Paul Krugman (highly regarded economist and writer at the NY Times) has a short piece today on bitcoin:

What we want from a monetary system isn’t to make people holding money rich; we want it to facilitate transactions and make the economy as a whole rich. And that’s not at all what is happening in Bitcoin... So to the extent that the experiment tells us anything about monetary regimes, it reinforces the case against anything like a new gold standard – because it shows just how vulnerable such a standard would be to money-hoarding, deflation, and depression.

Anyone tried it yet? I'm really loving ZUploader and I'm thrilled to finally have a good solution to all of SC's uploading/sharing needs.

I had a great talk with the lead developer of ZUploader who expressed a willingness to add features if people come up with any.  I think one natural one might be allowing you to select multiple files at once from the thumbnail panel to upload in one operation (right now you have to select them one at a time if they weren't auto uploaded).

Any other feature requests? Any other feedback on the feature?  Anyone having any trouble getting it to work?

ZUploader does a nice job -- it's never been easier to share a screenshot from Screenshot Captor:  Two clicks and your SC image is uploaded to imageshack anonymously with a url copied to your clipboard that you can share with your friends.

Or configure one of the other private upload account options for more privacy.

Finally I think we have simple, fast and flexible image uploading functionality for SC.

Well you might care about gpl if you were planning on incorporating the source code into your own application -- but this is a case where i am simply invoking the unchanged executable not making use of the source code.

Anyway -- let's keep this thread just for discussing the integration of ZUploader with Screenshot Captor.

UPDATE 3/26/13:
Regarding the instructions below -- while SC still works well with ShareX (and ShareXmod), it also now includes it's own built-in uploader which is considerably easier and faster to use.

From Screenshot Captor you will see help for installing ZUploader in the options

• A checkbox to auto queue in zuploader after taking a screenshot
• A menu item in tray to upload last file
• A menu item in the SendTo menu of the post capture pop-up dialog
• A tool menu item in the main Tools menu.

In short, just install ZUploader and Screenshot Captor will know how to use it.

Let me know how it works for you -- any questions or comments.  And if you are a heavy user of this feature, please send a donation to the developers of ZUploader (see button in program window).

Nevermind -- i found a good tool for it, ZUploader, and added support for it to Screenshot Captor.

ZUploader is a free open source uploader tool which works with imageshack, dropbox, flickr, ftp, and more, and is associated with the ZScreen project, a good open source screenshot tool in it's own right.

ZUploader is donationware -- please donate to them if you find their tool useful (you'll find a donate button in the ZUploader window).

Integration with Screenshot Captor 2.99.02:

From Screenshot Captor you will see help for installing ZUploader in the options

• A checkbox to auto queue in zuploader after taking a screenshot

I just encountered the slow arrow text just now, randomly, right after making v2.99 live and after a week of trying everything i could to trigger it.
So clearly the bug is still lurking about -- and i'm back on the hunt for it.


Note that it's definitely (my occurrences of it at least) a very random thing -- going in and out of object mode or doing various things makes the problem completely go away).

I really dont want to write a dozen different uploader wrappers for different services just for SC.  I'd much rather find a stanalone queing uploader that SC can hand off to.

It's clear that people want to be able to easily upload screenshots to image sites, ftp servers, etc., in an easy way.
I'd really rather avoid writing one from scratch, but i'm willing to write some custom code to interface with an existing generic free uploader tool that supports different sites.
I'd appreciate suggestions and help locating and testing such tools. The requirements are:

• They need to support a queue of files.
• They need to support many common destination sites (image upload sites, ftp servers)
• They need to have a rich commandline interface for invoking them
• Needs to be free for personal and commercial use.

Help?
