Ashampoo Burning Studio 11 Pro can do what you want.

This is just page 1 of several pages with options:

-the next page will offer to import disc data etcetera.
Page 3 is about creating the text tables (content) of your choice:

General Software Discussion / Re: recognize blocks in pdf, align them and edit them
« Last post by Curt on August 17, 2012, 03:12 PM »
the problem with PDF to RTF/DOC/TXT converters is that they mess up the text because they try to retain the layout

-no, but they might OFFER to save layout. In Nitro I can click "convert and save as one column without original layout". However, it doesn't take much before the file is claimed to merely be a scan => save as bitmap instead. I even have files that were made by Nitro, but that Nitro cannot convert. So, mostly I will prefer to merely edit in PDF format, using Infix, rather than first convert to "normal" text format and then edit.

editing a pdf file is "per page"; you cannot make the editor push the existing text on to the next page - meaning that any edit must stay within the already existing 'space' (or insert a new page). If you need such feature, converting to RTF or similar is necessary.

I don't understand what you mean with "put them in line sequencially"

Infix is a ($$) fine pdf editor.

The new version 3 is most likely supposed to be both simple and smart looking
- but in my conservative eyes, it is merely weird.
This is the opening window:

Notice that there is no "close"-button! Only when the file(s) have been added, will you go to the editor's window with the option to exit.

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: free ABBYY Screenshot Reader
« Last post by Curt on August 10, 2012, 07:40 AM »
I guess it was my words that were wrong. It happened because I haven't yet installed my new version, so I didn't dare to call it 9.0.0.1134#5988 - or whatever version it is - but skipped the (unknown) "1134", saying "9.00 ... 5988" (the exe is named ...setup5988)
My bad.  :-[

Edit:
All the content of the setup file is stamped January 2009...

It should be noted that the 153MB ABBYY Screenshot Reader still can be retrieved for free, and that it is at version 5988 - meaning NOW is a good time to get it, before the most-likely-not-so-free version 6 is launched. However, you need to first answer a few fair questions  and give your email address: http://www.abbyy.com...enshot_reader_bonus/

Edit:
I got the version's number wrong. It is at version 9.0 ... "part 5988" - so it must be quite new?

Langa is telling what most of us already know, but without the exaggerations...

Test-driving ‘free scan’ tune-up suites

By Fred Langa on August 8, 2012 in Top Story

(...)  Just as with the previously-discussed tools, when I drilled down to examine these problems, some (such as junk files) were real, with most of the rest either exaggerated or simply wrong. (...) WinZip System Utilities Suite (and the other scanners discussed below) seems to deliberately inflate the seriousness of some items — for example, calling its own website’s harmless cookies “privacy traces.” (...)

(...) ... the software I test-drove for this article clearly seems aimed at inexperienced users who are more likely to purchase “repairs” when confronted with frightening reports of critical and numerous system problems.

Those, however, are relatively minor transgressions compared to reporting serious problems where none exist, such as flagging fully up-to-date drivers as “ancient.”

All of this seems designed to make your PC appear to be in dire need of paid-for repairs, when in fact there appear to be no real operational problems.

-yeah, that came out somewhat blurry...

I meant to say, there is no such thing as a "congress" of baboons.
2140
I agree against any "congress" of baboons. However, the term is not new; I heard it used maybe five years ago in an episode of Steven Fry's TV-show QI (short for "Quite Interesting") - with so and so many million viewers. With the show being a form of intellectual, did-you-know quiz, (Fry didn't create the questions / answers himself, but was merely hired to do the presentation), it is likely that some of these millions now believe it to be a proper term.

« Last post by Curt on August 06, 2012, 03:31 AM »
Today's giveawayoftheday is Fotis SysResources Manager 11.1, and as I was testing it, I was thinking it pretty much can do everything that AnVir Pro can do  and then some!  It even has a rare but potential useful collection of shortcuts to Windows' system folders. In fact I was thinking about replacing AnVir Pro with Fotis when my AnVir license becomes outdated!

-version 12 is the giveaway of "today": http://www.giveawayo...resources-manger-12/

INFO:
because these SaN_ files are text files, they are fully readable by simply pointing at them in Explorer, if you have QTTabbar installed:

But as you maybe can see, SAN did not use Unicode, to create the file ("råd" became "r_d").

Finishing it up now then will ship the binaries back off to app103 (April) to release :)

-so, what happened? LaKraven's post was dated 27 Dec, but the available zip file is dated 20 Dec.

the timing of this thread is so weird to me. The day before yesterday I ran CrystalDiskInfo, and the thermometer said 42°C. Yesterday it said 48°C, and today it is shouting 58°C (you can cook a roast-beef at this temperature)!! - each time after approx 2 hours from Start. The sun is not even shining, and the front-door is open, so the room temperature is fair. I hope CrystalDiskInfo wasn't made by some hardware manufacturer trying to trick me into purchasing a new computer...

Normal non-techies would never think they needed this one. My girlfriend has owned a laptop for 5 years, but whenever I tell her to open Explorer, she goes Open what? How?. However, being a woman, she has on her own figured out how to really master her iPhone...

That's an old school formal writing guideline (and one I like!).

-would that be "(and one (1) I like!)"?
The explanation sounds right, though - like when in the older days, the sum on a cheque had to be both spelled in letters and in digits. Thank you for the link.
