I actually worried that under a certain age it might be quite hard for them to get a variety of pictures to show up because their proto-words would all sounds quite narrow in range to the speech recognition engine.. but then i figured well maybe it would serve as motivation to get them to vary their vocalizations..

you can go into options and turn off response to normal keys, and then the 2yr can hit keys on keyboard instead of talking.

FlipSuite and Flipbook Printer / Re: Cameras

It should be possible in one of two ways.

First, there may be a webcam utility for canon that lets other programs interface with the canon as if it were a webcam.
Second, there may be another way to interface with it.

The main problem is i dont have a canon dslr to test with.
See if you can investigate the first possibility, and let us know.

Find And Run Robot / Re: help me launch a music file!!!
« Last post by mouser on May 20, 2011, 12:40 PM »
It sounds like the default "music" alias is taking over.

Can you test something for me, go to your custom alias that you called "music" and name it something like "mus" and see if it works then.
Alternatively, go to your Aliases tab, select "Core-Search.alias" and uncheck the built in "music" alias.

ha!

Thank you very much for the report!
I'm not sure why voice recognition wasn't enabled by default.  What operating system are you using? Maybe it's a feature I don't have on my windows xp x64.

I wonder if i shouldnt set it by default to only show 1 image full screen per monitor -- or at least change the options so that it doesn't result in those very stretched images occasionally.  Avoiding duplicates would be good too.

I ordered some sugru when it was first announced and got a few tiny tiny satchels of it.. each one barely enough to make a marble sized thing out of.
Then i walked around my house for 2 days looking for something to use it on.. and couldn't find a single thing  :-\

mikiem,
thank you for such a detailed post.

i'll note that i have had a third-party blank ink cartridge leak in my canon printer once.

I'd like to see more of this kind of thing, a website publishing their large collection of writing in book form.
This is one for fans of old school graphic adventures:

It is 772 pages in length, covers over 300 games and includes a number of interviews with classic game developers. It is an expansive tome, jam packed to the brim with history, criticism, and trivia. If you've ever asked the question "If I like LucasArts and Sierra games, what other games should I play?", then this book should be your bible.

You can also order it from amazon.com.

Find And Run Robot / Re: A unified FARR / Launcher Interface Proposal
« Last post by mouser on May 19, 2011, 11:41 AM »
Another twist is to have the "dock" menu auto populated by FARR base on launch frequency + score weight.
that's an interesting idea to chew on..

Find And Run Robot / Re: FARR searching LBC shortcut
« Last post by mouser on May 19, 2011, 01:01 AM »
This is an idea that has come up and i have an idea for it that could be relatively simple and useful in a broader context.

What if i had an option called in LBC called "Mirror shortcuts for this launchbar in a directory"

If you check that, LBC would actually create a directory tree with standard windows shortcuts to the files in the launchbar.

You could use this shortcut folder in many capacities, including pointing FARR to it for quick searching or browsing.

Alternatively, i could write a farr plugin that could read LaunchBarCommander .mcf files and let you search them.

I'm skeptical as to the point of this -- whether one exe or two, i just still dont see how FARR would actually *behave* differently if it was integrated into LaunchBarCommander, or vice versa.  What am i missing?

Go to the main window, left "tree" panel, right click on the Quick Paste group, and choose "Edit this Group"

Then in the SQL edit box you'll see something like: "NOT (IsInRecyleBin) AND CreationDateTime > DateTimeMinusOneHour"
The offending part of the sql that is causing what you are experiencing is the "AND CreationDateTime > DateTimeMinusOneHour" part.

Try maybe changing it to
"NOT (IsInRecyleBin) AND CreationDateTime > DateTimeMinusSevenDays"

It would be nice if you could have a option to display that one instead of the T-Clock one.
yeah actually it would be nice if we had some options for calendar, like to display t-clock one, windows one, or a custom exe.

Many clipboard tools can do this kind of thing, including my Clipboard Help+Spell.  They are a bit overkill if you don't need the clipboard and text formatting features regularly.

ps. Thumbs up for Janis Joplin, one of the greats

from the main window you can.
i could make it a global option whether to paste after formatting text with the quick popup menu.
