DcUpdater / Re: DCUpdater redundancy
« Last post by mouser on July 24, 2010, 04:00 PM »
yes i have been meaning to post that i found this to be the case too, and its a good clue i will try to release a new dcupdater release in the next few days that fixes this; i think it explains the mystery of multiple entries that people posted before that i wasnt able to reproduce before.

Pretty cool.

On the other hand, maybe it's just me, but i'd rather stick knives into my ears than listen to Aza Raskin explain one of his ideas as if he has discovered the secrets of the universe.  I get that apple vibe from people like this.. i'll pass.

After quick testing, I guess my main issue with the program is the selection of radio stations -- i think i really would like to find a very large selection of stations, primarily news stations.

I went looking for such a program a while ago, and look forward to trying this one and giving some feedback.  :up:

Find And Run Robot / Re: INDEX/CACHE vs REALTIME
« Last post by mouser on July 23, 2010, 11:01 AM »
welcome to the site oxman  :up:

i agree with your two main points:
- index/cache system should be enable/disable by directory
- try to find in index/cache first then into directory/realtime

an optional cache like this is on my todo list.

one workaround some people use, is the "Everything" plugin for farr, which uses an indexed search when you request it:

i may try to finally get a built-in optional indexing system in place before the end of the year.

LaunchBar Commander / Re: How to launch iTunes from LCB?
« Last post by mouser on July 22, 2010, 03:14 PM »
I don't know the answer to this -- though the "meta" answer is that whatever commandline can be used to launch it from a dos box can be used in LBC.

One way to handle these kinds of crazy shortcuts is to drag the start menu shortcut to LBC, and you should get that prompt from LBC asking whether you want to "copy the shortcut properties" or "link to the shortcut", chose the "link to the shortcut" option, which basically tells LBC to launch the startmenu shortcut, and let the startmenu shortcut do the launching.  The only caveat here is that if you move the startmenu shortcut for itunes, it will stop working.

Screenshot Captor / Re: Multi-Shot Capture (???)
« Last post by mouser on July 22, 2010, 02:04 PM »
Yes there is an auto timer you can configure in Screenshot Captor on the "Pre-Capture Options" tab, and engage using system tray menu.
Options screenshot:

ok i will see if i can't replicate and fix.. it may be due to the use of the pop-up dialog which i don't normally use myself.

ive had enough pain with the free python ides that i would consider buying one that solved the problems i encountered.

Screenshot Captor / Re: Issue with ScreenCaptor images on WordPress.com
« Last post by mouser on July 21, 2010, 10:47 AM »
i've never heard of such a warning.

also, screenshot captor does not add it's executable name to the image meta data as far as i can remember, but it DOES by default add the name of the executable that was being captured from, which sounds like what they must be talking about.

you can see that in the "comment" area under the screenshot.

however it's very simple to modify that to not store anything, or store just what you want, just go to the "File Naming Template" tab in options and change the "Default Comment":

Find And Run Robot / Re: Exception Error (EAccessViolation)
« Last post by mouser on July 21, 2010, 08:17 AM »
whoa that is very strange.. i've never heard of such an error with a fresh clean farr install..

did you run the installer or unpack it manually and run it portably?

it only happens when you start to type?
15940
thank you for sticking with it and not giving up.
i can try to go check the source code because your file looks fine.
you might try using
*/*/* - */*/* | 0-0 | 24.jpg
instead of
*/*/* - */*/* | 24-24 | 24.jpg

and see if that makes a difference?

Find And Run Robot / Re: FindAndRunRobot.ini
« Last post by mouser on July 21, 2010, 04:28 AM »
if my memory serves me correctly, it may not be writing the changes to the file until it exits; try exiting the program and then checking to see that the file changes.  if not, then i wonder if you have indeed modified your configdir.ini to tell it to save the ini file in the application directory.

ps. welcome to the site  :Thmbsup: glad you like the program  :up:
15942
make sure you restart the program after changing the .ini file.
it's just too much of a coincidence that the problem happened during that one time period where start time > end time, that i'm convinced that's the problem.
so i'm convinced that the new changes should work.. maybe try using a different picture for those time periods from 22:00 to 5:00 just to test it, and make sure to restart the program after changing the .ini file.
15943
can you clarify -- is the program not working at all and never changing pictures, or is it working for some time periods and not others?
15944
welcome to the site supermazy -- TemporalityScreens doesn't have too many users so i'm a little rusty on it, but
it looks to me like it's probably getting confused when the start time is later than the end time.
a good workaround to try would be to change the single entry:
*/*/* - */*/* | 22-05 | 2205.jpg

to:
*/*/* - */*/* | 22-25 | 2205.jpg
*/*/* - */*/* | 01-05 | 2205.jpg

see if that works.

General Software Discussion / Re: SUPERĀ© converter download link
« Last post by mouser on July 20, 2010, 11:19 AM »
i think finding the download for super is purposely made to be confusing, frustrating, and error prone,
in order to prepare you for the experience of using the software itself.

definitely a powerful program, but one of the more frustrating programs to use.. i don't recommend it for people who just want to quickly convert something.

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: CHS vs. ArsClip
« Last post by mouser on July 18, 2010, 11:43 AM »
very good observations; the icons in menu is a cool idea.

as for customizing which clips show in the quick paste popup, open CHS main window, right-click on the Quick Paste group and edit it and modify the SQL for the virtual folder.  by default it's: "NOT (IsInRecyleBin) AND (ModificationDateTime>=DateTimeMinusOneHour)"
if you change that to just "NOT (IsInRecyleBin)" you might see what you want.
