[!] Beginning from the version 8.0, the Upgrade Policy changes:

now purchasing the registration code grants you the Free Upgrades Subscription for a certain period (a year). During this period, you are eligible to get any new versions of the program for free. After this period expires, you will have to purchase another registration code to prolong the Free Upgrades Subscription (in case you want to do so). Otherwise, you can continue to use the last actual version of the program, it will remain registered and fully functional.
-AWM version 8

 :(

also:

[!] Beginning from the version 8.0, the Licensing Policy changes:

now you must purchase as many copies of the program as many users will use the program simultaneously. There is no limit on the number of computers the program can be installed on and registered with the same registration code until the number of simultaneous users is less than or equal to the number of purchased copies. For more information, please refer to the license.txt document in the program's installation folder.

you don't need anything extra. In Thunderbird you mark / select the files you want to copy. Then go to "Files" and click Save As... > Files, and navigate to the folder > Save. That's all.

Found Deals and Discounts / why would you want to buy PowerDesk?
« Last post by Curt on August 13, 2013, 02:36 AM »
Update: PowerDesk Pro 9 is out!
And ???
go get it!
Seriously why would you want to buy this?

PowerDesk Pro 9 is on a fixed offer at Bits du Jour; normal price minus 30% => $28. Normally offers are good, but being on a fixed offer at BdJ is maybe not so good, because very often it signals that maintenance has stopped.

2013-08-13_093405.gif

I have not tried this version "9", or the previous "8.5",
so I ask the same question as Carol did (but maybe in a different tone):
"why would you want to buy this?"  :tellme:

Maybe "you" can answer the question?

http://www.bitsdujou...ware/powerdesk-pro-9
-PowerDesk Pro 9 30% discount code

info: I commented like this at BdJ: "PowerDesk 9 at minus 30% is not an offer, but normal price. I am disappointed to see Bits du Jour taking part in such bewildering!". My reason was of course that in my memory PowerDesk has been on offer ever since it was born.

Living Room / Re: The town where WiFi, TV, radio, and cellphones are banned
« Last post by Curt on August 12, 2013, 03:17 PM »
Wikipedia states they have TV and several FM radio stations - sending with low power only: "Most broadcast transmitters in the Quiet Zone are forced to operate at reduced power and use highly directional antennas. This makes cable and satellite all but essential for acceptable television in much of the region."

http://en.wikipedia....nal_Radio_Quiet_Zone

Besides, maybe these children are more being protected...

in ... West Virginia ... : no electronics. ... Radio Quiet Zone. ... That means no radio,  TV, WiFi, cellphones or bluetooth.

something is not accurate:

I hear her voice, in the morning hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And drivin' down the road I get the feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, Mountain Mama
Take me home, country roads
;)

They could of course "just" have fixed land-line connections.

The beginning of the original post was different but wrong,
because reality was different from what I first thought it to be.
--------------------------------------------------

This offer was when my discount code already had been accepted:

2013-08-11_095419.gif

Re-edited: For me this has been a new but weird situation. The payment page refused to tell me the final price in advance, but kept saying "Subtotal $25" plus on the next line: "coupon: -$10", without calculating the result - this way making me think $25 was the final result. Only AFTER I'd clicked "Confirm Order" was I told the result is $18,71 (they didn't mention VAT, but it clearly already had been added). This web store is not to my liking.

LinkStash 3 may very well be The Best of the kind,
but in my mind it is merely a bookmark manager and overpriced;
I have never really used my version 2 !
I can (and have) of course read the What's New,
but all the same I am asking (doubting) if version 3 really is worth another $18.71 compared to version 2?
 :tellme:

or is my resistance merely due to my hurt feelings from visiting their store (I aborted the purchase)?
