Find And Run Robot / Re: [Feature Request] Support Alt+Tab properly
« Last post by jgpaiva on June 12, 2008, 01:17 PM »
wraith: Check your options. On the  "Display" tab, check "Show on taskbar when active". If you're running Vista64, it might still not appear on alt+tab, but at least it is shown on taskbar.

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: Timer
« Last post by jgpaiva on June 12, 2008, 11:43 AM »
Oh, i hadn't noticed that.
It's interesting.. I search for "d\ga\tm", and Timer comes up, it really shouldn't.. I'm not sure if the regex would solve it, though, because i added that regex as a custom regex and then Timer stopped working as it did normally.

I guess mouser could give us some explanation? :)

nod5: now that's interesting!

For some strange reason, though, the second link isn't correct on my computer, it gets an extra forward slash '/'.

I just found a small bug in Timer's regex.. It should be "^tm(.*)$", so that it doesn't capture "tm" inside other words ;)

Or you could go for Vista 64 :)

I've been using it in my Core Duo2 laptop with 4GB of ram without having any problem for 3 months now.

Yeah, if someone "evil" got control of such network, much more interesting rsa keys would be broken, that's for sure.

Find And Run Robot / Re: how to unblock FARR in Vista
« Last post by jgpaiva on June 11, 2008, 04:30 PM »
That is precisely the reason that got me to disable UAC (even though it was with one of my ahk scripts and nor farr). It makes absolutelly no sense not to be able to set some kind of "please don't bug me with this again" kind of setting.
If anyone knows a solution for this, i'd really like to know it to.

Coding Snacks / Re: DetachVideo - Give embedded videos their own window!
« Last post by jgpaiva on June 11, 2008, 02:14 PM »
Hi VideoInPicture!

I really like your program, i think it has lost of potential. Unfortunately, i think the best use for it is for having thumbnails of open live messenger windows (with or without video), but it doesn't behave very well with those :(
I know it's MS's fault for making non-standard windows, but it'd be really sweet if it worked..

PS: you probably should reverse the order of the tray icon's options, "quit" should be the option on the bottom and not on the top ;)

Nope, it isn't just you, ecaradec.. It has been reported elsewhere also ;)

General Software Discussion / Re: Opera 9.5 — New Skin
« Last post by jgpaiva on June 10, 2008, 10:55 AM »
jgpaiva: what do you mean by scale issues on the tab bar?
When you scale the skin to 90%, the toolbars get smaller, but the tab bar keeps its size (which i think is WAY too big). It'd be nicer if it'd get smaller, specially given the fact that there's space over and below the text..

Find And Run Robot / Re: Output to Farr's memo mode

ok, cool!
Apparently the problem was that it wasn't launching without the full path (Vista64 here, probably related)

Now this is strange.. I can't configure farr to use ipconfig, doing "cn ipconfig" gives me no answer from farr (even after pressing enter)
What am i doing wring?  :-[

Out of curiosity.. Are you going to change the "end" / "home" behaviour of the keys on memo mode for this update, mouser?

I think the solution you presented now is very balanced, it protects DC's PR and still helps the interesting sites (i think that linking to "good" sites also probably helps DC, right?)

Oh, sorry for confusing you guys. Yeah, yesterday was friday, the 6th for the common mortals but not for me, cause i have a time-traveling delorean which i forgot to mention. (see attachment for proof, that's my D on my garage, notice the picture and the red neons on the wall)
I'm sorry, i just came back from 1975 to see the original screening of "Mønti Pythøn ik den Høli Gräilen" and so time really isn't linear for me ;)
I even brought one of the coconuts they used on the filming of the movie, got it for a bargain!

:-[ Let's say that as DC is my #1 site, it counts as two :)

(Ps: only now did i notice that yesterday was friday the thirteenth.. Well, one more gone with nothing bad happening :) )

Yep, and unfortunatelly they haven't fixed the scale issue on the tab bar :(
But it is looking better, the higher contrast on the elements contributes to a better Opera Experience™.

Just a heads up: There's a very similar post about rohos on another forum, and apparently the free version turns nagware after the trial period, from what is mentioned in this other thread.

General Software Discussion / Re: Opera 9.5 — New Skin
« Last post by jgpaiva on June 06, 2008, 04:39 AM »
Oh, i tried it yesterday (had to move the skins folder, as i was upgrading from a previous instalation and the installer didn't overwrite the skins folder).
I think it does look good, or at least way better than the previous skin.
I'm not very fond of the fact that they removed the "open pannel" button on the left edge, i liked it more like that.
Also, it's too bad that when you reduce the size of the skin, the tab bar doesn't get smaller. I think this is the biggest problem, right now i have a small toolbar with a tab bar that is almost 2 times larger :(

General Software Discussion / Re: Unlock files because of sharing violations
« Last post by jgpaiva on June 04, 2008, 08:25 PM »
Just a heads-up: the great Unlocker doesn't work on Vista64. But you can use ProcessExplorer's "find handle" menu option to obtain the same effect. It allows you to know which app is using the file, then close the handle.
