Added poll based on top 9 programs, I am suprised at the tie!
Vote away and lets see what one wins (FARR has 14 users for the top 3, 5 more then DOpus!)

OK, I am going to take a stab at continuing my ever-lasting list of programs here, i have 3 pages now...this wont be difficult...not at all :P

As soon as I get the list done (about 30 mins or so) I will post a poll on the most popular programs. Looks like Firefox, DOpus and FARR are in the top couple (if I remember correctly).

Just checked my email, its still downloading...(after a couple minutes),

Yea, Ill rename it and edit the first post right now.

I already "wrote" it, all it does is have a little button that says "Infect computer" that generates a popup saying "Your computer is being infected" ;D
I might toss it in as part of WinFix, being a similar idea (meaningless, prank/joke program) but it wouldn't be anything badware related

I think that if you want to change the topic name, you just need to modify the subject of your first post.

Good luck with your problem solving!

Didn't know that  :o :-[
Thanks for the info (and the luck)!

« Last post by wreckedcarzz on August 28, 2007, 06:25 PM »
I toss my stuff I need temporarily onto the desktop for later (a few mins to a week or so) and "Documents" doesn't get much attention anymore. Its mostly an automated stronghold of Halo, Halo 2, Test Drive Unlimited and other gamer profiles and junk that can only be read by some idiot who programmed it in ChinAmericaSpanish or something ("profsavecheckatlocxy=truefalse=nocheck=true 003,045,053,281" type stuff). ;D Anything I want to keep for an extended amount of time I throw into Documents\archived stuff, but I clean it out frequently. I don't save much anymore  :-\

Not exactly a site, but a few of the popular IM clients are setting up lifelike bots that will talk to you in a logical (most of the time) manner. I still like Cody better, though. :)

I knew one actual website that did something like this, but I can't remember the darn name!

OK. So the requirements have changed to copy protection for software that can be used by drunk developers. I think we may have identified a niche market here.  :P  :beerchug: :drinksmiley:

Hey all,
Sadly, no updates. That is, directly to the game.

One thing has changed, and that is that Maze Craze will not only be available as a normal download from the site (http://mazecraze.dcisv.com/) but also part of my new program (https://www.donation...p?topic=8345.new#new). Nothing new to the game...well, yet anyways. Keep hope, keep hope.
1312
Well, I have already posted in like 6 topics in the last 15 minutes, so why not another ;D

But anyways...

I am going to release a RC for anyone interested in trying it out. It will be on an external site because its too big, incase your wondering.

Please, if you DO download, PLEASE give feedback. I am half temped to rip apart all the programs and throw them all together right now because of the success I have had so far with the new "Control Panel" setup (CompleteControl) (although combining them all would improve how it worked, maintainability would drop to like a 1% chance of getting anything done, so I guess thats not an option ;D)

If you run EasyControl and notice that CCleaner doesnt open- relax. This is one of the probobly 500+ changes. It won't "open" but it will "open". (ex: It runs silently now)

If you run SimpleStart you will notice that only a few of the top programs from the "Top 3 programs you use" thread are in there. Don't worry. I have my 5 page list hovering over me like a big black storm cloud.

If you run WinFix (used to be Dr. Windows 2) then you will get an error message when "activate now" is pressed or if you wait for 30 minutes. There is a program bug, and dispite tinkering earlier today, I don't think it is repaired. (Just don't open WinFix).

MSN IM Clear WAS IM Clear and that is NOW EasyClear. (Confusing, but I am trying to make a central theme (Easy<what program does>); call me crazy, but thats what I am trying to do).

I have 3 tweaks I am going to do before calling this final, and they are as follows:

Fix WinFix
Add UAC disabler to EasyControl
Change registry cleaner

Feedback on how to set this up/what you think about the control panel type of idea is also welcome, its a dramatically new idea that I just took a swing at and it took off.

Enjoy!

Oh lord, I just opened up this topic after like a week of not looking at it... :'( ;D

Darwin, I will setup the poll after I determine the top few apps, apparantly I have another 2 pages worth of sorting to do to see what the top few are (probobly top 5, maybe top 10?).

I honestly didn't expect so many replies, but more is always better

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: DC Windows Sidebar Gadget
« Last post by wreckedcarzz on August 27, 2007, 06:09 PM »
Hey all,

Was sitting on my bed thinking, watching my Vista PC boot. As it showed my desktop and Windows Sidebar appeared, I was thinking about Cody (I want to put his sticker on my PC :P). So I got this idea...

Why not have a Cody/DonationCoder Windows Sidebar gadget that opens the forum and/or chat when clicked (and maybe even wtfcody.com)? I am not sure about the coding end, but it would just be a simple little gadget (as Vista calls it) that has a couple options as to what to do when clicked.

Any takers?

Announce Your Software/Service/Product / Screenshot released!
« Last post by wreckedcarzz on August 26, 2007, 01:11 PM »
OK, I am so extremely tempted to post screenshots...
Maybe just one won't hurt :P

I am done working on this version with 2 exceptions:

UAC Disabler (or at least instructions on how to do it)
New registry cleaner (I am scanning with Abexo right now- TweakNow has too many variables that require user input)

I did way too many changes to list, and a lot has changed (both viewable and not), but it just got a lot simpler.

