Resource Hacker is no longer being developed:

Last Updated: 16 September 2011
Version: 3.6.0

I have been overwhelmed by the interest in Resource HackerTM, the emails of thanks, encouragement and suggestions. It's been downloaded many millions of times. However, I've moved on to other things and have no plans to continue its development. Please don't ask for the source code, I'm not releasing it, nor is it for sale. Colin Wilson has written an open source Resource Editor which may interest those looking for source code. Otherwise, Anders Melander has also created another excellent Resource Editor which is still being developed.

Are there still any users of Mr Tech Toolkit?

But Toolkit has many options, so maybe I have forgotten the proper setting? Can you direct me?

-I was really asking the wrong question. The proper question must be:

What must I do to force Firefox / Waterfox to install an addon / extension?  :tellme:

Are there still any users of Mr Tech Toolkit?

I have been using it on 32-bit Firefox for quite some years, but now I am on 64-bit Waterfox and I simply cannot get Toolkit to work as it used to. "Open in RegEdit" is an addon that will work just fine in whatever version of Firefox you are running, but Waterfox refuses to install it, even though Mr Tech should make it happen.

But Toolkit has many options, so maybe I have forgotten the proper setting? Can you direct me?  :tellme:

-------------
The latest version is marked October 18, 2011, but may be much older. It is not on Mozilla:
* toolkit.xpi.zip (321.54 kB - downloaded 306 times.)

oops! I don't have an installer for version 10! I don't have the program installed, and TechSmith has no link for "update your version 10", only "upgrade to version 11"! Can someone give me a link to / copy of (preferably the latest) Snagit version 10 PLEASE ?

General Software Discussion / Program Files or Program Files (x86)?
« Last post by Curt on March 08, 2012, 10:16 AM »
Intro:
I am new to 64-bit Windows 7. I am also new to Waterfox, which is a 64-bit-only version of Firefox. I don't have Firefox installed. One of my favourite programs is Bulk Image Downloader [BID] which usually integrates with Firefox. But trying to make it work with Waterfox has made me realize some problems:

Problem:
Some of my program have installed into C:/Program Files/, while others have installed into C:/Program Files (x86)/ - and they cannot figure out how to work together!

Question:
Should they all install into "...(x86)", or is it normal that they install into two different directories?  :tellme:

When I first noticed the two installation places, I thought it was something like "oh, 32-bit programs goes into "Program Folders", and 64-bit programs will go into "Program Folders (x86)", but now I am in doubt, because they don't work as they should. As an example, the named "BID" has an extension for Firefox, but the extension cannot find the mother-program, probably because they are localized in two different directories.

Is it normal with this kind of problems on 64-bit?  :-\

General Software Discussion / Re: Found an Office Ribbon UI Editor
« Last post by Curt on March 07, 2012, 01:56 AM »
-interesting find, bob99

Useful link to understand the program:

How-To tutorial: "How to Create Office 2007 Ribbon UI with Office 2007 Ribbon Editor": http://www.fanhow.co...bbon_Editor_52519077

The man is a Microsoft developer:

Why develop Office Ribbon Editor?

As a Microsoft developer, I was faced with new challenges when Microsoft introduced the new Ribbon UI in their Office 2007 suite. In the beginning, I was excited with the possibilities, but I quickly became overwhelmed with the amount of work that was required to get a ribbon up and running.

I was extremely thankful when I came across the OpenXMLDeveloper's web site and discovered their tool. Coding became easier, but I soon found myself yelling at the editing tool! This is when Office Ribbon Editor was born. My application is based on OpenXMLDeveloper'sCustomUI Editor.

My goal in developing Office Ribbon Editor was to:
Correct issues or failures I found to be annoying.
Introduce a better coding environment with helpful tools

The weird thing about digital is the way distortion manifests itself. With analog, distortion generally increases and decreases with the total signal level. With digital, noise is fixed and has this weird way of sounding like it's increasing as you lower the volume. That's not something that occurs in nature, so your lower brain goes into a tailspin subconsciously trying to figure it out. The end result is that humans tend to be bothered (on a gut level) by digital distortion much more than they are by analog distortion. Probably because the way digital distortion behaves is "not of this earth." And on an instinctive level, your brain knows it - and flags it as potential danger.

Well said, and trustworthy.

However, 24/192 being fragile, is no excuse for Monty's clever argued distortion,
because 24/192 is superior, only the recording may not be.

Should this post had been in another thread? Really not. I am posting here to accept the theory that maybe Paragon was not the reason I lost my data...

I was installing 64-bits Nitro Pdf, and was informed by Windows that "This program is not a genuine 32-bits program".

hmm... always check and double-check; the Nitro installer was corrupted; not full size.
My system is 64-bits all right.

But I think I will go on and re-format and re-install.

-the salesman said it would install without any questions,  and he was right.

I will need to purchase a cable to move the downloaded backup files from the desktop to the laptop - moving is faster, than downloading from Livedrive. So I must be on my way at once; it is almost closing time around here.

-just now, this minute, I was installing 64-bits Nitro Pdf, and was informed by Windows that "This program is not a genuine 32-bits program".

Do you see the problem? The new Dell disc is W7 64-bits, so Fujitsu VISTA 32-bits is still governing this computer! Oh, damned! I have been downloading 24/7 for three days; Will I really need to wipe it all out and begin all over? Seems like it, to me.

-thank you for the explanation, April. Yes, there are so many other ways I can screw up my PC... oh, dear, so many threads I have created, asking for help - this being one of them. No, I am actually pleased with Fujitsu displaying their logo,..., because I like Dell even less!

Press Start, Type 'msconfig' (without the '') and hit enter...choose the boot tab...and if you see "Windows Vista" simply press "Delete" on it
-Stephen66515 (March 04, 2012, 04:41 PM)

-perfect, Stephen66515, thank you

and Thank you all

I am now free of the extra, black screen where I should choose between W7 and Vista.
Quite Interestingly I am still greeted by Fujitsu, not by Dell.

if you see "Windows Vista" simply press "Delete" on it :) - I dunno if this will cause any errors with your system though so, somebody else may wanna confirm this for you :)
-Stephen66515 (March 04, 2012, 04:41 PM)

-I must admit I am nervous about this, because of:

at boot-up I am greeted by Fujitsu, which was the company behind the Vista, but the new Win 7 comes from a Dell disc.
