You forgot that which is allocated to PEBKAC.
I hid that in the 70% "not installed right" part 8)

And a feature request:
  • Option to minimize the window

(Assuming the Move Window issue gets fixed)

I can see 2 minor issues:
  • Select All doesn't list it's shortcut key (Ctrl-A)
  • Closing without saving the data doesn't give a warning/option to save

Before I'd go through that much trouble on a cloudy/crap-colored display, I'd get another, better, display. You're probably watching it a couple of hours a day, why accept mediocre?

Trouble in paradise for you:

Backlight bleeding is caused by the casing and the display panel/backlight assembly not mounted completely light-proof, so a little bit of light is leaking (bleeding) at the borders of the display. A mechanical/construction issue.
There's exactly 1 way to fix that: Take the thing a part, fix the size and mounting issues of the parts and re-assemble it. That may prove to be impossible.

Sorry :o

I admire your determination to keep telling me to check the machine out. I think I will, but not until February at the earliest.
It's just that I know how you feel. I've been there too, several times, with several types of equipment, and the only way to get things back on track...

Being an experienced optimist ;), this aparatus started out wrong, and it'll be really hard to get it right.

I'm not trying to push you anywhere, just expressing my sympathy.

So, despite the 24 hour (or was it 48, forgot that detail) burn-in test done, the system is not stable. :(

the problem being that I can't afford to test it right now; if it fails then I've got a week's worth of installing and setting up to do.
You just have to set up that machine right. And it might involve a full re-install of Windows.
I know you said you updated all and every driver in the system, but that doesn't mean Windows isn't corrupted in some way. I've seen that happen from Windows 3.11 MS-DOS 2.x to Windows 7, and all versions in between. Just starting over with a format c: /s and restarting the tedious job of re-installing Windows and all your required software will eventually fix the issue. I understand you are not (yet) ready to go there.

About 15 % chance the memory (probably just 1 module) in the system is the cause of trouble (even after a burn-in test!)
About 10 % chance the video adapter/drivers is the cause of the trouble
About 5 % chance the hard-drive (boot/swap) is the cause of the trouble
About 0.01 % chance the PS/2 keyboard is the cause of trouble (saw that about twice in about 2000+ PC's in all my years building of PC's)
The rest (~70 %!) is caused by Windows not installed/decompressed right.

(Percentages are estimates)

Just my  :two:

Isn't this the same that 'happened' to Ad-Aware some years ago? Nearly everyone used to use that to remove ad- and spy-ware from their computers, until that 1 update where they decided that some type of ads where 'allowable' (iow: you could get on that 'exclusive' list by paying). Ad-Aware still sort of lives on, but it never recovered from the damage they did to themselves.

I learned a bit of that tube-technology when in (high)school, but was luckily born in such a year that I also was thought digital technology with 8 bit microprocessors 8)

All I saw was that today the forum-backup had shifted forward (as in: later than usual) 1 hour, but that could be on purpose, or have to do with the server time setting issue there was after getting re-powered, as rgdot pointed out earlier in this thread.

Sounds like Google is testing what they bought 8)

I expect the German judge to conclude in a few days that he and/or his court isn't qualified to rule for entire Europe, like a few months back on the Apple vs Samsung case :(

Did you ever try connecting both of its USB inputs?
-cranioscopical (December 10, 2011, 10:39 AM)
The 7" model only has 1 input, and only 1 connector on each end of the cable (that are each in their sockets), for what I know, so, what both USB inputs? :o
2496
There's another one with exactly the same name, you're the 'Droid on Roid' publisher name I guess?

Looks nice, I'm now only curious about it's size, as my phone's memory is nearly filled :-[

Wow! At Last! Great

The MIMO is connected to a USB port on one of the DELL 20" monitors (I assume this is a powered USB port).
I do remember someone (a colleague I guess) saying that he could even power an iPad from one of those Dell ports (that iPad really needs a lot of power, exceeding the formal USB 2.0 specs, most Apple laptops have 1 port with extra power, AFAIK), so I guess it's a power issue, combined with that BIOS update, that fixes this.

I first thought that 30 to 40 buttons would the right amount (or even more) but I now think it's way too many. Keeping layouts to around 20 buttons or less will, hopefully, be easier to remember.
You can run several instances of WinButtons (by giving it a -f filename command-line parameter for a specific file, and -t xxx -l yyy for a specific desktop position) that are positioned side by side so you have quicker response when switching apps in a context-sensitive config (less buttons to redraw), and because of less screen updates, there's less distraction for the user.
