I have kind of read out the SciFi section in the city library.  Due to the desire for a small, light, paperback with easy to read dark print I have resorted to reading The Time Machine by H. G. Wells yet again.  Oh well.  It is a short read and it has been awhile since the last time.

Edit: It is nice to have the eBooks by PKD but it is not always convenient to plug in the Laptop and all that business.  With hard copy I can enjoy sitting on a bench and reading.

I agree.  Details seem a bit sketchy.

It was only penciled in at the time.

Canvasing the comments has proven quite interesting.

I still wouldn't draw any conclusions from it. I'd wait until we get the complete picture.

I see the fountain of wisdom in that penning.

I think it's time that somebody here took the lead.

Take a list of [...] tabs and create a text file of the links?

Also if any of the methods of copying all open tabs to the clipboard as links will work, then this Howto Geek article shows how to put the links into a text file using the SendTo Menu:

http://www.howtogeek...ia-the-send-to-menu/

Edit: also it is likely a feature in some clipboard utilities.  I am not sure if CHS Screenshot Captor does it but I would be surprised if it didn't.

(I shouldn't speak for other's software)

Man tries to rob bank with a gun drawn on a piece of paper

He plead guilty to armed robbery? Was he actually armed? Details seem missing from the story.

;D I really did laugh out loud at that one

Heh heh.  Thanks.  :)

Edit:  Thanks to Deozaan for the great straight line.  ;)

Do you really need 3 threads in this forumsection to ask 3 times the same question? :(

Oh, and the other 2 already have been answered properly, too...

Also I thought somebody wrote a script for another poster that created .url shortcuts from  links in a text file.  It was not too long ago.

A good one to have.

I agree.  I like how it adds the scan button to the download/open dialog.  Sometimes it takes an extra click to get it to download after a scan but I can live with that.

This freebie is still available.  Seems pretty basic.

http://www.windowsde...iscount-coupon-code/

Or you could use SiteSpinner Free Trial.  The usage counter counts the number of days you actually load it.  Not just subtracting the first day from the current date.  So you can make the trial last for some time while learning how to use it.

Most of the single page wizards I have seen are built into hosted free web accounts.  The ones I tried were geared to posting a photo gallery with descriptions.

This sends a list of tab urls to clipboard

https://addons.mozil...addon/send-tab-urls/

The BBSS.exe utility that comes with Browser Bunch will make a list from open tabs but it does it via macro and may not handle duplicates.

Fair enough, I like working on motorcycles for much the same reason.

Now it all makes sense.  I was wondering why every time I wanted to use another core on one of your builds I had to pull the clutch lever and toe the peg up one.  :)

Too soon to say for sure.  But 39.03 seems much better at remaining responsive.

Is anyone else on Windows getting weird FF hangs since 40.x?  I backed off from 40.02 to 40.0.  Still getting spinning circles in tabs and weird hangs.  Think I am going back to 39.03.  That was more stable if I remember rightly.

Living Room / Re: How Much RAM? 4GB vs. 8GB vs. 16GB Performance - TechSpot
« Last post by MilesAhead on August 20, 2015, 07:22 AM »
Very nice find, thanks for sharing.  Bottom line of the article seems to be that 8gb is the sweet spot and makes a real difference over 4gb, but that 16gb doesn't yield much of an advantage over 8.

The line from the article, paraphrased.. once you have enough ram to run your programs more doesn't increase performance.. makes me think those guys who like to have 64 windows open and Firefox with 24 tabs, will still find use for 16 GB.  :)

I would check out the freebie.  I installed it on my system.  So I don't think it is any malicious software.  I just haven't used it.  If it is not what is desired just uninstall.

it was (is!) very difficult for him to explain what the program actually does. His homepage: http://spli-stuff.blogspot.co.uk/
All I can find on that site is a cr#$@load of videos. Not even a simple feature-list :o
I'm also in that camp of ppl that shy away "if there's no text describing what it does, it must be unworthy looking any further"

What I hate are those videos that claim to tell you how to get the Pro version of some software.  You watch the video and the guy goes to the web site of the software and downloads the free trial.  Gee I would have never thought of that!

I have no idea how well it works or how the output looks.  But there is a web page creation tool on giveaway:
http://www.mostiwant...version-license-key/

As Shades says, it is better if you have an understanding of what you are creating.  What I did when I got stuck was to post a question on CSS HTML Forums where pros hung around.  They would point me in the right direction.

It depends what you are trying to do.  Doing the markup yourself can take a long time.  You can find wizards that will create a Navigation Bar for you by generating a List.  When you mouse over it will hot track and when clicked you navigate to that page.  The list generated is regulation html, not gibberish, so no need to feel guilty about using such a tool.

For my latest site I just wanted a sorted list of files to download.  So I used a tool that created an index page from a folder.  From there it was a matter of pasting in the description for each download.

The quickie tools get you something that works fast but the generated HTML is almost impossible to read.  It usually has several hundred "&nbsp" sequences, which is the code for a blank space, stuck in clumps all over each page.

If you find a template you like then one of the wizard type page generators may be the way to go.  If you don't like the result chances are you only spent an hour or two on it so just erase it and crank up an editor to do it the hard way.  :)

Somehow that doesn't surprise me.  :)

I don't think I ever saw that Pharaoh Sanders album.  I'll check it out.

Man tries to rob bank with a gun drawn on a piece of paper

He should have just threatened the teller with his finger in his pocket.

The teller should have drawn an alarm button on the paper and pressed it.  Needless to say, it would be a silent alarm.
