Living Room / The Candy Enthusiast Blog
« Last post by mouser on December 24, 2010, 12:03 PM »
I stumbled across this blog while searching for the name of one of my favorite candies, and had a great time exploring it.  Just reading her descriptions makes me feel like I am sitting there eating these as I read.

In case you haven’t guessed, I’m head-over-heels in love with confectionaries. It all started with my unusually large sweet-tooth, paired with an adventurous palate, and a need to document it all. If you ever have any suggestions, ideas (or both!) I’m always open to them... My goal as The Candy Enthusiast is to try everything once so you don’t have to. I think that’s pretty sweet, don’t you?

In a follow-up e-mail published this week, de Raadt outlined his current perspective on the controversy and his interpretation of the findings that have emerged from the ongoing code audit. Reviews are being conducted on the history and provenance of code in the IPSEC stack as well as the current implementation. Reviewers have uncovered several bugs that could have security implications, but the nature of the bugs suggests that they were not intentional, nor were they intended to facilitate a backdoor.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Classic Skin vs Modern Skin
« Last post by mouser on December 24, 2010, 06:27 AM »
Hi CyberEvil,

you are right that the skin possibilities are limited with FARR -- check out the samples to see the kinds of things you can do.  But unlike some skins you cant really change the layout of the windows too much, you can only change the appearance of the basic elements.

UrlSnooper / Re: Cannot detect valid streams
« Last post by mouser on December 24, 2010, 05:47 AM »
I just checked the first page, but here is what i found:
  • The stream urls seem to be specified without any file extensions
  • So URL snooper will only display them if you have the Protocol Filter set to "Show All"
  • In this setting i saw urls of the form "http://mms-cluster2.....no/P5_OSLO_WMA_High"
  • This does seem to be a valid stream, which was playable in window media player directly, and recordable with streambox vcr and probably other programs as well.

Just a quick note:

i will never go back to using a mouse without 2 buttons on the side.  i use them for Back and Forward when browsing the web and i could never do without them.  and of course only the certifiably insane would use a mouse without a scroll wheel.

Consider this a public service announcement.

For those of you who haven't yet gotten into the habit of making full system backups (i.e. full drive image backups), do yourself a favor and finally take the leap and get it done.

insert_nick, that is strange.. i wonder what is unusual about your video camera device that makes it not available to the webcam library. since this is my first experience coding for such a thing, let's see what other reports we get from other users about compatibility with their cameras.

oh wow that's an interesting find.. never even heard about that property!

insert_nick, make sure you explore the options, and switch to the Live Video tab.

this is a very highly configurable program, and it's going to require some exploration of the options before you get the hang of it.
