy creating art... We just want to share a little in your life!

So, who has the guts to go first?

I suppose for your purposes you don't mind if I add a more esoteric hotkey that won't conflict with anything else (the way Ctrl+O would)... So if I make it like Ctrl+Shift+E something silly that would still be ok for your purposes?

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Mini Review of jAlbum web site creator.

Chris, I am just blown away and speechless by your wife's paintings.  They are amazing.  I love love love love love the style.  They are absolutely captivating, charming, wonderful.  Some made me laugh out loud, others I was transfixed by.  So good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :-*

Why have you been hiding these from us for all of these years!  >:(

[I think you did a very nice job with the website as well -- I can see why you were so happy with the result from jAlbum.  Very clean and smooth and functional and put the images front and center with no distraction.]

But anyway, I've been a silent user of WhenLast for a couple years now. I am pretty happy with how it works.
great!

Yes I need to fix that cody image for WhenLast -- thanks for the reminder.

I also want to add an option to all of my apps to allow custom enlargement of font sizes.

I'm sorry I didn't catch this earlier.. I remind you all: No political spats on this forum, from any side.

Arizona Hot, barney, Shades, Target, panzer -- you should all know better.  STOP.

I'm sorry I didn't notice the first post that started this so I could have put a stop to it earlier.  The next time someone sees a post against or for a politician or political party or political ideology, please message me.  It's just not something we do here.

That shouldn't be any problem -- SC obeys the registry settings for where your documents are, so that's fine.
See if you can figure out when your settings seem to get lost.. Is it every time you exit and restart SC, or only when rebooting? Is it possible that a different copy of SC is being started, or something else unusual?

For portable version it obviously saves in the directory it's running from.
For normal installs on modern windows (beyond Windows XP), it will save in C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\DonationCoder\ScreenshotCaptor\ScreenshotCaptor.ini

I would like to hear more about when this problem occurs..

Developer's Corner / Google opens Maps to bring the real world into games
« Last post by mouser on March 14, 2018, 03:44 PM »
I have flirted with some ideas of games based on real world large-scale map data, so this is pretty cool news.

The search firm is both opening its Maps platform's real-time data and offering new software toolkits that will help developers build games based on that data. The software includes both a kit to translate map info to the Unity game engine as well as another to help make games using that location data.
