I printed out the 8"x8"x8" baby cody model.. The scaling up had a couple of issues.. the most serious one was I enabled supports and they kind of merged into the model, which has required some facial reconsutruction for baby cody.  No cost was spared to give him a proper beak, but I will need to wait until he wakes up from surgery to determine whether it was a success.  If so he will go in for painting and then have his photo taken..

What is the influence of color, printing speed, extrusion temperature and ageing on my 3D prints?

Article: http://my3dmatter.co...ing-on-my-3d-prints/

In February 2015, 3D Matter conducted a study on infill %, layer height, and infill pattern. We wanted to continue this initial effort by studying another set of very important FDM 3D printing parameters: filament color, printing speed, extrusion temperature and ageing. These are parameters that 3D printer users have frequently singled out as making a difference on the outcome of prints. So the goal of this study is to distinguish the factors that have a large influence on the printed parts from those that have limited influence. This helps users optimize their prints by focusing on the important parameters.

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: favorite clips - sorting
« Last post by mouser on April 06, 2018, 05:48 PM »
You can control the listing order, it's just a bit awkward..
See if this thread helps: https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=32162

Essentially, there is an "Ordering" column for clips, whose default value is blank.  By default the order of listing items in the Favorites (and quick paste menu in general) uses this value to sort, so by filling in numeric values here (positive or negative) you can control the listing order.

The screencast video link on the top-level post is a 404.
Thanks dj.  The screencast videos got moved around when the new site was made, I still have to fix all the links to those.  I've replaced the link on the first post with one to a youtube tour of SC for now.

I think you're confusing the thumbnail panel with the "clipart panel".

The thumbnail panel, which is (almost) always on screen and shows the content of your current screenshot directory, has no such right-click "browse here" entry, but only because there has always been an easy way to browse your current screenshot directory, from the main menu.  From the main menu choose "GoTo-> " and then the 2nd item down is "Explore at current screenshot directory".  Or to do it fast hit Alt+G and then E.

The new feature is for the Clipart Object functionality, which allows you to drop special clipart images on your screenshots and manipulate them as objects.

It's stephen.
That is all you need to know.  There is no why.

Welcome to the site GThreepwood.. A little Monkey Island reference?

1. Is there a way to cancel a "Selected Region" capture with right click?

No, but that's a very good idea -- can't think of why not to add that.

2. Is there a way to have 2 separate hotkeys for whether we want to copy to clipboard or whether we want to save it?
By default SC likes to always save captures, and that's what I recommend people think about getting used to.. And letting SC auto sort old screenshots into dated old folders (or delete them).  You could also use the post-capture dialog and i think use some-alt shortcuts to tell it what you want to do after every capture without too many clicks..  But I'm open to hearing ideas.

3. Finally, does this program have a color picker? Sometimes I need to check the hex number or the RGB numbers of a color quickly.

Under the tools menu, SC integrates with the free ColorCopt tool, which it installs in the Tools subdirectory.  You could add other tools easily too.
ALSO, SC *always* shows the color under the cursor in the statusbar, near bottom right.

General Software Discussion / Re: Backup Software recommendations 2018?
« Last post by mouser on April 04, 2018, 02:34 PM »
Are you sure you don't want an online backup service?  Not only does it do most of what you want, and the user doesn't have to worry about managing "where" the files are stored; and you don't have to worry about an hd crash losing then.

There are a handful of top online backup services.. We've been discussing many of them here: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=44235.0

Carbonite, Backblaze, SpiderOak (which I use)

These aren't too laborious to produce.. Some spray paint, oil marker, and hand painting the beak, feet, and eyes.

I'll try some more sizes for cody and the coin...

Text on coin face and around the rim are customizeable.

So, it seems to me I could make a couple dozen of these with custom text and send them out to special folks.

The problem was that you used
[attachthumb] or [attach]
in your post.
Those are only for images.

If you simply add nothing to your message, you will see your file available as an attached item for download at the bottom of your post.

OR you could do
[attachurl]
which is the same (shows a download link) except that you decide where in your post the download link is shown.

I've gone ahead and modified your post for you to show you.
