So I'm looking for the best solution to stock and organize code snippets - I have Cintanotes and EtherVane Echo and other odd and ends but they are not exactly what I'm looking for, though of course they are excellent in what they do.

It has to be something where I can just click on a snippet and it's copied to the system clipboard and where the snippets can be moved around between folders and so on ...

Any suggestions please ?

tomos : take a look at TagKeys. I use it all the time to store and enter logins, unimportant passwords, snippets etc. There are lots of built-in macros and it might just do the job.

It also slides out  :D

On the downside it doesn't seem to be under development any more.

About clickable urls : how about urls in the URLs View being clickable - just another idea ?

Still enjoying testing Ethervane Echo - two ideas, remarks or requests, but which may go beyond the scope of the app :

  • have you thought about drag-and-drop or Move to ... ? The possibility of moving a clip from one Quick view to another (and in particular to a custom view, e.g. Archives) either by drag-and-drop or an option in the context menu to Move to ... As things are the Quick views can only contain filtered clips.

  • and what about clickable urls ?

BTW the way, unless I missed it somewhere, could you comment on the name : is it Ethervane like weathervane ?

I use one called Yadis Backup. Simple backup program, not too many configuration options, but works for me.

BTW, if you're still trying Bvckup, how are you getting on with the filters ? I'm having problems including some files from a folder and excluding all others ...

Renegade, another one you might like to look at here (look for PROBLEM ORIENTED RECORDS installer), there's a full description at Softpedia here.
I know it talks about medical records and so on but it contains a speech recognition word processor.

You never know ...  :P

Some details : as stated in the article the supernova can be found in the Pinwheel galaxy near Ursa major (Great Bear, Big Dipper, the Plough etc), the Pinwheel galaxy is NGC 5457 or M 101.

To find the galaxy look at the first two stars (Alkaid and Mizar) (on the "left") of the "handle" of the "plough" and then look "upwards" from them to a central point forming the apex of a near-equilateral triangle with those two stars forming the other two corners and the baseline. The Pinwheel galaxy is at that point.

You could also checkout MultiCommander which is very configurable including custom scripts and much more. It is a two-pane explorer with tabs but you can switch to one pane and back. I've been testing MC and playing around with it for a few months now and I'm getting to like it.

As april says, it wouldn't be that surprising if we used Drupal.  I definitely have a love/hate relationship with Drupal, but i have used it now in several projects and i have quite a bit of experience with it.

I find it completely unintuitive and unpleasant, but there are still good reasons to use it as a CMS, and it would be at the top of the list of contenders for DC.
