« Last post by Hellie on February 12, 2006, 06:26 AM »
Does anyone know how to add Textnotes Pro to the context menu in Firefox? Is this a possible coding snack?

Helen

Can someone remove this. I have done this twice. Can't find a delete button.

Yes its great I can work downstairs to be with my dogs. However I annoyed with PCWORLD all the notices for Linksys offers etc sales ends 2nd Jan. Only to find a week later that reduce the fastest Linksys Modem and Router in the second sale. Really really irratating!!!

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Free Netveda Firewall
« Last post by Hellie on January 16, 2006, 11:43 AM »
Sincere apologise everyone only just fully back online after my Wireless Modem and Router problems. I have to say Netveda is a steep learning curve. I actually have never tried to block specific ports. I have set mine up so it seems to block everything via the firewall tests but due to generally lack of good firewalls I thought it was an interesting find. It seems to do more than my previous Kaspersky firewall. I agree with Carol there seems to nothing between the free and the paid version other than support.  From my point of view it sits nicely with NOD 32  www.eset .com antivirus and has a smaller footprint than Zone Alarms both the free and trial paid version. I am quite happy with it especially as works well with my antivirus. I shall play around some more and report back.

I did that, nothing. Then it occurred to me it was my new free Nedaveda firewall after trial and error I have sorted it. Thanks though for confirming I was on the right track.

Carol, you use to live in my general direction at Oxford I live in a village extremely close to junction 5 Stokenchurch of the M40 where that big tower and the cutting is as you driving along the M40. That Sharks in Headington!!! Needless to say I live in the UK. I am 39 I use to be an NHS (Health Manager) until I started a campaign against the governments current policy of creating a government database of everyone Medical Records now I only work in the NHS on a Consultancy basis. Hence I am now very involved in politics. I know no political discussion but its what I actually do, so hope this is acceptable.

I am passionate about animals I have a rescued greyhound, a German Shepherd puppy, 3 cats and 3 rabbits.

Like JeffK  I frequently haunt www.emailaddresses.com which where I heard of this forum. I love playing around with software but am no expert. I would like a some point to have a go at programming.

Living Room / Selecting group of messages/Mail Ticker The BAT
« Last post by Hellie on January 08, 2006, 01:46 PM »
I am playing around with The Bat and trying to tidy up my Inbox. How do I select a batch of messages to delete. I have a group of 173 messages that need deleting.

Secondly I can't find the Mail Ticker everyone talks about. What does it do? I have The Bat Professional from the discount on this forum.

Also if anyone has any ideas how to do delete that account that I posted about I would most grateful.

I may ultimately have to email support but thought I would try posting here first. I have tried Help and FAQ but I think I am missing something.

Tried that too Carol hopless ended up someone who could speak English on a supposed UK freephone number. I am deadly serious. Thats why I posted here. I still connected by Wires but at least its working, the Linksys Modem and Router. I think the problems with the Notebook Adapter. When I find a bit more time to play with it, I will give you email. I don't understand the WPA security etc at the moment its an unsecure connection.  I spent days playing around with over xmas as you know.

Tried reading the instructions too,  not much help actually.

Speak to you soon. Thanks ever so much.

Found Deals and Discounts / Free Netveda Firewall
« Last post by Hellie on January 08, 2006, 11:03 AM »
I have discovered a free firewall for home use www.netveda.com. It is brilliant, well at least I think so!! It is highly configurable much better than my previous Kaspersky one. You can even limit the amount of time your children are the Net not that I have any!! I have done numerous Firewall leak tests and it blocks everything. It has a very small footprint and works brilliant alongside my www.eset.com Antivirus. This is the best combination for Antivrus and a Firewall I have found.

General Software Discussion / Bat question
« Last post by Hellie on January 07, 2006, 02:20 PM »
I have 2 IMAP email accounts set up in The Bat that I want to delete. It has let me delete one but not the other one. The account in question has a line drawn under the name account name and I cannot do anything whatsoever at all for example connect to the server. I have tried removing the The Bat programme and making sure I have deleted all the files in uninstallation but still this account reappears when I reinstall the account.

Anyone any ideas?

Living Room / Wireless question
« Last post by Hellie on December 29, 2005, 08:02 AM »
I want to make my 1 year old laptop wireless. I know I need a modem and router. I have 2mpbs broadband  connection with external BT Voyager USB ADSL Modem. My ISP in the UK is BT Yahoo.   But do I need a laptop card or am I already wireless? My laptop is a Parkard Bell Easynote C3300.   The networking ports say SIS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter and WAN Miniport 16.

I am very confused!!!
