cranio...well, I suppose that is literally what I asked for!Still hoping that one day Ad muncher will some how figure out how to filter https ...-Cloq (December 02, 2012, 08:49 PM)
I hope not. If it does, it would totally invalidate any advantage https provides. It would totally break the security, and allow any [malevolent] access that https is supposed to provide.-barney (December 02, 2012, 11:44 PM)

Sounds to me like all they'd have to do is develop browser plugins and continue to use the same engine they currently have. I don't know how easy or hard that is to do, but a lot of other companies are able to develop browser plugins for their platforms...java, flash. I do have a problem with developers saying something "can't" be done, when really what they're saying is that they "won't" do it. Especially when there's already an example of it being done with ABP.If Adblock+ can block it, why is the Ad Muncher developer saying he can't?-superboyac (December 02, 2012, 01:01 AM)
I think it's because the blockers that run as a plug-in deal with the content from inside the browser so it deals with the page from the DOM - after it's been decrypted. Ad Muncher is a proxy - it doesn't run inside the browser, so it deal with the raw HTTP stream between the browser and the server. however, that means that it can't see inside an encrypted stream.
So I think for Ad Muncher to deal with HTTPS would require a fundamental change in the design of the software.-mwb1100 (December 02, 2012, 01:41 AM)
.I guess I wasn't being clear.
It's encrypted to prevent it from being read or modified.
That includes modifying it to remove the ads.
Ad Muncher will more than likely never filter https pages.
How many people here would use the Klingon interface?

Well...That was awkward...You don't even WANT to know what I thought the title meant...I'm honestly not sure what I expected when I clicked on thisDirty mind, sheesh! I didn't even mean anything this time, I swear!-Stephen66515 (November 27, 2012, 05:37 PM)

And it illustrates how true one engineer's observation that "Not everything worth doing is worth doing well" is a reality they all need to eventually accept and live with. This is my numero uno struggle in life. I don't know how to convince myself of this, yet I know I have to eventually or else I'm going to lose my mind, literally.-40hz (November 24, 2012, 11:56 AM)
I was just thinking...the one thing I do that keeps my keyboard significantly cleaner than it used to be is Nuance's Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Since I've started using it regularly the amount of time my fingers are resting on keys has easily been cut in half.Bam! I was about to transition to DNS also to experiment with new ways to make my computing life more productive. I'll need to hear your take on it all, but now I'm really going to try it.-40hz (November 23, 2012, 06:29 PM)
