The Rat's Point Of View

A Lab Rat had one of his buddies over for a visit.  While showing off his maze to his pal the guest rat noticed a guy wearing a white lab coat.  "Who's the guy in the smock?" he asked the host.  The host replied "He's my servant.  I merely ring the bell and he feeds me.  Would you like some fresh cheese?"  "Sure" replied the guest. Ding ding ding.

" ... and would you like a hat like mine as well?" asked the Lab Rat.  "That's not a hat!" said his bud...  :(

I don't have any problem with the Spoiler, but, the YouTube button in Edit mode is invisible to me, and sometimes YouTube links are also sometimes invisible, with just a blank space on screen where they and the still image are. Not sure, but I suspect it is NoScript doing this.
Because flash is mostly blocked, I can't play YouTube flash files (or not properly, at any rate) even when I can see the link.
I am using HTML 5 now, and that seems to avoid the latter problem.

Have you tried deleting the YouTube file (s.ytimg.com) in Flash Player?  Then close your browser(s), reopen and click on a YouTube.

This fixed a different issue i had with YouTube.

I can't seem to view any spoilers here.  Is it a DC Personal Preference or my machine?   :tellme:

my info:  Windows Vista   Home Premium-SP2   Intel Core 2 Duo CPU    T6400 @ 2.00GHz    4GB RAM    64-bit        Windows Internet Explorer 9

I presume it is something i have turned off somewhere because they used to work.

Which throwback holiday character are you?

I haven't given my results from this quiz on the grounds that it may tend to incriminate me. Were your results any better?

Quiz said the Grinch and i seem to have outgrown the holiday spirit.
Jack Skellington's: 'You celebrate the holidays in your own way'.... would be more accurate.   :)

... i have become what my mother used to call 'a stick in the mud'.  ;D

You may be too stoned if...

You know someone is tripping if...

They encounter a table and chair.  There's about a one foot gap between them.  They stop to decide should they:

a) try to walk through the gap without moving either
b) move the chair to make more space and walk through the larger gap
c) walk around the chair
d) ask a friend what to do

This could be a too-high dilemma as well... so it's aa) try to walk through the chair.   ;D

You may be too stoned if...

you're tired of talking midway through a sentence

walking to your kitchen seems like an epic journey

you spend 10 minutes searching for something and then realize you're holding it

you can't figure out how to operate a seat belt

you drive 10mph on the street

you stop at a stop sign and wait for it to turn green

you start stealing friends lighters

you enjoy not being able to move

you get lost in your own house

General Software Discussion / Re: New App - Floating Ruler - Feedback?
« Last post by crabby3 on November 25, 2014, 10:36 AM »
Some may like this as well.
Ruler works great but the protractor and screen-cap features are excellent... IMO.  :D

http://www.picpick.org/en/

Their site says the Freeware version may include third-party (sponsored) advertisements but as I recall if you choose Custom Install these can be avoided.

Occasionally i revisit some of my older posts to see if the links still work.  This PicPick is still valid..  :)  ...and it also reminded me to 'check for updates'.
I leave auto-update unchecked.  It's annoying because it checks every time i startup.

For Microsoft Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista and XP. Including both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Just 10-days old.

v4.0.1 (2014-11-15)

◦Added Share Tab
◦Added an option to exit when closing Image Editor
◦Added Open File Location in tab menu
◦Added default program mode
◦Added Triangle Shape
◦Improved Widget (Capture Bar)
◦Fixed an issue of color palette on Windows 8.1
◦Fixed an issue of repeat last capture
◦Fixed mouse cursor issues
◦Fixed an issue of box.com connection

We guarantee that this commercial free version of PicPick is 100% CLEAN which means it does not contain any advertisement or thirdparty softwares.
This is new.  There is no Custom Install any more and... it installed right over-top of the older version... no uninstall needed.   ;D

There's a portable version as well... on the download page... as of this post.

Are there any stills that show details of the machine?  The rear facing video view gives the impression he fired the rockets from a standing start.  I find that hard to believe unless he was running some hefty gyroscope.  Unless the video is edited.  Otherwise I'd expect the thing to fish tail and skitter across the raceway.

Most of these were at the end of the video.   :)

Living Room / Re: Where do you buy your printer ink?
« Last post by crabby3 on November 23, 2014, 11:06 AM »
But I don't remember how laser printers work..

(condensed version)Laser draws image on drum, drum picks up toner where laser has altered the drum's charge, drum transfers image to paper, fuser (or fixing unit as they are sometimes called) melts toner into paper.

Side note: In certain really cold environments a laser printer will emit a visible amount of steam when the paper comes out if the humidity is high enough for the paper to be just a tiny bit moist ... Oh the fun we had on that service call..

Laser vs inkjet... which is a better value?  Sounds like laser printers would be more precise and give finer detail.
My only experience is inkjet.  Occasionally I print something... maybe once every 2-years.   ;D

But did anyone notice how it goes very quickly from "HEY! We can communicate!" to "HEY! We can blow up and kill people!"?

I presume you meant worldwide killing?  :(  Sad but true.

BTW: If you use a GPS device you can thank the US Military.   :P

Thought this was cool enough to share here :)

Side note: Anybody know what Sputnik has do with any of this?

Definitely cool... thanks!   :)

I have always viewed Sputnik as a dent in the US's armor, regarding the space-race, rather than any future military threat.
This possible threat may be why it's included.  :(

Can't really give a good internet-creation timeline without satellites.

Sure looks friendlier.  This is v2.4 so maybe it's a touch-screen version?
I don't recall some of these features... but it's much easier to use.  :)

Not girly mixed drinks. ( ..., anything & fruit juice, ...)

Never thought of The Melon Ball as girly but more of a party-starter.

Case in point:

First company picnic... food, soda, beer, electronic-darts... basically boring.
Following year picnic... food, soda, beer, 2-gals of melon balls, wet t-shirt contest, topless dancing (male and female), happy people... ;D

ingredients:  1-part vodka, 2-parts Midori melon liqueur, OJ, ice.
