Yes please provide a small and convenient one. I need it in one of my auto modify scripts.

Expect a quickie converter in an hour or so.

Ok, that was the longest hour of my life :D

Anyways, here it is.
Usage: rh2rc.exe infile outfile

Has some basic error checking, and might have some bugs (it's the first version).
Give it a shot and reports any bugs you find please.

We have purposely made the code messy in some areas to make it more difficult for people who want to rip our website, as we grow our website will further be the way that our clients and potential clients identify with us, and is a key component in our branding strategy. The last thing we want is people ripping it, and while they can still rip the website as is, it is more difficult to rip now than if the code was super clean.

Believe me, it's easy enough to rip it as-is.
BUT, for example, I use a screenreader, and your site is barely accessible for me. Web standards are there for a reason!
Here's some sample output from Fangs (the screenreader simulator for Firefox)

Hi DC,

I am writing a script to modify chrome.dll using Resource Hacker, here's the script:
ResHack.exe -extract chrome.dll, test.rc, 9,101,
ResHack.exe -modify  chrome.dll, chromenew.dll, test.rc, 9,101,

The log says

ResHack.exe -modify  chrome.dll, chromenew.dll, test.rc, 9,101,
Error: Invalid resource type.

Anybody know why?

BTW, any free commandline tools for extract and modify PE's resources?
-electronixtar (August 18, 2009, 04:34 AM)

Hello!
As far as I know, ResHacker does NOT support importing .rc files.
You can try this free nifty tool by XPero to make a ResHacker script, or compile the RC file to a RES file (and then use reshacker to modify it), using for example, the free Pelles Resource Compiler
(Attached here [attachimg=1 ][/attachimg]or can be grabbed from the Pelles C Compiler website])

Have fun reshacking!

I'm not sure, but I think this drivers will do fine:
If they don't, please post the device's VENdor and DEVice IDs (Device Manager, Properties, Details view, Device Instance ID).
The string should look like this:
PCI\VEN_XXXX&DEV_YYYY&(some more hex here)

I use a white piece of A4 paper as a mousepad, but you can spend $5.17 and have a Microsoft OEM mouse pad (which I guess would double as a dartboard ;)) delivered straight from Hong Kong thanks to the folks of DealExtreme [linky]

You got these 1-900-INEEDCASH phonenumbers. But I wonder what combo's are possible at my own mobile number? Or home number. I want software where you enter a sewuence of numbers, and then it will look in a word list for words.

Is that hard to do? I would think of this as a webservice, but software would be fine.

« Last post by scancode on August 01, 2009, 03:23 PM »
This of course assumes that all computers that will use the software have an internet connection that can be used for this and there is no firewall that could block it, that isn't under the user's control.

What does one do when they want to install something on a pc that has no internet connection and never will? Or on a pc in which a firewall a user has no control over will not allow the app to phone home to complete the registration. They will no longer have a key they can enter that will activate it.

This is the first issue that comes to mind. I am sure if I thought about it some more I could come up with others.

If it can't automatically download the lic key, offer the user to use the normal key input.
That might fix it :)

@wrecked: nice idea!

Audacity will do the job just fine. Leave a shoutout if you need help doing it.

Edit: You'll also need the LAME Plugin

Not to dis Euphoria, in fact it looks very interesting but this is a funny feature to advertise these days

"You can create programs that use the full multi-megabyte memory of your computer, and a swap file is automatically used when a program needs more memory than exists on your machine."

It's a great feature... when running on DOS. :-]

Nice Scancode, but not quite...

The personas usually require a header and a footer. I don't know default sizes or if a larger image would autosize to a smaller resolution, but I digress...

I was thinking of the DC home page banner for the header. You know, the thing that goes from binary gibberish to that nice gradated blue, but without Donationcoder.com and the stuff in the middle. Maybe move that to the side.
For the footer, something a little different, maybe a slightly different color, and involving Cody...

Nope, they don't autosize, and they have some nice templates available ( https://people.mozil.../personas/designers/ )
Header anchors on topright corner, footer on bottomleft.
