i'm linking some of the previous DoCo discussions, might give a clearer understanding of how SymLinks work. however i'm not a fan of junctions for the reason f0dder stated in his post.

Sam and Max season 1 for $4.95..

Full first Sam & Max season on sale for $4.95 through Jan. 31

First up, we've got an amazing offer for folks eager to dive into the world of Sam & Max. For $4.95--less than the cost of one episode, people!--you can get the full first season of Sam & Max! That's six games, from Culture Shock to Bright Side of the Moon, which makes for a great introduction into the baffling, excellent world of the Freelance Police, and all for under a buck an episode.

This offer's valid now through midnight Pacific Time on January 31st (this Sunday), so don't miss out on this frankly insane deal.

There are more Sam & Max games coming in 2010, so if you have yet to play any, there won't be a better time than now to check them out. Got the games already? Tell a friend, or better yet, give someone a gift!

Deozaan's right. it's Arcanum and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers for $5.99 per piece.

haven't played the former but Gabriel Knight is quite an imaginative adventure/horror game..

Gog.com has started a countdown on their main page which ends in about 7 hours. this mysterious countdown has generated a lot of response from gamers and has spawned a giant thread here.. whatever it is, be there in 7 hours (approx) to see if there is a cool promo or a damp squib is waiting for you. ;)

General Software Discussion / Best Twitter client?
« Last post by lanux128 on January 24, 2010, 12:26 AM »
thanks to its features like "Trending Topics", Twitter is becoming a quite good propagating tool. though susceptible to spams, it has the means to keep us informed with the news we want to know and not the other way around.

however, as the number of one's acquaintances grow, what is the best way to keep track of incoming tweets? or find out what is the breaking news, globally, regionally or across town?

i've been thinking that what is the best Twitter client out there to manage all this? or maybe it takes a couple of tools plus some tricks.. so for all twitter users from DoCo, do post here with your favourite tools or tricks regarding Twitter. they can be either desktop clients, online-based or even hardware devices such as mobile phones, pda, etc.

what Target said but the line should be like this:

FileSelectFile _SourceFileName, 3, %_InputDirectory%, "Select the file to be converted.", "Adobe PDF (*.pdf)"

the OutputVar (i.e. SourceFileName) need not be quoted..

I'll have a further look at this, but I guess I was looking for a freeware app since I'm unlikely to use it much...

the XChat program mentioned by Ehtyar above, does proxy setup and it's freeware. i've never tried it before but seems to be quite popular.

« Last post by lanux128 on January 15, 2010, 09:03 PM »
reviving an old topic but i had been looking for something similar and found the solution via nVidia's DTCFG Desktop Configuration Commands.

Description    Rotate a display to the designated orientation.
Format          rundll32.exe NvCpl.dll,dtcfg rotate <display#> <angle: 0,90,180,270>

Example        rundll32.exe NvCpl.dll,dtcfg rotate 2 90
Rotates display #2 to the 90 degree position.

thanks for that, seems it mostly talks about mIRC and Miranda

another wrinkle, the client MUST be able to deal with a proxy (seems quite a number don't cater for this...)

most of the modern IRC clients should be able to deal with proxies easily. here is a link to mIRC's proxy guide. fwiw, i mainly use mIRC on my desktop PC and Miranda IM on my netbook.

sorry for the confusion, it's the same link but with updated information about the Full version. :)

Recently we alerted you to a offer by EASEUS for a beta version of their well known Data Recovery Wizard.  There ended up being a lot of confusion about the limitations of the beta version. EASEUS passes on their regrets for any inconvenience our users may have experienced.

In exchange they would like to offer you a Full Version of their Data Recovery Wizard v4.3.6. that they currently sell for $69.  This version does not have the new features of their upcoming product such as full Windows 7 support, but I did test it in Windows 7 and it was able to recover some files that had been previously lost or deleted.
