depending on the length of the clips, ZS4 Video Editor will come in handy. used them previously when i had the same problems with the digicam.

you may want to try Google Calendar, which has plenty of user created contents for different states, countries, festivities etc. also since gcal is integrated with gmail, sending out alerts won't be much of a problem.

Find And Run Robot / Re: use digit to open directory
« Last post by lanux128 on October 07, 2009, 01:48 AM »
When I do a directory search and press "5" or "Numpad 5" for the fith entry in the result I open that directory in the search string and have to press enter to open it.

Is there away that the digit would open the directory directly in my prefered file manager like it works with opening files?

i didn't know this wasn't possible..

edit: yes, the numpad keys only insert the folder name into search bar.

this would hopefully simplify the numerous steps one has to go through when trying to install a program in hurry. the plan is good and i wonder how the execution will be?

i haven't had much use for this tool but maybe you can have a try at Playlist Creator 3.6.

Create playlists of your favorite music in seconds. Supports drag and drop, readout of tags from all media files, a large number of predefined file types, user-defined file types, open and edit existing playlists, etc.

I have checked further, within the last half an hour, and it seems to me that Ashampo probably has nothing to do with my Blue Screens. ...

I am going to re-install Ashampoo.

thanks for the vote of confidence, Curt. :)

Curt, you mean the new 9.12 version of Ashampoo caused a BSOD? i was about to install it, now i'm having 2nd thoughts.

yes, that works.. i 'solved' the missing language problem by going into the "translations" folder and deleting all files except for "en_US.qm" (english). :D

i find it interesting the approach taken by Microsoft's team in "maintaining the balance" between exposing the power-user features and the ones that average users will be using everyday. but at least, that's where the "third party" tools and utilities come in to fill the gap.

that's the beauty of AHK, you can pick the best of the bunch to suit your needs.. take a look at both sources and maybe you can come with something. :)

lanux: you just gave bad news:
MSE will be offered to users in 19 countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
No Portugal :(

there is a Softpedia link in that article, which allows one to download the program, but i'm not sure whether it checks for location when installing. only one way to find out. ;)

P.S. additional link: http://www.filehippo...urity_essentials_xp/

there is a similar program by jgpaiva here and a exe version which you can try out, if you wish.

edit by jgpaiva: fixed link

DownloadSquad did a piece on this, perhaps this offering from Microsoft will fare better than MSAV. ;) having said that, i'm curious too how will this change the playing field..

OK, I tried CloseMany again.  In order to close multiple instances, one must hit the "Kill" button instead of the "Close" button.  That worked.

i guess it works like Process Explorer's "Kill Process Tree" command. :)

you can try Skrommel's CloseMany, which can close multiple programs or services at once. you can click on the header to sort and select multiple items to close quickly

Skrommel seems to have added support for Firefox some time back. subsequent new releases of Firefox may have broken the script.
