ok i got ya. that's easy enough to add -- will do.
definitely a minimalist version of the idea of actions that we've talked about for farr for a long time but i keep putting off in search of a unified nice user interface approach.

I have decided that we need to do the one thing we can do, which is enforce a policy of no more upx-packed ahk executables allowed on our site or forum.

I hope that the autohotkey folks will take steps to stop upx packing by default.

Until then: https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=21327

If you using the AutoHotkey language to build tools, and share the compiled ahk executable on this forum, there are steps you now need to take to stop your programs from being flagged as viruses.
Please see this thread for more information on stopping ahk from using UPX compression to pack your executables:
https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=21327

As of today, I am advocating that we no longer host any compiled ahk utilities that have been "packed" with upx, which is something that autohotkey does by default when it builds exes.

The process of packing the executable with UPX results in a smaller sized file, but causes a continuous an inevitable false virus malware alert sooner or later.

Any application packed with upx by ahk compilation is almost guaranteed to be marked as a virus sooner or later and is going to cause trouble for any site that hosts it, and any users who get scared by it.

The true fault of this lies with the antivirus programs, but until we can get them to stop their bullshit, this is the only thing we have control over.

SO: If you are an ahk coder, go to your autohotkey /Compiler folder and delete the upx.exe executable.  That will stop ahk from packing your executable with UPX, and should solve the problem.

Again i repeat -- if you use AHK, do not upload to this site any compiled ahk program that is packed with upx -- remove the upx.exe from your ahk and recompile please.

Once again this is due to Autohotkey..
You know so many of the small programs on our site are Autohotkey, and it's a wonderful tool.

But as this keeps happening year after year, some of my anger is starting to spread out to the Autohotkey site itself -- this is ruining the reputation of Autohotkey, and harming the adoption of the language/tool -- and i don't get the feeling that the Autohotkey folks are treating this with the seriousness that they need to.  We stand ready to help them, but they have to show more of an effort to halt this problem.

Thanks for the report -- i'll contact them.

I can't help but hope that these companies that are continually profiting by scaring people away from good sites get sued into poverty.

the most critical/powerful single feature would be to add support for a <currentselection> keyword.

can you elaborate?

ha!!!
you found a cheat!
and it let me "beat" the game finally.. but damn what a lame ending-- nothing happens !!

welcome Peter, glad you like the program

regarding the sort -- i thought it already did.. where do you see it showing sort alphabetically? can you attach a screenshot?
17292
you're right -- thank you for reminding me that i don't really need an exact full size page -- i just need something that can render a full sized 8.5"x11" page onto it's screen legibly.  And with some smart border whitepace removal, these near-full-sized displays might be fine.
17293
from official page:

DEVICE SIZE:
9 inches (228.6 mm) by
11 inches (279.4 mm) by
0.268 inches (6.8 mm)

so it's not going to be a full sized 8.5x11 page, but it's getting closer.
i still don't understand why they come so close to a full page display and yet don't seem to think it's important to actually make it full size.. you'd think that it would be enough of a selling point to make it something they would want to achieve..
17294
if someone can find where there is an official description of the actual screen size, i'd love to see it.
17295
boo hiss to plastic logic

from their new web page:
"It’s large 8-1/2" x 11" shatterproof display looks and reads like paper."

but look closer down the page at the details:
# Display (viewable area): 10.5-inch diagonal, 944 x 1264 pixels at 150ppi, 8 gray levels
# User Interface: Full Touchscreen, Virtual Keyboard
# Battery: Rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, charging via computer or wall charger
# Dimensions: 8.5" x 11" x .3"

in other words, the actual display area is NOT 8.5x11, it's considerably less -- and their description seems designed to trick you into thinking the display is full page size -- which might explain why the arstechnica article seemed to get it wrong.

definitely not something i'll be buying.
17296
it's a good idea to have hotkeys to switch between object modes, i'll put it on todo list.
17297
Check the "Objects" tab in options, there is a checkbox for this.
17298
You accidentally moved files elsewhere than you thought.

agreed -- make sure you search the disk for them.. i've had diropus move to the folder above and below the one i intended before when using drag+drop.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Mini-Review: Breeze Cat Litter System
« Last post by mouser on January 06, 2010, 10:25 AM »
it's a normal large litter box, as large as any ive owned though its not designed to hold much actual litter, just a thin layer of pellets that don't get thrown away.  i only have 1 cat so i can't speak to the issue of multiple cats.  it has a back and side shield.

what can i say, it's not a space shuttle -- its $30, give it a try :)

By the way, the Amazon payment system is now quite competitive with paypal for small amounts.
