1. SoftMaker Office 2012 for Windows updated

We have just released a new revision of SoftMaker Office 2012 for
Windows which adds important new functions:
- TextMaker now also opens WordPerfect files.
- Optionally, the dialog boxes in SoftMaker Office use the visuals of
Windows 8 (you can set this with the Tools > Options command).
- Three functions have been added to PlanMaker: SumIfs, AverageIfs, and
CountIfs.
If you already use SoftMaker Office 2012 for Windows, you can download
this new revision as a free service pack.

English words are mainly of 'West-Germanic', Scandinavian ('North-Germanic'?), and French origin.
I'm not sure of proportions.
(I couldnt answer your question either way.)
PS I've no vested interest in the article. I've read a fair bit about the evolution of the English language but not really -whats-the-word- 'scholarly' stuff

The product is available as a Free or a Pro version. Going Pro normally costs $49, but if you head to http://www.sysnew.com/sysrestore-pro/ before December 1st you can get it for free. You'll find the licence code on that page, ready to paste into the free trial program that you can download from a separate link on the site.
Note that you'll need to turn off any similar product that you already use. As for Windows System Restore, if you forget to turn it off before installing SysRestore Pro then the program will offer to do it for you.
In my own tests, the program worked very well. I set a snapshot, then deleted a handful of files, then chose to restore to the snapshot point. A few seconds later, and after a restart or 2, my PC was back to its previous state with the files intact.-Gizmo