Also, I am bundling everything I do into one central installer (10MB) so people don't have to hunt and peck for different programs and "this doesn't work" and "I get an error when I click <item>". If you read my fake virus thread you already know that I am not distributing that, and I had one other joke program I am not putting in.

Anyways, here is a screenshot of the new Main Menu for EasyControl. Enjoy!

OK, here is what has been done so far-

I changed the name to WinFix, so if mouser or someone could change the topic name that would be big help and be worthy of a... smileyface :)
;D

I have everything working with the exception of...

The code is broken! I don't really know what is going on, but I am going to find out. It is one tiny piece I have pinpointed it to, but it stil might take a bit of work.
1318
Just a short update for those who are interested,

If you head over to this page,
http://www.incredisi...com/easyupdates.aspx
you can see that I have a LOT on my hands.

Regardless, EasyControl is still going to be my top priority (it is my largest and most used program).

I am trying to setup an updater system. While the code portion is not hard, finding the hosting space is. Don't be suprised if you run the updater on the next version and get the file "CompuTech EasyControl EasyInstall" from http://mazecraze.dcisv.com (the Maze Craze site).

I *may* go back to the freeware Tweak Now RegCleaner for registry cleaning. Eusing does a great job, but the nag screen auto-closing is kinda...defeats the purpose of it, and is (IMO) a slap in the face of the developer. I have had a good experience with RegCleaner, and the new version hopefully exceeds the last time/version I used.

BUG: This is kind of embarassing for me, as I just posted on my site that:

"WORKS WITH WINDOWS VISTA

Yes, all my programs work under Windows XP, and Windows Vista. No compatability issues at all!"

When, while that is true, User Account Control seems to have a bit of a problem with Eusing and Advanced WindowsCare. I will have a little fix to disable UAC in the next version (yes, if you are on Vista you will have to disable UAC, or help me find a new, better program for the problematic ones. Sorry, but UAC isn't exactly a step forward in anything but anger problems :P).

Anyways, I am still not releasing any pictures of the new GUI interface, as I think I am going to fiddle some more and see if I can't clean it up further (sorting through almost 36 pages of code, to update and remove ONE THING!).

As always, post ideas/better programs/ideal additions/other things that could be done and anything else. I am about to check on CCleaners progress of development- I really want to see what the final product looks like :)!

maybe "Professor Windows" ?

Ok, sounds good. I'll be sure to change it ASAP.

« Last post by wreckedcarzz on August 24, 2007, 06:13 PM »
Not that I have much in the way of them, but I did buy one of the most complex watches I have yet to see. It was able to tell time (two different times), tell you the date, provide a calender, 2 alarms, a calculator (a full one, too), light up, and had a couple other features. IMO good buy for $8 at the local Wal-Mart Supercenter :) (it was a really small watch, too. Suprising.)
I have an expensive ($600) watch laying around here somewhere that I got as a gift, I think it may have been a Citizen watch, but I haven't worn it in over a year (it was buried in my backpack, exactly where it should be :P). All it did was give you the time and the day number, though.

Ok, a little update before I hit the bed.

Fortunately, I was able to recreate most of the Dr. Windows dialogs, and edited them a little bit. BUT, they don't work. ;D I am using brand new code, so I will tinker a bit. I am sure its a simple 30 second fix, but you never know. :-\

:D Yep :P
I also just finished making the little request that Renegade had above- it is kinda...freaky the first time. Ill see if I can't send it to him when he gets online.

I am not sure about the whole key press thing, that might be a tad difficult. I could make it save your e-mail address and use it, but the sending portion would be tricky... :read: :read:

...I can't imagine mouser would be too pleased about such a discussion here.
Yea, I am a little worried about that. He (or any mod) can delete this if they want. :-\ It isn't my forum.

What language are you writing this project in? If its AHK I'd love to contribute some annoyances :) such as the floppy disk grind ;D
Yea, AHK is all I know right now. I have a basic little GUI setup, with some text and a single button, and a TrayMenu that wont work with me. Thats about it. I could post what I have up here, but right now the TrayMenu is throwing a fit and not letting me open it. >:(

How about one that monitors network traffic for keywords like coffee, coke, pepsi, juice, orange, milk, water, beer, whiskey and other beverage names then when it find one pops open the CD tray and displays a message on the screen, "Your *KEYWORD* holder is now available." :D

Sounds like a fun virus to me.

You could also make it a mini-keylogger to look for keywords as well. Even more fun!

As for how it spreads, well, perhaps having it install itself as a Windows service would be a fun start. That way you'd hammer people that log out but have network traffic going on when not logged in. Hmmm... What else...
The drink = CD tray opening can be done, I think I will throw it in just for laughs. :P
Joke program, not virus ;)

A virus is self replicating.

Spead the word. :D
It doesn't HAVE to be, it CAN be. ;)
